YOUTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME (YAP).

 

 

The  Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai, is planning an intense value based initiative called YOUTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME (YAP).

 

 

YAP is designed around the five human values of Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non violence. As teachers you would agree that these values are the fundamental building blocks for good students, a happy society, a great nation and a peaceful world.

 

 

YAP has been in existence for over 20 years in more than 40 colleges in the city of Mumbai in which thousands of students participated in value based Essay writing, Elocution and Poster competitions which have had a far reaching positive influence in their lives.

 

 

For the academic year 2014-15 the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai has propose to have the following programmes under the umbrella of YAP on the topics mentioned in the RULES section of this letter.

 

  1. The Group singing Music Festival
     
  2.  Street Play Competition

 

  1. The Value and promotional Art Competition

 

  1. Council of Human Values: A healthy debate amongst the youth based on social values at the end of which mock bills would be passed like in parliament.

 

  1. Winter course on Indian Culture and Spirituality: A one week intensive course to selected students from all over Mumbai on the richness of Indian culture and spirituality which embraces all religions as pathways to reach the same God.



The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Mumbai seek your kind cooperation in reaching out to the students in your esteemed college and make YAP 2014-15 successful!

 

With awareness and enthusiasm  the dream for a better India, can become a reality.

 

RULES

 

I.                    Music Festival : DECEMBER 14, 2014

 

 

This is a group competition.

  1. Minimum 6 singers.
  2. The college must bring their own music team / orchestra.
  3. The musicians will be in addition to the 6 singers mentioned above
  4. Each team may include either only girls or only boys
  5. The college may send us 2 teams.
  6. The theme of the song will have to be any one of the following:
    1. There is only one  Religion, The Religion of Love
    2. How we can serve our Motherland
    3. Living a life of purpose
    4. Success is not how much we have but how much we are willing to give
    5. Nature is a manifestation of God
  7. Original lyrics and music will carry extra marks.
  8. The singing will have to be live.
  9. The songs can be in any language but for languages other than English, Hindi or Marathi a written line by line translation must be submitted before the performance.
  10. The presentation of the themes must be decent, constructive and positive.
  11. The participants must be dressed decently in full length attires.
  12. We reserve the right for disqualifying entries that do not adhere to any of the above.
  13. Participation certificates will be given to all participants

 

II.                  Street Play : DECEMBER 7, 2014

 

 

 

This is a group competition.

  1. Minimum 8 participants.
  2. The orchestra band will be provided although the college team may play their music if they want.
  3. The musicians will be in addition to the 8 participants mentioned above
  4. Each team may include either only girls or only boys
  5. The college may send us 2 teams.
  6. The street play will promote any one of the following themes:
    1. Making Society Safe for Women
    2. Respect to Parents
    3. Build Character to Build the Nation

 

  1. The plays must be in Hindi, English or Marathi
  2. The presentation of the themes must be decent, constructive and positive.
  3. The participants must be dressed decently in full length attires.
  4. We reserve the right for disqualifying entries that do not adhere to any of the above.
  5. Participation certificates will be given to all participants

 

III.                Council of human values: FEBRUARY 7, 2014

 

 

  1. Each team would have 2 participants per topic.
  2. Each team may have either only boys or only girls
  3. The debate / discussion will be based on specific questions related to the topic provided to the college as a bill on the following topics:
    1. Making Society Safe for Women
    2. Respect to Parents
    3. Build Character to Build the Nation

 

  1. The discussion will be in Hindi, English or Marathi
  2. The presentation of the themes must be decent, constructive and positive.
  3. The participants must be dressed decently in full length attires.
  4. We reserve the right for disqualifying entries that do not adhere to any of the above.
  5. Participation certificates will be given to all participants

 

 

IV.                The Promotional Art Comeptition: to be submitted by DECEMBER 14, 2014

 

 

  1. Any number of participants
  2. The themes of the competition are:
    1. There is only one  Religion, The Religion of Love
    2. How we can serve our Motherland
    3. Living a life of purpose
    4. Success is not how much we have but how much we are willing to give
    5. Nature is a manifestation of God

 

  1. The college must prepare all or any one of the following per theme
    1. Promotional Banner the bigger the better to be put up in the college for at least 10 days and then submitted
    2. Facebook page generate maximum likes
    3. Twitter handle generate maximum followers
  2. The college may prepare the above on more than one theme
  3. Hindi, English or Marathi may be used
  4. The presentation of the themes must be decent, constructive and positive.
  5. We reserve the right for disqualifying entries that do not adhere to any of the above.
  6. Participation certificates will be given to all participants
