Sairam sacred embodiments of Satchitananda

Today was a special day in Puttaparthi. The ladies celebrated Varalakshmi puja this morning. Most of the ladies in the Sai Pilgrimage joined the VaraLakshmi puja group, the few remaining women were able to get special seating in the Mandir. Right now there are three USA groups in Puttaparthi, a California group, an Arizona group and the region 4 group. This is rather unusual, but very nice to observe. This morning we shared a line with the California USA group and sat together for the Lakshmi puja.

Swami came in early, shining with the golden radiance of Mother Lakshmi. The participants in the puja were all seated with their puja trays filled with kum kum, tumeric and a beautifully decorated coconut. Our Lord circled the Mandir blessing the ladies and saturating their hearts with ananda.

The puja commenced with Vedic chanting. The front of the mandir was covered with rows and rows of ladies doing the puja in blessed synchronicity. It was a magnificent scene to behold. Swami sat on the veranda watching the puja with great intensity.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, He took araathi and an announcement was made inviting the puja participants for a special meal at the canteen and informing us that there would be a music program for afternoon darshan.

I was invited to a puja at Sai Bharati's house, a popular astrologer based in Puttaparthi.

After darshan I went with my friends Padma and Lalita to Sai Bharati's residence.

There we were blessed with another Lakshmi puja, and received saris and orange cord, sweet gifts from the Divine Mother.

What a blessed day! Afternoon darshan it was my turn to receive front row seating with the group's method of rotation, it was by sheer grace that my back row seat yesterday for the presentation turned into a front row seat in the mandir. By the way the correct name of the drama presented was actually The United Sai of America, sorry about that blooper.

We were all seated in the Mandir when the Seva dals had us get up and move across the main aisle very, very close to Baba's throne. All the groups were invited to that special area. So USA was indeed united for this darshan :)

Beloved Sai Avatar again came early, He orbited the Mandir slowly and sweetly smiling and taking letters. As He moved through the throng of students seated right next to the veranda. He came close to us, and said something to one young lady from California, as she sat down she took padnamaskar, there was a flurry and the ladies to left of me jumped up and rushed to touch the holy feet. Swami flowed past us I didn't want to jump up, the lady to right of me said, "Swami padnamaskar?", Swami just looked very deeply at both of us with such an intense burning look, O Heaven! He then glided around the podium and onto the dais.

He sat at the front of the veranda and blessed the performers with the opportunity to sing in the Divine Presence. A female singer and her group of musicians blessed us with Indian classical music, I'm sorry I did not get the names of the performers but it was heavenly transporting us to states of unalloyed bliss.

At the conclusion of the presentation Swami gifted the group with white cloth, photos and saris. Our Lord took Araathi and then gently, lovingly returned to His celestial residence.

Lots of Happiness

Prasanthi Update - A Divine Musical evening - 31.07.2009

The Varalakshmi Vratham festival was celebrated on a grand scale Kulwanth Hall today morning. More than a thousand Lady Devotees participated in the massive Pooja. Swami came in the morning at aaround 9.45am and spent a lot of time going around and blessing them.

In the evening there was a very nice Musical Programme by Mrs.Anuradha Sriram. She sang a variety of songs which included Classical, Hindustani,Carnatic and bhajans. It was a wonderful Programme and Bhagawan blessed her and created a Wonderful Gold chain for her and also took group photos with all the other artists in the Programme.

But as usual the Climax of every Programme is the same. Swami But the climax is always the same, Bhagawan always wants the Students Bhajan boys to sing on such occasions. The bhajan group singers, a couple of them sang some beautiful aalaps bringing to an end a most Wonderful Musical evening and Bhagawan retired to Yajur Mandiram at around 6.30 pm.

God Bless You!

Sairam Blessed Blessed Devotees of God

This afternoon Darshan our sweet, sweet Lord blessed the USA, Region 4 group with the opportunity to perform at the Lotus feet. I was a part of this very lovely group. Most of the program coordinators and directors in the group were young adults, which I think made the whole effort extra special, they all did an excellent job. The regional director, Jack Feely was also present.

Swami entered the mandir around 5PM, flowing gently down the main aisle. I was seated in the front row and had a beautiful view of our precious Swami. Swami paused to take letters and to bless some items. As He passed by our group, waves of Love rippled over us.

He turned and looked at the large backdrop, with the name of the program written on it over a map of the United States, "The United Sai States of America". It was a very original and creative idea.

Swami circled the mandir and then ascended the podium and came right to the front of the veranda. He scanned the group with His probing orbs. So magnificent, so very beautiful.

Jack Feely exchanged some words with our Lord and the program commenced with a procession of devotees offering roses, displaying photo albums, which Swami took time to peruse and enjoy.

Right before the presentation began, Swami sneezed, and at the same time laughed, Ho, Ho, Ho. Kind of how one would imagine the God Zeus, from Roman Mythology laughing.

A funny thought came into my mind, can we say God Bless you to God?

The program commenced and Swami watched all the performers intensely. The play depicted the cultural, spiritual and religious diversity of the United States. It opened with the Sage Narada being sent by Vishnu to experience this diversity. The drama was augmented with beautiful songs representing the different cultures and their spiritual offerings. Underlying the external diversity was the unifying theme of Love and Peace throughout the performance.

Swami smiled through the whole presentation, showering everyone with His divine radiance. I felt bolts of energy and so much power emanating from our Lord. Towards the end of the production He called the young man who played the Sage Narada up and materialized a gold chain for him right before our astonished eyes.

At the conclusion of the program. Araathi began very quickly. But our beloved Father stayed even after araathi was taken watching us and flooding us with His brilliance.

He then did something rather unusual, He allowed the group to start singing bhajans.

After some time He went into His private room and brought out white cloth and a few saris.

He gave the white cloth to some of the boys and men and four saris out to selected women. He than took araathi again, DOUBLE ARAATHI!!!!! ILLUMINE US LORD SAI!!!!!

It was an evening made in Heaven. I am totally blissed out and flying~~~~~

The Hand that gives

Sairam Blessed Sai brothers and sisters

This evening Darshan, Swami gave out an assortment of gifts to the blue scarfed devotees from A.P. sewing machines, telephone coin boxes, iron boxes and such were happily received by the named individuals.

After which, this same group sang nectarine songs for the Lord, He blessed them with saris and white cloths. He called two male group leaders up. I watched from a very good seat as He waved His celestial hand and a bright, dazzling light pierced the atmosphere. "Did you see that light?" I asked one lady sitting next to me. It was a ring, again a wave of the divine hand and a brilliant light issued forth, Sai Avatar created another ring.

O Swami how indescribably blessed are we to be sitting at your resplendent feet!

Nectar tears

I am tenderly tending the garden
abloom in my heart
preparing beds of bhakti
sowing the seeds of devotion
in nine divine rows

Angel trumpets and dainty white coral bells
chime God's morning glory
When my Lord awakens
I will robe Him in the
sunrise raiment of my love
and anoint His skin with
lilies gathered from
heavenly valleys

My beloved's eyes are full of stars
this morning

Rose of Sharon
I am forever Your Sachidanandaya bouquet
flowering on the sacred tree of life
amidst the joyful groves and
fragrant bridal bowers of Paradise

Prasanthi Update

In the past week or so there have been some wonderful and interesting developments in Prasanthi Nilayam.

A small Shiva Lingam was unearthed in an open area which is behind the ashram borders. The Shiva Lingam is black in colour and is about 2 feet. It was found when some land work was going on in the area.

When Swami was told about the matter, Bhagawan said that there the was a temple in that area long ago. The Shiva Lingam is stated to be around 200 years old and at present it is kept in the Hanuman temple in Puttaparthi Village where people are worshipping it daily.

Swami has now instructed everyone to chant "samastha loka sukino bavanthu" again. It looked like Bhagawan wanted everyone to chant " Samastha jiva sukino bavanthu was chanted for just about 4 days and it was as if it was meant for the Grahanam period only. Swami's Divine Plan.

On Sunday there was a Nice Programme by the Devotees and Bala Vikas Children of Ranga Reddy District of Andhra Pradesh. The Programme depicted the Bhakthi Rasa of Radha. The Costumes in the Programme were really nice and the make up of the kids was great which made the whole Programme a Wonderful one. Needless to say Swami and everyone else were thrilled by the Presentation.

Divine Drama

Sai Ram Embodiments of Infinity

This evening the Sri Sathya Sai Seva organization from the Ranga Reddy District in Andhra Pradesh, Bal Vikas students put on a divine performance. They re-enacted a drama entitled "Radha's Ananya Bhakti," The original performance was presented by the students of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher learning in 1985. The script, lyrics and direction were all provided by Bhagavan Baba.

The heavenly drama touched every heart with it's beautiful lyrics and music. Swami sat watching enrapt. The students did an excellent job and Bhagavan gifted them with white cloth and saris at the conclusion of the performance, He also took photos with them.

One of the directors was called up and Sai Avatar materialized a gold bracelet for him.

Yesterday evening, the Southern California, USA group presented a program in afternoon darshan. The Bal Vikas children performed a skit about Abraham Lincoln and his mother's beneficial effect on his life. After which the adults sang bhajans for Bhagavan. Swami watched the group very intensely and took photos with them at the conclusion of their presentation.

Swami took araathi amidst heavenly cathedral bells ringing ecstatically and the soul searching sound of the conch. He returned to His residence leaving us all in absolute bliss.

Sending you all the breath of Radha's sweet love.

Radha~Krishna

Radha ~ the perfume of your sacred Love
still clings to our hearts and minds
the mountain wind and sea breezes
carries your soulful song across
the milleniums
indistinguishable from your beloved
Radha Krishna
You glitter eternally by His side
One sweet sublime breath blowing
ecstatically through our souls

Prasanthi Update - Saturday Evening Programme - 25.07.2009

Saturday was a wonderful day in Prasanthi Nilayam. A group of devotees from USA had assembled in Kulwanth Hall for putting up a Programme before Bhagawan.Swami came at around 5.20pm. After taking a Full round of Kulwanth Hall and giving Darshan to the delight and happiness of everyone, Swami then went on the portico and to the Staff block. Then after talking to some people, Bhagawan then went into the Interview Room. Swami was there in the Interview Room till 7.30pm, Swami spoke to one Sathya Sai Central trust Member, After that a Doctor's family went for an Interview and then another and then a Devotee's family which led to everyone thinking that when Swami comes out it will be only Mangala Aarthi.

