"God has a million names, a million forms. Select any name of His that appeals to you. Choose any form of His. Every day when you awaken to the call of the brightening East, recite the Name, meditate on the Form. Keep the Name and Form as your companion, guide, and guardian throughout the waking hours. When you retire for the night, offer grateful homage to God in that Form, with that Name - for being with you, by you, beside you, before you, behind you, all day long. Know that within the many forms and many names, God is present is all of them. The inner being is, in reality, only One." - BHAGAWAN SRI SATHYA SAI BABA

From Cleanliness to Godliness

A Nation wide Cleanliness Drive by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, India from 2nd October to 20th October, 2016.

Here is a direct Message from the All India President - Shri Nimish Oandya of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, India.

The The Nationall Programme of 'Swachata Se Divyata Tak" - 2nd October to 20 Th October 2016.

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Sai Ram

The core of Spiritual Sadhana, as explained by Bhagawan is on the foundation of Cleanliness. Bhagawan always stressed upon the Principle "Cleanliness is Godliness". Our members of the Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, have always been practicing this as a Divine Commandment. In fact Swami was the perfect practitioner of this Principle.

The cleanliness at the Ashram of Prashanthi Nilayam and at the two Super Speciality Hospitals is their hallmark. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, as a true Devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has rightly launched "Swacha Bharat Abhiyan". In his tweet to the youth at the International Youth Festival held at Prashanthi Nilayam in July 2016, Shri Narendra Mody had called upon the youth of the Sai Organisation to be a part of his mission of cleanliness.

We have gone one step ahead and with the consent of all of you decided to launch a nationwide programme of "Swachata Se Divyata Tak" on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October to the Avataar Declaration Day of our Beloved Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on 20th October, 2016. During this period every Samithi in the country will embark upon this Programme as per the Policy Document enclosed below.

Every member, bhajan singer, Bal Vikas student, Bal Vikas Guru , Balvikas parent, Seva dal,all Sai Schools, every Vidya jyothi school, members of the SSVIP Villages , youth members , mahila vibhag members, office bearers, trust members etc will participate from whereever they are located as per the instructions of the State Presidents. The State Presidents will seek guidance, if required, from Shri Bharat Jhaver, State President of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, who will be monitoring the Programme along with my office and myself.

There will be a provision for uploading the activities during this period directly from the venue to a dedicated site. These instructions will come from the National IT Team very shortly.

I wish that you see the enclosed Preamble to the Programme. Please distribute the Preamble and the Policy Document in your state widely and in the local language and I request that each one of you personally monitor this programme as we owe this to Our Master and to the Nation. It maybe interesting to note that if we dedicate this Programme to Swami in prayer and if by His Grace we succeed, we will be the biggest Organisation supporting the Hon'ble Prime Minister in this Mission and our Swami's message will reach millions, not only in this country but all over the world.

I am releasing a recorded message addressed to all on Sunday the 17th September 2016. Kindly help me to ensure that all are able to hear that message till the grass root level in your state so that all are enthused about the programme.
I would wish that each State President also relays the message recorded by me in the his own voice and in the language of the state and oblige.

Dear Brothers this is one more opportunity to sing our Swami's glory by action, for this too is nothing short of a melodious Bhajan.
Lets participate in large numbers from all ages and offer this Service at The Divine Lotus Feet of Swami and to our Bharat Mata.

I have personally addressed a letter to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of this Programme.

Loving Regards

"Nari Ek Shakthi" - 24th September 2016

Women are the repositories of character and virtue. Proving this point, portraying the inestimable potency and power of women, students from the Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Dharmakshetra and Aksa Village, Mumbai presented a Musical Dance Drama entitled "Nari Ek Shakthi" this evening on the second session of the ongoing National Mahila Convention in Prasanthni Nilayam. The presentation that was originally conceived over two decades ago, in 1996, had a long wait until the D-Day dawned today here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The Dance Drama in beautiful skits depicted the women as Crown Jewel of His Creation, presenting stories as