But can anyone ever predict Bhagawan's Leela's, Swami showered His Divine Love on the USA Devotees, Bhagawan wonderfully sat through the whole Programme which included a small skit and then they sang Devi Bhajans . Finally after Blessing everyone Bhagawan retired to Yajur Mandiram at around 8.30pm.

May all the jivas in all the worlds be Happy :)

Sairam Blessed Jivas of Lord Sai

During the wonderful vedic chanting our Bhagavan has blessed us with one hour before Darshan, I had a frontside view of the main aisle so I listened carefully and heard "samastha jeeva sukino bhavanthu" it is not deva.

The atmosphere was charged with vedic chanting, bhajans began and we all wondered if Precious Swami would come out this beautiful Thursday morning. The students blanketed the mandir like soft white snowflakes, shimmering crystal goodness and innocence.

"Sing people Sing!" I thought in my heart, "Serenade our Sweet Lord, surely He will respond to our intense yearning." The hands of the clock were hovering around twenty five after 9AM, "Sai please....!"

"Om Sai Ram!" Baba's coming!!!!! We all cheered inwardly, our faces beaming with happiness and light.

Swami entered the Mandir, a soft white lotus floating on Saraswati's swan lake. His amazing orbs sweeping the darshan lines, rapture rippling through the throngs of beloved jivas.

He circled the temple and then ascended the podium. He sat outside with us then vanished into the private room, granting an interview. Our heavenly Father returned to our waiting hearts and enjoyed exquisite bhajans. After which He took araathi and retired to His residence.

Baba... It's You we've waiting for all of our lives

Will Surya cover His golden eyes this morning?
Will the gods and goddesses thunderbolt
the doors of heaven?
Will our prayers fall on divine deaf ears?

Swami
All the angels and bhaktas are praying
fervently
the birds in the sanctuary coo their
love songs
the universe waits on bended knees
with palms folded...

there is a moment in time that never
ends........

Sai Avatar, the same Krishna
who guided, protected, and instructed Arjuna
The One Immanent God who
gave this world the blessed Gita
He! who is none other than Lord Rama
Guardian of the sacred Sarva Dharma
appears on the threshold of the mandir
in His blazing chariot
offering the same Light of wisdom
knowledge of Self, overflowing chalice of Love
to all assembled on this holy ground

Sai Lingam

Sairam Embodiemnts of Immortality

Our Baba was full of sweet smiles and honey looks. He came early this afternoon while the vedic chanting was going on. I had good seating and watched as He blissfully drifted by, the soft halo of hair, dark mole on the divine cheek, what a sight to treasure!

He sat out with us most of the time, tapping His hands, and going into blissful, altered states. We sang and sang, I could feel such a sweet communion with Him. That's what is so absolutely fantastic, each and every jivi sitting in darshan feels that one on one connection with the Supreme Being, Sai Avatar.

I left Darshan floating on ether. I had some tasks to do and then I was returning home when the auto rickshaw driver mentioned a huge lingam that had been found during an excavation.

Then the adventure began. We dashed down towards Hanuman temple, taking a left we took the road to a village located at the back of the ashram, not far from the back gate.

There were some people gathered at the spot where the lingam was discovered. It was an enormous, beautiful lingam. A shrine had been set up with flowers and kumkum, people dashed coconuts against rocks and bathed the lingam, Others poured milk over it.

I rubbed my mala beads over it and took some kum kum for my third eye. Then I decided to go get my camera. I returned and took some lovely photos of this phenomenal lingam.

I also brought some Ganges water from the Himalayas and poured over this auspicious lingam.

It is quite a mystery, I guess our good Lord will shed some light on it.
Sending you all bright rays of Lingam energy.

Sai Nath

Sairam beloved Sai Family

Our magnificent Lord blessed us with the incomparable bliss of His darshan this afternoon.

I was seated way in the back, near the clock, at the white line facing His throne. Still near or far, waves of indescribable joy flowed over all of us as we surged forward at the vision of God incarnated on earth.

Presently, about an hour before darshan the vedic chanting starts non-stop. It creates such a powerful vibration in the mandir, all chatting ceases, and we all going into otherworldly states of consciousness.

Swami circled the mandir and flowed through the students section onto the veranda. He sat outside awhile then went into His private room. Baba returned to our pining spirits sitting outside again enjoying the enthusiastic bhajans. He took aarathi and returned to His celestial quarters.

300 YEAR OLD SHIVALINGAM FOUND IN PUTTAPARTHI

Om Sairam dearest family,

on 23rd July 2009 there was some work being done in one farmer's field just behind Swami's ashram in Peddakammavari Palli road and the work men found this less than 3 feet Shivalingam.

In no time the news spread in Puttaparthi and hundreds of devotees started going there and it was talk of the town. Puttaparthi has little bit of history before Swami's birth in this holy tiny hamlet... The KIng Sri Krishnadevaraya who had his base in Penukonda (1 hour from Parthi) had built some temples around Puttaparthi in Bukkapatnam and he was also instrumental in building two lakes in Puttaparthi area.

The emergence of Lingam was a big news for Puttaparthians and the media from all over the state came here to cover the news. The archeological director was also called to check the Shivalingam. The primary investigation confirms that that lingam was of 17th century and the Archeological director also didn't write off the possibility of a temple some where closer by this place.

Devotees were queuing up to see this lingam. many offered Milk, Ghee and other offerings as abhishekam and there were also high profile visitors from the ashram to see this lingam. The flower and coconut vendors who usually sell near Ganesh gate shifted to this new place and it was totally a festive atmosphere around the Lingam place. The auto rickshaw drivers were all driving up and down with devotees to this place..

The upper part of the lingam was detachable and many pandits are of the opinion that since the upper part was removed, it needs to be installed in a better place and a puja is to be done to get the power back into the Lingam..

With pranams at the lotus feet of our beloved Lord

Prasanthi Update - Important Programmes in Parthi

Bhagawan gave a Wonderful Discourse yesterday evening in which Bhagawan wonderfully elaborated on the Divine Athmic principles. Bhagawan further stressed on the three Divine Principles of Deiva Preeti,Papa beethi and Sanga neethi.

Most Importantly at the end of the Divine Discourse, Bhagawan gave a most profound but important instruction as He called a couple of Bhajan singers and instructed them to chant “Samastha Jivaha sukino bavanthu”. Following the Divine instruction even today after bhajans everyone chanted the above Manthra instead of " Samastha loka….

Swami also gave instructions yesterday night that every morning from 8 to 9 and evening from 4 to 5 pm Vedam and Rudram chanting should go on in Kulwanth Hall irrespective of whether Swami comes for Darshan or not. The Divine Chanting started from today…

Bhagawan is surely sending Divine and subtle messages through all the above programmes, Maybe Bhagawan is guiding us and guarding us from some unforeseen events due to the Unique Solar Eclipse tommorow. Articles have appeared of yet another Tsunami day tommorow.

Let us all Pray to Bhagawan that everything is ok and His Grace and Divine Blessings are with each and everyone in this world.

LET US ALL PRAY TO OUR DIVINE LORD.

Samastha Jeevaha  Sukino Bhavanthu*

Sairam beloved Sai Family

Our beloved Lord blessed us all with His Divine Discourse today. First Anil Kumar spoke and another gent added to the blessed message. Then Father Sai addressed us. He was seated in a new chair, white with gold embellishment, it truly was a throne on wheels.

Swami began His discourse with embodiments of Love. He spoke about the nature of the Atma, Tat twam Asi, That Thou Art and also emphasized the need to follow what God tells us to do, how simple this is and this will lead to God realization. It was an inspiring discourse, Bhagavan saturated us with divine energy, speaking about the nature of the mind and again emphasizing Love for God, fear of sin and morality in society. The importance of realizing the consequences of our actions and developing constant integrated awareness. Everything is pervaded with divinity Bhagavan said. Everything is Reaction, Resound, Reflection.

It was a surprise discourse that filled us all with bliss and the exquisite privilege of listening to His Divine voice, pearls of nectar dropping into our pool of consciousness.

Bhagavan concluded His discourse and one bhajan was sung with gusto and happiness, "Sarva Dharma Priya Deva" Swami took araathi. then after the usual "Samstha Loka Sukino Bhavanthu, Swami asked one of the students to sing Samasta Jeevaha Sukino Bhavanthu. Then returned to His residence.

We all left darshan floating on air.

JULY 20 2009 - DARSHAN UPDATE

Tuesday, 21 July, 2009 12:16 PM

20th July 2009

Om Sairam dearest Sai family

It was a very sweet and memorable evening for all of us today. It all started at 5 p.m when Swami blessed us with His divine darshan as the bhajans were being sung. Swami today preferred to come in a bigger chair. After taking a full round Swami went on the stage. For on lookers it seemed as if there was some kind of surprise coming up and to confirm our thoughts, Swami called upon Prof. Anil Kumar and as we all thought we would witness a divine discourse, Prof. Anil Kumar was rather asked to speak. An able speaker he is, gave a very nice talk on Swami and the need for the mankind to be united and God-centric. Prof. Anil Kumar in His usual style, narrated shlokas, verses from Swami’s discourses and asked all of us to be reminded as how lucky we are to be born in this age when the Avatar of this Kali Age is amongst us. We all are blessed to be born in this age and it is our duty to make use of this golden opportunity. After 20 minutes of talk Swami signalled to bring His mike and every one of us got more curious and excited as Swami was going to speak.

Another surprise from Swami, this time He called upon Sri. S. V. Giri former Vice chancellor of Swami’s university. A highly knowledgeable person, Sri. Giri also looks like one of the fittest person, slim and trim, among elite devotees of Swami. I have seen Sri. Giri many a times giving a talk in Swami’s presence, and every time he speaks, he makes it very simple but the content will be of deeper spiritual significance. Sri. Giri stressed upon mind control. On many occasions Swami has asked the students to control the mind. It is more essential than sense control. We can keep our eyes shut, ears closed but the mind can’t be closed. He appealed to all the devotees not to ask God for immediate physical pleasures.

Be patient and positive only then the result will be a positive. Purity, Unity and Divinity are most essential for conditioning the mind. Don’t underestimate the gift of darshan. In the recent past you may not have physical proximity with Swami like before but Communion is most important. Swami will answer all your questions, clear all your doubts, solve all your problems when you have perfect communion. Sri Giri also narrated the story of Nachiketa and Yama from the Katha Upanishad. Sri. Giri asked all of us to be more into communion with Swami, as it is a rare opportunity and make best use of your time in Swami’s presence. So saying Sri. Giri completed his small talk and all eyes were on Swami now.

The mike was still there before Him. Will He speak or ask to keep the mike in the shelf. Swami signalled Prof. Anil Kumar to stand next to Him, Swami after adjusting His mike, majestically seated on His throne, looked at every one of us with full of love, looked at Prof. Anil Kumar very slowly without moving His Head (only Swami can demonstrate such minute wonders), made sure he is ready and started His divine discourse saying Prema Swaroopulara (embodiments of Love)Swami’s 45 minutes divine discourse was centered on the Atmic principle, love,Karma and Namasmarana

Excerpts from the divine discourse:

Embodiments of love, everyone asks Swami where is Atma? Atma is all pervasive and is one. Without Upanishads we would not have had holy epics like Ramayana, Mahabharatha. It is only because of the Upanishads that these holy epics are in textual form. Ancient Rishis studied each and every point in them. For everything Atma is Mooladhara (promodial). This primodial thing will not change any time. When you have body it has beginning . We all celebrate Shivarathri do you think Shiva was born on that day? No! Shivam is Mangala that which is auspicious. It is present in all. All that we see in Brahman (divine). All that you listen is Brahman, All that is spoken is also Brahman. Everything is Brahman (Divine) .In his childhood the baby is called a child, as he grows older he becomes boy, when he gets married he is a man, later house holder and so on. Each stage has to happen in an order. For all this the fundamental is Atma. Some call it Om and some Tatwamasi. But both are the same. When in womb both mother and the child are same. After delivery of the baby mother is separate and child is separate. In Both atma is same.

When you say OM the sound comes from the navel. Everybody can’t say OM instead they say Rama, Krishna, Allah, Jesus and so on. It is for dentification only and God has no name or form. To choose a form is your own choice. No one knows how Lord Venkateswara looks like. It is an imagination of Ravi Varma (a famous artist). Some times you worship Krishna, then Shiva. All are one. Atma is the one without the second. In a drama a boy plays the role of Rama, then he goes to the make up room and comes out to play the role of Krishna. Every one thinks Rama is there, Krishna is there but in reality it is the same boy who is playing all the roles. Same way God is only one who is assumed in many forms. All the discriminations are just your thoughts. Your imagination.

If you think a person is bad he will be bad. If you think he is good he will be good. In reality he is neither good nor bad but your imagination only makes you think. As you think so you become.

Swami later spoke on Meditation. Thoughts keep changing. You think I am meditating on a form. That is always changing. It is not meditation but concentration. As you keep thinking of the form it becomes contemplation which is stable but many a times keep changing. After some time by rigorous sadhana it becomes steady and that is true meditation. You cannot meditate right from the day one. It is nothing but ARTIFICIAL MEDITATION. It is very bad. In the beginning the mind wavers and it is very common. Later it should be steady. You will attain the meditation state after practice. No child is born as a man. He grows by age.

Swami later speaking on depression said.. What is Atma? I am Atma. All that we do today is full of confusion. This confusion brings depression. It is your unsteady nature that is the main cause for depression. Every thing in this world keeps changing. The food you eat today can’t be eaten tomorrow. The environment also changes from time to time. What is change less is CONSTANT INTEGRATED AWARENESS. To experience that you should have feeling of oneness. Everything in this world is born from Satyam (truth) . Everything merges in truth. Is there any place where you can’t find truth.. no.. no.. Truth is Atma. Truth is changeless. Truth is the foundation. Where Sathya and Dharma prevails there comes Shanthi. When Peace is established there won’t be anger, jealousy. Then comes LOVE. Without love you will become restless.

Hanuman went to Lanka in search of Sita. He searched all the streets of Lanka. He would keenly look at all the ladies on the streets to check if Sita was among them but in vain. Frustrated He directly went to the court of King Ravana and asked what kind of king you are? I have come to see Mother Sita. I am feeling very sad for not finding Her. O king Ravana you have ten heads but why do you have that evil mind of abducting mother Sita. He started addressing Ravana in singular number. King Ravana got so furious at Hanuman. He said till now no body has addressed me like that. He ordered his soldiers for Hanuman’s tail to be burnt. The soldiers who were all demons, brought lot of cloth, tied it to Hanuman’s tail and burnt it. Hanuman with the burnt tail went to the streets of Lanka torched all the houses, palaces. All the people left their homes and ran in the streets. Hanuman burnt all the houses except that of Vibhishana for his noble character. Evil people will face the same consequences.

Speaking on Karma Swami then sang a telugu verse.. Kaladu okka mala nee khanta mandu (there is one garland around your neck), poorva janmala punyalu ponduga pondu parachi (with records of all your past lives karmas) Brahma meekichi pampenu baruvu mala (Brahma has sent you with this heavy garland), karma lanniyu cherchina kanta mala(that garland which has the list of all your past lives karmas). No one can escape the consequences of Karma. Love your society. Then the fear of sin will vanish and only then you can love God.

Swami then asked all of us to do namasmarana (chant the divine name). This is the only medium by which you can attain liberation. Always have this thought that I am Man and not an animal and definitely not a beast. I am Brahaman (the supreme self), Don’t waste your time in unnecessary gossip. Speak good words. Let your looks be sacred, let your thoughts be sacred then you will be good and all good will happen to you. Develop love for God. God will give you all that you want if you love God. To experience the divinity in you , do lot of practice. Always have this thought, let me be like a human being and not like an animal. AVATAR HAS COME TO MAKE YOU EXPERIENCE THIS DIVINITY.. If we are perfect we can experience divinity. If you follow bad people you will become bad. Tell me your company and I shall tell you what you are.. so saying Swami concluded His 45 minutes divine discourse which was full of love and of Supreme knowledge..

After two bhajans Arathi was given to Swami at 7:20 pm and interestingly after Samastha Loka Sukhino bhavanthu Swami asked to chant Samastha JEEVA (living beings) Sukhino Bhavanthu (not sure if this is going to be a new addition to the Sukhinobhavanthu prayer)..Thus ended yet another GOLDEN DAY in my Prasanthi Diary a day full of love, and light..

With humble pranams at the Lotus Feet of our beloved Lord,

R. Satish Naik..

Prasanthi Update

The Whole of last week was wonderful. On Friday and Saturday there were programmes by Devotees of Medak District. There was distribution of Sewing machines, coin box telephones, iron boxes, etc for the poor people to earn their livelihood. Swami sat through patiently throughout the Programmes. On Saturday, there was a Nice Drama programme by the Youth and Balvikas children, it was wonderful to see small kids dancing with colourful costumes to the tunes that were melodious. Swami was very happy with the Programmes on both the days.

Sunday was a Normal Day with Bhagawan's Divine Darshan only in the evening.

Wishing everyone a Wonderful and Spiritually Uplifting Week ahead.

17 & 18th July, 2009 -  Darshan Update

Om sairam dear Sai family,

Puttaparthi is witnessing huge number of devotees in the recent past and there are double the number of devotees to come in the near future. Almost every state in India is planning to come in big numbers. The past 4 years or so, we are witnessing this BIG GROUP trend and it is a real booster to the spiritual seekers. It not only improves team management skills but also helps us to live together understanding each other.

About 2500 devotees from Medak are here on a yatra. Many of the devotees in the group are first timers and were in ecstasy everytime they saw Swami.

On 17th July the devotees were blessed to perform narayana seva in the presence of Swami. The district Medak was also blessed by Swami's water supply project recently. Many who didn't know about Swami, felt His Motherly love by this kind gesture. Swami always keeps a low profile. SERVE ALL AND BE NOTHING.

Probably the devotees of Medak district wanted to give back what they got from the society to the society. About 85 deserving people were selected for distribution of essential things which could earn them their daily bread which included Grocery Shops, Sewing Machines Water Purifiers, Welding Machines Vegetable Trolleys, Cycles, telephone coin boxes, Wet Grinders (many families' in India don't have grinders in their home so they go to the grinder shop in their locality to grind the things for cooking), Tea Stalls, , Vegetable Shops and some even got Tri Cycles. every time the beneficiaries names were called each one them came to Swami, very humbly bowed to Him and many a times Swami raised His hand to bless them. It was a beautiful scene that needs to be seen to be experienced. Swami was very happy with the humble gesture of His bangaroos from Medak. He was very happy to see THIS KIND of transformation in the modern man. Helping each other and loving each other. This is what Swami wants us to do and this kind of selfless seva will definitely make Swami happy

After the distribution there was a beautiful musical programme by the devotees from Medak. Swami was very touched with their talent and renderings. One of them was also blessed with a divine materialisation and the programme came to an just before 7pm.

18th July 2009.

This evening it was yet another long wait for all of us. Swami blessed us with His divine darshan around 5:20pm. The devotees from Medak were blessed again today with a drama entitled Devudu Unnadu (God is present). it was a very well written drama and Swami enjoyed every bit of the play. Swami like yesterday distributed clothes to all the participants. Swami went down the stage and blessed every one with a closer darshan, sparshan and sambhasan. One of the boys was blessed with a beautiful golden chain from Swami. It was a treat to watch Swami mingling so closely and why not they are His chosen ones who are the recipients of the divine invitation. Almost all of them were in tears when Swami came so close to them. Definitely all the devotees were really blessed. Swami knew how much they love Him and how much hard work they have put in for this day..

Swami after immersing all of us in the Ananda Sagara accepted arathi at 7pm.

August will be more busy month with so many groups planning for Parthi yatra starting with brother Puppet's Sadhana Camp group..

On a personal note, I want to share this good news with my Sai Family, Apart for darshan I was there in the ashram praying for my pregnant wife Shanthi who was admitted in Swami's general hospital maternity ward. After the programme I rushed to the hospital and at 8:30pm we were blessed by Swami to be proud parents, instrumental in bringing a baby boy to His Parthi. A new addition to my family a happy episode in my life. I pray to Swami and request you to pray, to bless our son to be His chosen instrument and let Him be a good person if not a great person in the future..

With Humble pranams at the lotus of our beloved Lord.

R. Satish Naik..

Another evening under the stars with God

Sairam dearest devotees of Lord Sai

Bhagavan sat out with His dear devotees up until 7PM, this evening darshan. A huge group of red scarfed devotees from Andhra arrived on Friday and poured into the mandir offering their love and paying homage to Sai Avatar.

This evening the Bal Vikas students from that group put on a mostly dance performance. It was beautifully and skillfully executed, Swami appeared to enjoy the program immensely.
He bestowed saris and white cloth on the performers, took photos and interacted affectionately with the group.

It was a delightful evening under the stellar sky with Beloved Bhagavan.

Dearest

On the balcony of my heart my beloved waits for me
multitudinous twilight eons flicker by
nebulous configurations vanishing and reappearing
in my Lord's mammoth dynasty

evolving worlds, dying stars, countless gossamer galaxies
and yugas roar through this vast void

flaming red-tailed comets streak across
Viswaroopa's enormous immutable orbs
a trillion dazzling suns compose His sovereign smile

still He abides...and waits...waits...
scanning, examining the tear-streaked horizons
untamed, urban wilderness, burgeoning populations,
cities and nations
for the Blessed Sadhak who is dear and near to Him
the Transfigured Soul who possesses the following
sacred qualities, attributes and characteristics:

"16. He who is free from wants, pure, capable, unprejudiced,
untroubled, renouncing all undertakings and is devoted to Me
is dear to Me.
17. He who neither rejoices or hates, nor sorrows, nor desires,
renouncing the pleasant and unpleasant, full of devotion,
he is dear to Me."

The Lord declares that though a person may have deep devotion to the Lord, he cannot be called a bhakta if he lives without regard to the commands of the Lord that is the dharma laid down in the sastras, which embody His orders, revealed to saints and seers. It is in this sense Krishna uses the word bhakti-man, when He declares in the Gita, "Bhaktiman, ya sa me me privah" -Gita Vahini, P. 180.

18. He who is the same to enemy and friend and also in honor and disgrace, who is the same in cold and heat, in pleasure and pain, free from attachment.

19. To whom praise and blame are the same, content with anything, homeless, steady minded, full of devotion, that man is dear to Me.

20. They also honor this immortal dharma as above declared, imbued with faith and intent on Me as the Supreme Goal and devoted, they are exceedingly dear to Me.

"What a grand idea this sloka conveys! This the concluding sloka of the series that gives the qualities one has to develop. It calls the entire group dharmyamritham, the dharmic way to immortality! The Lord has declared therein that those who have these qualities,
those who trust Him as the only ultimate goal, those who are attached to him single- mindedly are dearest and nearest to Him.

Note the expression dharmyamritham used here. Ponder over it and draw inspiration from it. The nectar of the Lord's Grace is deserved only by those who adhere to the Lord's Dharma. Simple folk believe they have bhakti towards the Lord; but they do not pause to inquire whether the Lord has love towards them! People who pine to discover this are rather rare. That is really the true measure of spiritual success. ~ Dharma Vahini, P. 18.

Om Darshan

Sairam Dearest Sai Family

Can the mouth speak? Can the lips utter the absolute bliss of this afternoon's darshan?

Our sweet Lord granted me #1 token, I sprinted towards the main aisle with the other devotees at breakneck speed, claiming a very auspicious spot near His throne.

The Lord of the Universe, the three worlds, the One without beginning or end, the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva; Creator, Preserver and Destroyer, knowing past, present and future; beyond the shadow of maya, infinite omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience descended from His celestial residence and conferred on all gathered in the Mandir, the supernal delight of His darshan.

Swami sailed down the main aisle, as He passed our section He turned His head straight, His royal profile illumined by the light of the many chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Circling through the students, a golden glow to His complexion, He took their letters and smiled like a loving Father.

As He emerged from the students, He turned His heavenly head and looked directly at us and smiled, rotating His upturned hand, OMG!!!!! i cupped my hands gulping that brilliance.

Our Lord glided onto the podium to the music of vedic chants, it was early when He entered the mandir around 4:40PM, He sat outside with us right through bhajans, frequently turning His head in our direction. We were all smitten with the immensity of His Love. Even now I am still still swooning. Baba raised His holy hands in blessing after taking aarathi and returned to His blessed residence.

Bird of Paradise

The secret wings of my spirit flutters rose pink
my eyes strain to see what cannot be discerned physically
O Soul! tell me what you supernaturally perceive,
for I am quite blind
My Lord is seated before me and His splendor is hidden
from the naked eye
like a golden canary unaware of the song buried in its breast
I flurry to and fro in this cage of limitations
the heart has woven a garland of prayers
a host of alabaster doves
that are flying fast towards the prashanti dais
O Sai Nath!
When? When?

Guru Poornima 2009 - Swami on His Three Jewels

Swami spoke wonderfully about Sarvasree A.V. Appa Rao, Financial Controller of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, A.V. Sathyanarayanamurth y, Senior Engineer in the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prof. Nanjundaiah, Controller of Examinations, Sri Sathya Sai University and Prof. A.V. Lakshminarasimham, Registrar, Sri Sathya Sai University

In the morning there was no time to talk about these people. Ever since our hospital started functioning, Appa Rao has been working there as an auditor. For fourteen years, he worked hard, day and night. I am pleased with his work. He came here with the sole intention of rendering selfless service, not with any other motive. Those were the initial stages of the Super Speciality Hospital, so there was plenty of work, day and night. He alone had to attend to everything … receiving parcels of medicines, checking them and noting them down. In spite of being a non medical person, he worked untiringly taking care of patients also. He is meticulous in checking all details. He has worked with full satisfaction. All these fourteen years, he never aspired for anything.

He did not accept even a naya paisa. Everybody in the hospital earns these days twenty to thirty thousand rupees. But he has not taken any money. He had to climb up and down the stairs many times everyday, while looking after the stores, patients, nurses and doctors as well. He looked after so many things, all alone. He never complained to Me also.

He has been adjusting himself. He has never been deficient in his work.. I Myself used to see him now and then to enquire about the work. We should express our gratitude to such a dedicated worker.

With much compassion towards him, I told him, “Appa Rao, Now the number of patients coming to our hospital has increased by thousands. Mentally, of course, you are quite alert, but physically you are weak. Therefore, take rest at home. You have come to serve Swami. There was no shortcoming whatsoever in your service.”

His wife also supported him and has been taking good care of him at home, looking after his food and other needs meticulously. He has no habit of taking food outside. So, when necessary, she used to send his food to the hospital.

Appa Rao has also been taking care of poor people in many respects. He rendered help in many heart operations to the poor people. He used to send free medicines to the homes of those heart patients even after they were discharged. He worked very hard. My heart melted at his service. How can we leave such a person who worked so hard? Everybody, including students, sought his help. I tell our students often, “Help ever, Hurt never.”

We do not take even a paisa from anyone for rendering medical services.. Our hospital always gives and never takes. He rendered seva (selfless service) with the feeling, “This is my hospital, my Swami’s hospital.” He considered the hospital as his own and served it selflessly. Even when I was away physically, I helped him in all that he did.

As this is our first Super Speciality Hospital, he had to work very hard for its development. Subsequently, another Super Speciality Hospital has been established in Bangalore. There is an Orthopaedic division also in our hospital here. Appa Rao has been looking after all this. I liked his work..

Before this, he worked for the government. There also, he rendered good service. As he utilised all his experience for the benefit of our hospital, today we have gathered here to honour him.

His younger brother Murthy is an electrical engineer. He is also working with us. Whenever there is any electrical problem he is called by telephone, and he attends to it immediately. Even at night, he is ever ready to do service.

The youngest brother Lakshminarasimham worked in our university as Registrar. He is also growing older, and needs a little rest. He has not married, so there is no bondage. He has been totally dedicated to our university.. He first joined in Seva Dal. He did Ph.D. with the intention of joining our college. These three brothers have been rendering good service. They have been very helpful to us, in spite of many troubles they had to face.

Nanjundaiah has been the controller of examinations. He has been very kind to all students. He has been working day and night in order to declare the results well in time. He never used to take rest even for a while. He would engage himself in correcting papers even while suffering from fever. Everybody was depending upon him. He had to take much trouble in sending results to Anantapur and Bangalore colleges. We were very much concerned at the troubles he had to face. His wife also has been taking good care of him at home, providing timely food and looking after other needs meticulously.

What Great words coming from our Divine Lord - Service is everything.

Morning Paradise

Sairam blessed devotees of the Lord

The floodgates of Heaven swung open this morning. Beloved Sai Krishna graced us with the nectar of His Presence after many mornings of pining. It was after 9:15AM, we searched the courtyard for our Lord, no sign, our spirits drooping, Swami ple-e-ease come!...a tremor of hope, a ray of light, Sai Avatar, the treasure of our Souls appeared on the threshold of Paradise.

Beloved Baba glided through the mandir, very affectionately speaking to devotees in the front and taking letters, allowing padnamaskar for the fortunate ones. I was in the island section seated in the front row with Kim the young adult from N.C. we had such a blessed view of our Swami. There weren't many devotees so this was extra special!

Our divine Father looped through the excited group of students and onto the dais. He moved through the gents at the back of the mandir and then vanished into His room granting an interview.

As He emerged from His room, we were positioned so beautifully near, He hurled a golden gaze in our direction, full splendor rushing towards us, O Sai Rama! Babaji sat out with us for awhile then took araathi, gracefully He ascended His vehicle, the love flowing nonstop.
Hari Om! Hari Om! Hari Om!

Morning Paradise

Sighs of happiness and joy bloom
over our shining faces
extreme bliss is actually tangible,
our spirits spin in luminous circles
dancing through the mandir waving silk flags
performing cartwheels and acrobatics
our hearts kiss His lovely feet
The famine is over, the drought has ended
light blossoms from every branch and vine
grapes of rapture hang in sweet bunches
the wine of Love flows and flows
Swami... O... Swami never leave our side
never....

Sai Ocean of Love

Sairam Blessed sparks swimming in the Ocean of Sai"s Love

What a very very heavenly darshan!!! Our Viswaroopa entered the Mandir around 4:40PM.

It never ceases to amaze me how the entire assembly becomes riveted to His resplendent form. Its as if we are all suddenly shook from our egocentric slumber, and allowed a glimpse of something so breathtaking...so astounding we lose consciousness of everything around us..just the rapture of this vision of Love.

Swami floated in, I was happy to see Dr. Goldstein, Pres. of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba organization in America trailing our Lord with the two other men that normally follow Baba.

Beloved Sai circled the mandir and went onto the veranda, He sat outside with us enjoying very beautiful bhajans.

Imagine! this form seated before us is Viswaroopa, everything, the entire Universe, the three worlds, Time, being and non being, macro and micro, infinite and finite are all swimming in this vast Ocean of Love. OMG how blessed we are!!!! to be His devotees!!!!

Our Heavenly Father raised His perfect hands in blessing after taking araathi and retired to His residence.

Beautiful God

Om Sai Ram Dear Sai Family

Our embodiment of Loveliness graced us with the beauty and magnificence of His darshan this afternoon around 4:20 or so. Lord Sai flowed into the mandir radiating pure, unsullied Love and Bliss. O Baba! Ananda, Ananda sheer Ananda!

Bhagavan orbited the mandir bestowing happiness on the euphoric gathering of devotees.

I was seated in the exit aisle with an excellent view of His divine form.

Swami very slowly glided through the flocks of students, speaking sweetly with them and taking their letters. He taxied onto the veranda and sat out with us imbibing the glory of the Vedic chanting.

After some time our orange robed Krishna disappeared into His room. He emerged and sat with us briefly before taking araathi. Delicious prasadam was distributed, chocolate eggs with a white coating in elegant velvet drawstring bags, with the words Om Sai Ram, Love All Serve All, Help Ever, Hurt Never written on them. I believe they were gifts from the Brazilian group, but don't quote me on that.

Our Blessed Baba floated down the exit aisle His celestial head turned in our direction. His suprawordly eyes sweeping the first row of devotees, I was seated in the third row and our precious avatar's eyes swept upward, i caught a ray of that Surya glance, Heaven!!! Bliss!!!
Om Sai Ram!!! Sending you all golden beams from the eyes of Swami.

Marriage of the Heart, Head and Hand

Swami
transcending the twin prongs of preference and aversion
likes, dislikes and loving others as much as we love God
seems an almost impossible life application
So much of the world still a siren's song in our ears

If we can't surrender now while the Living God is
walking the earth...
When will we surrender?

Sri Radha
break open our humbled hearts
sacrificial coconuts on the
scrubbed tiles of our inner mandir
with Love songs, chants and stories praising
the glories of God

Lord Buddha
Bless our minds, calm our spirits
teach us the right use of the senses
and the middle path
in the deathless splendor of Samadhi
we repose under the bodhi
witnessing the divine drama dancing around us

Jai Hanuman
if we can emulate a fraction of the fearless courage
and service you eternally demonstrate
our lives will be sanctified and the Grace and Embrace
of Lord Rama assured
what appears virtually unattainable
like Your valiant, yeoman leap across the ocean of Samsara
Land Ho!
the celestial shores of Ayodhya
within our grasp
beckons...clearly visible

Sai.......!

Sairam Blessed embodiments of Sai

Our Lord Sai blessed us with the limitless ananda of His form this afternoon Darshan. He entered the Mandir sweeping us all off our feet with His celestial charm and beauty. Although I was way in the back, His ananda blesses in equal measure one and all. I was feeling a bit grumpy today due to some minor issues, but still I let it affect my mood.Swami circled the mandir and gracefully took letters from His students. He sat outside on the veranda the whole time saturating the atmosphere with His Love.

I prayed for more tolerance, equal mindedness and to experience a continual stream of His Love. Nothing is more important than Love, we just have to be open and receptive to that truth.

Our Divine Father took araathi, raised his hands blessing the holy gathering then retired to His residence.

O Brahma!

Dawn stars kneel by my bedside
together we listen for His holy footsteps
in the early light of Brahma muhurham

God's serene breath
blows through the hushed stillness
delicately He drapes the shawl of meditation
around our shoulders
the candleflame shimmers
a soft saffron petal
at His camphor white feet

Divine nectar cascading
Our beloved leaves a trail of vibhuti
for us to follow into
immortal, lucid, incandescent depths
of Om.....

Father Charles and our Lord

Sairam embodiments of Love

Yesterday evening Darshan our resplendent Swami went out early in His vehicle. He returned during bhajans, and sat for a short while outside granting us the supreme bliss of His darshan then took araathi and retired to His residence.

Talk about being in the right place at the right divine time! Before coming to Parthi I had compiled a manuscript of spiritual experiences, dreams, artwork and poetry into a book and wrote a letter to Swami asking Him to bless this work. Swami took my letter in Kodaikanal, so I feel very happy about it.

Included in this book are Sai experiences from devotees I have met along this journey to God. I especially wanted to include some experiences of Father Charles Ogada a Catholic priest from the Order of the Holy Ghost Fathers in Nigeria but needed his permission to use some of the past articles and talks.

Yesterday evening in darshan, I stopped by Sister Gloria the nurse from the General hospital to say hello, another devotee from the states, also came over to her spot. Gloria introduced me to Sister Doris. During the course of our conversation Doris mentioned that she and a few other devotees were going to meet with Father Charles by the western canteen after bhajans. I asked if I could also come along. Then plans quickly evolved where we all decided to meet at Gloria's apartment in the ashram for satsangh.

Father Charles is a sweet, compassionate soul. There is a radiance and power in his countenance that blesses all who come in contact with him. I was introduced to Father Charles a few years ago by Sister Gloria but since then had not seen him in quite awhile.

Father Charles spoke at length on how Swami came into his life, his early years the struggles that still continue with the church regarding his undying devotion to Swami, and his present situation. He has been through a sort of crucifixion that has moulded, integrated and transformed his consciousness to the point where he is truly a glorious instrument of our Lord Sai.

For me the keynote of his talk was the transforming power of God's sacred name and how we must integrate this into our awareness, everything we think, feel and do must resonate with God's holy name.

After this satsangh at Sister Gloria's we discovered that Father Charles was going to address the Brazilian group in the conference hall. I dashed over to the conference hall and received a double dose of Sai's precious leela.

Father Charles reiterated what he previously spoke about at Gloria's. He concluded his talk with a Nigerian chant along with a few Nigerian devotees present and the primordial sound of Om Shanti. It was a very wonderful and blessed evening by the grace of Lord Sai.

Africa Unite under Sai

Sairam Blessed children of Lord Sai

This afternoon our Lord Sai blessed the All Africa Sai adult choir with the opportunity to perform at His Lotus feet. It was a memorable evening as our Sweet Lord sailed into the mandir and showered smiles and loving looks on the devotees as He circled the mandir.

Dr. Victor Kanu introduced the choir and the supporters of the choir. The choir director was a young African man, sorry I don't have his name, who is the youngest person to be knighted by the Roman Catholic Church.

The beautiful voices of the choir rang harmoniously and mellifluously through the mandir like cathedral bells from heavenly steeples. Swami lavished His attention and love on the choir, going inside and selecting white cloth and saris for the singers. He came down off the dais and went directly over to the young choir director, calling him to his lotus feet several times. He materialized a ring for him and also gave other gifts to the choir members including many photos and padnamaskar.

Victor Kanu's wife, Genevieve was also present, Swami called her over and asked if she liked the saris he selected.

Our Baba lingered sweetly interacting with the choir it well after 7 when we all took araathi and our beloved father retired to His blessed residence.

GURUPOORNIMA 2009 DARSHAN UPDATE

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family,

The much awaited Gurupoornima festival was celebrated in Puttaparthi with festivity and gaiety. The day dedicated to the Guru is always a big occasion in the land of our Jagatguru Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Thousands thronged to Puttaparthi on this holy occasion. This festival witnesses maximum number of devotees every year and this year was no exception.

On Monday the 6th, Swami delivered His divine discourse which was full of love. He reminded all of us not to run after money instead help the needy. Swami reminded how the flood victims of Orissa received His blessings. No government came forward to help the victims but Swami did it. Many of the flood victims though in India never heard about Swami and Swami lend His helping hand to those so called strangers. Swami reminded all of us not to have any differences of caste, creed or nationality. What do you think Swami needs? Do you think He needs money… NO NO.. The whole gathering joined their hands with a big round of applauds when Swami said I want only your LOVE and nothing else.

7th JULY MORNING DARSHAN:

The morning of Gurupornima the 7th of July was a memorable one. The ashram was beautifully decorated with colourful and fresh flowers all over. Swami messages were hung here and there. The symbols of all the religions and Swami’s photos were put all round the Sai Kulwanth hall, and the dias was beautifully decorated. Students from all the campuses of Sri Sathya Sai University were here for the divine darshan. By 7:30am the Sai Kulwanth hall was jam packed and equal number of devotees were waiting outside the lane. There was no place even to stand on two feet.

Surprisingly enough, as Swami says, love my uncertainty, we all had to wait for very long time for Swami’s darshan. At one stage many of the devotees confirmed that Swami wouldn’t come for morning darshan but at 10am Swami blessed the July (read as august) gathering with His divine darshan. Clad in yellow robe, majestically seated in a bigger mobile chair for a better elevation and good darshan even to the last line devotees, Swami wearing His beautiful smile entered Sai Kulwanth Sabha Mandapam. Every body’s heart jumped in joy and were thrilled to see Swami. There is only one thing in this world which never fills our hearts and makes us to experience again and again and that is Swami’s darshan. There is no day we say enough, when it comes to Swami’s darshan even though some have the opportunity to see Him again and again..

Swami took a full round of the Sai Kulwanth hall smiling at every one, looking sweetly and with a little bit of concern at the vast gathering that came here upon the divine invitation, signaling if everyone were fine and comfortable. Swami while accepting the letters from the front line devotees, was having a watchful eye even on the last liners and thousands watching Him from outside the hall. A matchless exhibition of motherly love. Why not He is our Sai Ma with love of thousand mothers.

Swami slowly moved on to the dais and it was 10:20am and every one were wondering what would be the programme like as it was already late. But when it comes to Swami, when ever He wills to start the programme, is the right time and Prof. Anil Kumar came on to the dias. The mike was ready before him. Prof. Anil Kumar announced the day’s programme which came as a surprise to all of us. Four humble souls two each from Super Speciality hospital and Sri Sathya Sai Unversity, totally devoted to Swami were scheduled to be felicitated for their heartfelt service they rendered to Swami in various levels.

Prof. Anil Kumar was at his best with beautiful descriptions about the blessed ones who were called on to the dais with timely verses sung by Swami and a little background about them. The first one to be asked to come on to the dais was Mr. Appa Rao who joined the Super speciality in the second year of its opening and has been serving there tirelessly managing the finances of the hospital and was also doing the auditing. While calling them on the dais the better halves were also called and it was a beautiful sight for all of us, when Swami blessed the wives appreciating their whole hearted service they did for their husbands.

Mr. Nanjundeswara who recently retired as the controller of the examinations was the second one to be blessed by Swami this morning. Prof. Anil Kumar later called upon Mr. Sathya Narayana Murthy, the chief electrical engineer of the Super Speciality Hospital Puttaparthi and Mr. A. V. Lakshmi Narasimham former Registrar of Sri Sathya Sai University.

As they all belonged to the hospital and university the two speakers blessed this morning were Dr. Safaya the director of Super Speciality hospital and Prof. Pandit the Vice Chancellor of Sri Sathya Sai University.

Dr. Safaya was all praise for Mr. Appa Rao who hails from Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Safaya who was the former director of India’s top most hospital AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) New Delhi, said, when I thought working in Swami’s hospital was a blessing, Swami gave me a double blessing by appointing Mr. Appa Rao in the hospital. Mr. Appa Rao, worked tirelessly for the betterment of the hospital, make use of the technology and also equally cost conscious. He did his very best in reducing the costs of various departments and his minute observations helped the hospital to serve more patients and carry on Swami’s mission of free medical facility to the maximum

Dr. Safaya also had a word of praise to Mr. Sathya Narayana Murthy who was working as the Senior engineer. Dr. Safaya said, for operation theatres one needs to have 100% bacteria free environment and Mr. Murthy was very successful in this aspect. He made sure every bit of the electric system was in good condition and also made sure the patients were well taken care in a completely sterile zone. Appreciating and knowing his exemplary skills many companies like Voltas, Samsung came to him to know his technique in order to introduce the same in other hospitals.

Dr. Safaya said, all the staff that Swami picks are gems. There is no one whom we can underestimate. Many of Swami’s students have joined in our hospital and it was a good learning experience for them with people like Mr. Appa Rao and Mr. Murthy.

Dr. Safaya urged Swami to bless them with a happy and healthy life ahead and thanked Swami on behalf of hundreds of thousands who were the beneficiaries of their unmatched seva for giving the hospital that talented people.

Later Prof. Viswanath Pandit the Vice Chancellor was called upon and Prof. Pandit was of the opinion that Prof. Nanjundayya and Prof. Narasimham were the rare divine gifts by Swami to the university. Mr. Nanjundayya was very keen in setting the exam paper in a proper manner, made sure the examination was conducted in a well planned manner and the declaration of the results were also on time come what may. Many universities in India, face so many difficulties in exams, many a times we read about the question paper being leaked before the exam, some times out of syllabus questions come and many a times the results are very confusing and also delayed for reasons unknown. But in Sri Sathya Sai University, thanks to Prof. Nanjundayya, the results are announced on time and there is no scope for delay or confusion.

Prof. Pandit was also all praise for Prof. Lakshmi Narasimham who worked tirelessly for the betterment of the university. Being the Registrar, is definitely not a easy job. Every day, the job involves lots of problem solving and if anything went wrong the registrar is answerable to Swami. Mr. Narasimham has a very sharp mind and was very quick in solving day to day problems with his presence of mind. It is nothing but Swami’s blessing that they all are here at this level. They did lot of sacrifice and they deserve all the praise and blessings from Swami.

It was almost 11:30am by then and the beautiful morning session which had a humble expression of thanks giving by Swami to His chosen ones came to an end with arathi and Prasad to all of us.

AFTERNOON DARSHAN:

Like in the morning the Sai Kulwanth hall was packed to the brim before time and it was yet again a very long wait for all us. Swami arrived in the hall to bless us with His divine darshan at 6pm yet again it was Swami’s chosen time and we had nothing to say except immerse in the ocean of bliss seeing His beautiful form filled with love. Swami came in the same car chair like in the morning but this time in His usual orange robe.

After taking a full round, Swami came on to the dais. When Swami’s blessings showers it pours and the 4 blessed ones in the morning were called on the dais again. This time Swami asked for the mike and in few minutes it was silence all over the place eagerly waiting for those sweet words.

Swami’s divine discourse was full of gratitude and appreciation. He came down to the human level and said thank you to those four noble men who gave their everything for Swami’s work. With Swami, many a times we get an impression that we are not being recognized. Many working in His organization be it in Puttaparthi or overseas, complain that we are doing this, we did that but Swami never recognized. Swami, by His gesture on this Gurupoornima, send a clear message that what ever they are thinking is totally wrong. Swami is omnipresent and is watching us all very keenly. Many a times we feel that we are not being recognized or our work is not being applauded and that is when we all have to intensify our faith on Swami and keep doing His work with more enthusiasm as it is a very rare boon to do His work and rather thank Swami for making us WORTHY ENOUGH for that boon.

Swami started His divine discourse saying Prema Swaroopulara, filled with love and courtesy, Swami said, this morning I didn’t get a chance to speak about these four people. Appa Rao worked in hospital for more than 14 years. He worked very hard. THAT MADE ME VERY HAPPY. All these people here came to Me not for work but to serve. They all served day in and day out. In the beginning, there was more work in the hospital. Many things were not organized and there was so much to do be it regarding the machinery, equipment, recruitment, medicines etc. But Appa Rao never looked back. He worked with full of devotion and satisfaction. He never expected anything. No money. Many doctors and paramedical staff get paid in our hospitals and some doctors even get more than 30,000 rupees a month but this didn’t bother Appa Rao. He worked without any expectations. Both brothers here are very good. The youngest in Lakshmi Narasimham.

Appa Rao worked a lot supervising the hospital. It was a very difficult job for him but he did it very well. Till now no one said thanks to him. When Swami said it is necessary to thank him there was a big round of applauds. Swami then continued.. He still has the mental sharpness but physically he is not strong. Day by day patients started increasing. So I told him to retire. He helped and guided the poor people coming to the hospital. All were benefited by him but no one served him. MY HEART MELT SEEING HIS DEVOTION IN WORK. He considered hospital as his own home. Whether Swami is present or not, he was there. Swami then announced I WAS ALWAYS WITH HIM THROUGH OUT HIS TIME. After the opening of orthopaedic department he had more work. I Appreciate his work. Swami then very kindly had some word of praise to his wife as well. .He was very well supported by his wife.

Sathyanarayana Murthy was an electric engineer. He also did a great job in hospital. He maintained all the electrical gadgets very well. If there was any problem he used to go and work even in the night. All of them worked very hard.

Lakshminarasimham is the younger brother . He served in our university as Registrar. He is also aged now. He remained as a bachelor in order to serve Swami full time. He started as a sevadal member. To be with us he did his Phd also. All brothers served most faithfully.

Nanjundayya served as controller of Examinations. He spent many sleepless nights to declare results on time. Inspite of fever he was attending the examinations. He used to be in touch with all examiners. He was very prompt in responding to all the campuses. He worked very hard. Waching his hard work I FELT VERY SAD many times. His wife also served a lot by sending food to Swami. All these people here used to keep Me informed through letters. I used to enquire everything about exams. I THANK BOTH AND BLESS THEM ALL. They may be any where I will always be with them. They didn’t come here to work but for Swami. They will be given houses within the ashram premises. You will be guiding all the devotees who come to the ashram and to the hospital.

Our university has grown beyond limits. There are thousands and thousands of application every year. At all levels they have full faith in our administration. There is nothing like mis-management in our institutions. In Sathya Sai Institutions it is all giving and giving. Our university and hospital is No.1 in the world. Iam very happy with you all. You belong to Me.

These two people here have considered this hospital as Swami’s hospital and have worked tirelessly. That is why our hospital stands number one.

Talking about the university Swami continued to say - "Our university is also matchless. We maintain very high standards. Students are getting good name. many times parents keep applying for admission in our schools. They want their child to study only in Swami’s school. Many a times I personally admit them. We want welfare of the student community. This year about 14 students have joined for the Phd programme.

In our institution there is no money collection. Everything here is FREE. All are surprised and shocked as how we operate with out taking any money. We don’t take even a Nayapaisa. All students pass in distinction. For us love is important and not money. Here everything is Heart to heart and love to love. We have nothing to do with money. People are thrilled about this. Patients come from far away places like Nepal, Bhutan etc for treatment. All arrangements are made in our hospitals. We even pay government salaries to the salaries to our staff. There is no need for donations. I have made all arrangements for the proper functioning of our institutions.

Patients who come here need not worry at all. I WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU. Parents are also very happy. All students should help their parents. DON’T SEND YOUR PARENTS TO OLD AGE HOMES. Don’t do like that. Aspire for their happiness".

Turning the topic to the working mothers, Swami asked them to have a second opinion of them going to work leaving the children alone at home.

Udyogamulu cheya vanitalandaru pova, griha krityamulu teerchu vanita evvaru

(if women go to offices who will take care of the house)

Para baluranu nerpa patha salalaku yega tama baluraku nerpu talli evaru

( you go out to teach others’ children in school, which mother will teach your own child)

It is your responsibility to teach your children, take care of them. I feel very sad about working women who don’t have time to take care of their own children. What do you need. It is enough if you can give right conduct and good food to your children. Children are becoming very weak now a days after eating food cooked outside, drinking polluted water. Concentrate on your own family first.

The house management now a days has gone down so much. The mother doesn’t know what is there in the house and what is to be bought. They call the cook from office saying there is a tea party in the evening and ask him to prepare tea and chappathis. In reality there is no tea powder, no sugar and no flour at home. How can the poor Cook, cook for the tea party. This is the pitiable situation now a days. You go to work for a salary of 1500 rupees a month. You pay about 700 rupees to the cook and the remaining money comes to you at the cost of your child’s future who is devoid of proper food, guidance which is very important.

Respect your parents. Give the food that is prepared by you. Take care of your family and make your parents happy. THAT WILL MAKE ME HAPPY.

So saying Swami concluded His hour long divine discourse which followed by bhajans by students and prasadam distribution. It was yet another long evening like yesterday and the SAI SHOW’s curtains went down at 8:15pm.

Thus ended a beautiful and memorable Gurupoornima which will be remembered as a thanks giving gathering to those four humble Hanumans who served our Lord SAI RAMA whole heartedly and with LOVE to those UNSUNG heroes who were instrumental in smooth functioning of Swami’s two divine institutions.… a definite lesson for all of us to work with more faith and devotion.. At the end of the day what a blessing it would be to get a WELL DONE pat from none other than our beloved Lord Himself..

(pls excuse me if there were any shortcomings in this report)

With humble pranams at the lotus feed of our beloved Lord,

JAI SAI RAM

Sat Guru Poornima

Sai Ram Blessed Bhaktas of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Today the Heavens opened on this day of days, Guru Poornima.

My friend Jalpa was able to obtain special permission for us to once more enjoy excellent seating on East Prashanti veranda.

Swami came around 10AM dressed in beautiful Krishna yellow robe. What Heavenly Darshan watching Him slowly glide down the center aisle in full splendor from the balcony directly in front of our grateful eyes. We watched Him orbit through the men's section and circle past us and through the students.

Once on the Veranda, Anil Kumar spoke and introduced two men who spoke at length. There were other personalities who were commemorated and garlanded during this time. Two in particular were praised, a husband and wife who worked tirelessly for Bhagavan administrating the Super Specialty Hospital and the Sri Sathya Sai Universities, Mr. and Mrs. Narasimha murthy ( not sure of the name spelling so forgive me).

Darshan ended around 11:30AM and our gorgeous Swami returned to His residence.

Afternoon Darshan we were allowed lovely seating in East Prashanti again. A woman who decorates Swami's residence with flowers and garlands gave Jalpa and I a beautiful piece of jasmine garland directly from Baba's residence and we also received some lingam water taken from Ati Rudra Maha Yagna lingam located inside the Prashanti prayer hall and meditation sanctuary ~ Paradise! We waited for the appearance of the Lord of the Universe. Swami came close to 6PM, amidst vigorous and rousing bhajans.

He was wearing orange dress, looking so resplendent and radiant, He circled the mandir. As He turned the corner to go into the students section He looked up towards us and circled His upturned hand ~Double Paradise!!

Once on the dais, He called the divine couple from the morning darshan up to sit next to Him. He praised them over and over, exalting their selfless, tireless service and love. He promised to bless them, and gave them a permanent residence at Prashanti. He said that they were forever His.

Swami declared that Sathya Sai Schools are 1st class in distinction. He also spoke on how the hospitals are serving thousands of patients free of cost.

Swami emphasized during His discourse that we must act responsibly regarding care of our children, making sure they are properly fed and at the right time. He said that if both parents work who will take care of the children properly. Swami went on to encourage us to take care of our aging parents ourselves and to not put them in homes for the aged.
He said the care of our parents is our responsibility. We must serve them and make sure they are properly fed.

He also mentioned that He has honored the elderly today so we may emulate their example of selfless service.

There was a lot more said that will be available in the future.

Swami took araathi and returned to His blessed residence.

Lots of Prema

Guru Poornima 2009 - Evening Discourse

Bhagawan started of the evening Discourse saying that He was not allowed to speak on the wonderful people who were honoured in the morning.

Swami Bhagawan had all the good words about the seniors who were felicitated in the morning. Appa Rao who has been serving as auditor right from the inception of the hospital has taken care of everything in minute details putting an all-round show. He has been rendering service without any expectation and without remuneration.

Referring to the service rendered by the other two brothers of Mr. Appa Rao, Mr. Sathya Narayana Murthy, Sr. Engineer in the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram and Dr. Lakshmi Narasimham, outgoing Registrar of Sri Sathya Sai University, Bhagawan said that all the three brothers were serving Bhagawan with utmost dedication. Hailing Mr. Appa Rao’s yeomen service to the hospital, he said it would be difficult to leave and lose such a person. He has taken care of everything most meticulously, taking everything as his own responsibility and put in all his hard work for the development of the hospital. Mentioning that the special session was convened in honour of Mr. Appa Rao, Bhagawan said, He was immensely pleased, touched and moved by his dedicated hard work.

Dr. Lakshmi Narasimham has done a lot to the best of his satisfaction without any complaints. It is absolutely necessary to thank him profusely for his hard work. Being a bachelor he has dedicated his life for the welfare of the university. He had no other responsibilities and his lone concern was the welfare of the university. Starting his career as a Sevadal, with an intention to serve the university, he completed his Ph.D. to join the Brindavan Campus as a lecturer.

Hailing Prof. Nanjundaiah, the outgoing Controller of Examinations, for his systematic approach towards the examination system, Bhagawan made a mention of the exalted status of the Institute which has become a reputed institution of national and international reckoning.

In an apparent reference to the prevailing corrupt practice in the educational and medical system, Bhagawan said that in Sathya Sai Institutions no such collections and no corruptions could be found. Neither students nor patients need to worry, said Bhagawan assuring that he would take care of them.

Making a mention of the girls going to work, Bhagawan asked: if you go to school to teach other children who will take care of your children? A woman who goes to work will never be happy; it is their responsibility to take care of their children and parents. Parents should be well taken care of. They should not be kept at ‘home for the aged’; keep them with you; feed them and take care of them. It is an absolute must to take care of your home and responsibilities. Students should take note of it. This is right education, said Bhagawan.

Discoursing on the greater importance of emulating the ideal lives of elders, Bhagawan exhorted the students to follow the path shown by the elders to come up in life.

Bhajans continued for sometime after the Divine Discourse before Arathi was offered to Bhagawan.

Earlier the evening session started as usual at 1700 hrs. with Bhajans and devotees had a long wait till 1800 hrs. when Bhagawan came out of His Abode. After completing His usual round, coming onstage Bhagawan called for the couples, Mrs. & Mr. Appa Rao and Mrs. & Mr. Nanjundaiah, materialized gold coins for both the ladies before commencing His Divine Discourse.

Prasanthi Update - Guru Poornima 2009

On the eve of Guru Poornima yesterday, there was a wonderful Programme by the youth from Tamilnadu. Bhagawan came at around 5.30pm. After reaching the centre of Kulwant hall, Bhagawan chose to cut short His darshan round and without going to the gents side, Swami came off to the portico and on to the stage. This led to a lot of disappointment among the Thousands gathered in Kulwanth Hall for Divine Darshan. But does Swami the compassionate Lord ever dissapoint.

To everyone's joy and happiness, Bhagawan called for the microphone and the Divine Discourse Podium, even then everyone asumed that Swami would make an announcement about the Tamilnadu programme, then Swami called for His Mike and to the immense joy of all, Bhagawan gave a wonderful Divine Discourse.

Swami started with the Shloka " Gurur Brahma "and explained the same wonderfully. Below are some wonderful points about the Divine Discourse :

1. Bhagawan emphasized on Deiva Preeti,Papa beethi and Sanga neethi
He said that nowadays people are not afraid of committing sins, But they cannot escape and never will escape the consequences of their sinful actions.

2. Swami spoke about morality that is needed to be cultivated by every individual. For Morality to be cultivated one should have fear of sin. Bhagawan also said Do good, Be good and See good, this is the way to God.

3. Bhagawan then emphasized that Time waste is Life waste and no one should waste time. Always do and engage in good activities and stay away from all bad thoughts.

Swami wonderfully said that "One who does not have Papa beethi (fear of sin) is worst than a kothi (monkey).

4. Swami said that if one does not have morality he will looked down as worst than a dog. Swami repeatedly emphasized about morality and also said that if one has to reach the meditation stage then one needs to concentrate and contemplate.

Swami also announced that the Chennai Devotees will be putting up programme.

The Drama was a wonderful treat for everyone and one of the best put up in Kulwanth Hall in recent times. The Songs, dance and dialogues were very good. Many of the Alumni of the Sathya Sai University were actors in the Drama which made it even more wonderful.

The main theme of the Drama was that how Kaliyuga is more blessed than all the other yugas as time and again there arose Saints, Sages and Godmen who propagated the Divine Path of spirituality and lead people to lead a more Divine and Moral life.

Sage Vyasa, after foreseeing the problems of the Kali Yuga, prays to Lord Krishna as to what would happen to the kaliyuga because there was so much of greed, jealousy, poverty among other evils. Krishna tells him that He has seen only the bad and negative side of the Kali Yuga, but there are many Positives also .

Lord Sri Krishna reveals how time and again there will be avatars, sages, saints and devotees of God who will propagate spirituality and devotion. The Drama portrayed through the various scenes depicting the advent of the Divine Jesus, Mohamed, Gurunanak, Kabir, Tukaram, Meera,Adisankara, Madhvacharya, Ramanujacharya.

Then finally Lord Krishna reveals that He himself will incarnate in the Kali Yuga and reveals the Divine form that He will take. It was a beautiful ending to the Drama when Lord Krishna describes the form he would assume in the Kaliyuga as our Dearest and Divine Lord Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. Thus bringing to an end a most wonderful Drama. Bhagawan was very impressed and the Programme ended at around by 7.30.

Today Morning the Sacred Gurupoornima festival was celebrated with a differently from any of the other previous years.

Bhagawan came at around 10am and after a Wonderful Guru Poornima Darshan to everyone, Bhagawan came on the stage. Unusually there were some Chairs kept on the stage apart from Bhagawan's chair.

The Morning Program was to felicitate a few of the chosen devotees who had done great Service to Swami and the Sathya Sai Institutions. They were very familiar people and Swami told Prof Anil Kumar to speak and introduce them. They were :

Sri A V Appa Rao - Former Chief administrative officer SSSIHMS
Sri A V Sathyanarayan Murthy - Former Chief Engineer, SSSIHMS
Prof Dr A V lakshminarasimham - Former Registrar,SSSU
Sri M Nanjundaiah - Former Controller of Exams, SSSU

Swami felicitated these wonderful people for their services that they have rendered at His feet for the last almost 40 years. They were garlanded and later Swami gave them some silver plates as a token of His Divine Love. It was a wonderful Programme unlike others we have seen during any major functions. The Morning Programme got over by around 12 noon.

Heaven we're in Heaven

Om Sai Ram!!!!! Beloved Bhaktas of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

"Heaven" cannot describe the sheer ecstasy of this afternoon darshan. The Mandir has robed herself in festive hues in preparation for Guru Poornima, the Day of Her Lord. Silky madarin orange, orchid white, chiffon pink, baby blue streamers flutter softly. Large Chinese red and gold globe lanterns hang from the royal ceilings of Prashanti Palace. Folds of golden satin drapery adorn the front of the veranda and the majestic pillars wear matching dress. The walls are lined with photos  of Sai Avatar, Sat Guru, The Guru of Gurus.

Beloved Lord Sai entered the mandir after 5PM today. A drama prepared by Bal Vikas students from Tamil Nadu was waiting to be presented. As our magnificent Guru glided onto the veranda He came to to the front and after awhile proceeded to speak!!!!

Anil Kumar came forward, and Swami's discourse began. His voice was soft but gradually grew louder. Swami stressed the importance of morality, over and over He referred to morality and how the world lacks morality. He indicated that the reason there is a lack of morality is because there is no fear of sin and the consequences of sin. He warned us that no one can escape the results of their bad actions. Bhagavan said we must remember three important points: Love of God, Fear of sin and Morality in society. He said that instead of morality importance is placed on money, property and family, saying "Money comes and goes, Morality comes and grows." He discussed the nature of the Atma, it's infinite splendour and beauty. He said although forms and religions may appear different the very same Atma is the basis of all.

At one point a heavy downpour interrupted the discourse and Swami said we should not be afraid, we have been waiting for these rains. He mentioned the floods of Orissa and how no one came to the aid of the people of Orissa during their great losses except Bhagavan.

He lectured on meditation and how before we can properly and effectively meditate there must be concentration and then contemplation and then we enter into meditation in which we lose consciousness of our individual self.

There was a lot more said but I am sure His discourse will be available soon.

Sending you this sweet prasadam from our Lord Sai.

Lots of Prema

Om Sai Ram - Salient points - July 6th evening Discourse

1.Each and everyone should ensure that no bad looks, bad actions, bad thoughts are committed as severe consequences have to be faced. Man without morality in society is no human being at all and righteous Living is most important.

2.Love for God is very very essential. Swami said that the three important principles were Be Good, Do Good, See Good. without these three any spiritual things you do are a waste of time. Swami also said that There should be only one name, Atma, that is, consciousness. Same consciousness indwells in each and everything and everyone.

3. Swami wonderfully said that none should be afraid of rains, and hailstorms. Swami also said that He had given His Divine Assurance to the effected people of the state of Orissa that there should not Worry and should be Happy as Swami was with them.

4. Swami also said that one might escape from the sights of the society, but one never try to escape the eyes of the God. Swami said that if one is interested in doing something he or she should do good or should not do anything at all.Swami said that each and everything is the gift of the Divine.

Sai Blessings for USA

Sairam beloved devotees of Swami

Our precious Krishna Sai came early for afternoon darshan, He circled the Mandir a spectacular glow on His blessed face. Then went up onto the veranda and came back down again giving double darshan but going through the students section.

He sat out with us, amidst Vedic chants, love beams shooting like fireworks in every direction. Then the real fireworks began for the 4th of July!!! He called the Heartland, USA group in for an interview. joyfully they filed out of the darshan area the men going onto the veranda and the ladies entering the sancturary from behind the veranda. They were all obviously floating on air, i haven't received the details of the interview but I am sure you will all hear soon.

After some time our Lord came back out and joined us and bhajans began. Swami! Swami! no matter how may times we gaze upon Your captivating form, there is no end to Your Ananda!

People of the earth you don't know what you are missing! He who sent Jesus is here amongst us! O world I weep for your misfortune if You lose this chance of many lifetimes!

Our Heavenly Father Sai blessed us at the conclusion of araathi and then returned to His celestial residence.

Lots of Bliss, Prema and Shanti

The Ocean of Light, Life and Love

Sai Ram Sai Ram!

Yesterday evening Darshan Lord Sai blessed us with a Bal Vikas drama performed by the students of Maharastra. It was a superb performance enjoyed by Swami and His devotees, on the sacred life of Gajanan Maharaj.

This morning beautiful, beautiful Baba graced us with His sublime presence. So much love flowed in rapturous torrents, I can still feel the waves pouring over me.

Swami sat out with us on the veranda and showered us with His divine love looks. We all sang bhajans at the glorious feet of Bhagavan on this blessed Sunday preceding Guru Poornima celebrations.

The Ocean of Light

More beautiful than a necklace of sapphire stars
dangling from evening's raven throat
or a lake of swans reflecting the colors of a rainbow
The Sun has poured out all His gold into your
luminous eyes ~ Swami
From the crown of Your head
to the tips of Your toes
all we realize is Light!

Brilliant rays fall across the
fleeting shadows in our lives
and all we know is
eternal life

Whirlpools of rapture rush through
the Mandir chasing away all traces
of sorrow and ignorance
and all we experience is Pure Love!

Sai Shiva
You are the Ocean of
Sathyam Shivam Sundaram!
Om Sai Ram!

Prasanthi Update - Divine Memories taken back in time

As always when Aashaadi, it is the day of joy for the Maharashtrians. Every year devotees from Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra come to the Lord's Divine Lotus Feet and present before Bhagawan some wonderful Cultural Programmes. Over the many years the quality and magnitude of these festivity have increased in a very big way and as the eager and wonderful devotees go all out to please the Lord in every possible way. This year also there was no exception.

The uniqueness of this year’s celebrations was the very special stage that was erected in Sai Kulwant hall. In Morning Swami did not come for Darshan and the programme was held in the evening. After the initial introductions and some nice music, some of the participants of the Programme took Swami's blessings and went up the stage.

The theme of the Programme was visits of Swami to various places in Maharastra. The wonderful Programme took everyone present to those great and wonderful old days when Bhagawan paid visits to places like Sholapur and Pandarpur among other places. The Programme also nicely depicted that how in each of these places there were great saints who came to change the the people and bring them to the path of Divine Spirituality. The Whole programme was a mixture of dialogue, songs and dance, In short the Programme was a wonderful and true portrayal of the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra.

One of the dialogue that touched everyone’s heart and brought an instant smile was asking Swami if everyone will be able to experience all those Wonderful days again. It was a great and touching moment as those days were the most wonderful days that anyone can imagine in His Divine Presence.

As the Programme was a bit long and as Swami came only after 5.30pm, Swami cut short the programme, although by not much as it was it probably another five minutes before the Programme was to end. Swami blessed one of the actors with a Golden Creation and also blessed everyone of the participants.

Everyone present during the Programme were transported to Bhagawan's Wonderful yester years filled with Great Divine Memories.

Ashadi Ekadashi

Today we celebrated Ashadi Ekadashi. A huge group from the state of Maharashtra presented a music and dance program, entitled Maharashtra Bhakti Gatha performed by the Bal Vikas students of Mumbai.

The Lord of the Universe was welcomed by a group of young men wearing white and gold turbans blowing conches. The lively and high spirited presentation was enjoyed by everyone. There was a particularly tender moment when one young boy recalled Swami's visit to the state of Maharashtra some years back and asked Swami if he would like to view photos of that particular time. Our divine Father consented and an album was presented for His viewing pleasure.

Swami materialized a chain for one man in the group, aarathi was performed and our beloved Sai took leave of us and returned to His residence.

Shalom Shalom

Sairam Peaceful embodiments of the golden age

I've just returned from a magical evening darshan with our Lord Sai. Swami treated us to another great musical program, Indian Master Musician, Pandit Suresh Talwalkar an expert in field of Indian classical music and Master Tabla Player. His musical team of tabla players and other instrumentalists brought bliss to the ears of Prashanti and once again we were transported to heights divine.

Lord Sai gifted the musicians with white shawls and cloth and the one female musician with a sari.It was an unforgettable night under the stars with the Lord of the Universe.

tatata ta tatata ta ta

the tabla is chanting
tatata ta tatata ta ta
dark red eyed clouds
have gathered behind
the mandir
and the mighty footsteps
of Sai Shiva thunders
through our Souls
where is our home Lord?
many lifetimes fly by
still we forget...
wandering minstrels
nomad orphans
banging the drum of
our longing....
this dream that never
seems to end...
O Sai help us to
remember
please...awaken

Lots of Prema
sonya ki

Prasanthi Update - 1st July - A Memorable Musical evening

The Aashadi Ekadasi festival is on 3rd of this month and it is usually a Great and Wonderful chance for the Devotees from Mumbai to celebrate the Festival with great Devotion in the Divine presence. This year also they all have assembled and the Programmes started yesterday morning which had Vedam chanting for almost one hour by the Mumbai devotees which resulted in no Bhajans.

In the Evening there was a nice Vocal Music Programme and Swami  materialized a gold chain for the lady singer at the end of the Programme. The wonderful part of the evening was the singing of the most melodious songs, although they were only three in number they were most melodious and Bhagawan and everyone else enjoyed the singing.

Of Course Swami has His Divine way to praise and publicize the talents of His students and this was one such occasion. Just immediately after the music program by the lady singer, Swami indicated to the students to sing some Bhajans with an aalap, and after that Swami called one of the students and instructed him and the result was a superb and a wonderful " oh vittale" which enthralled everyone present. Swami then took Mangala Aarathi and retired to Yajur Mandiram thereby brining to an end a most memorable Musical evening.
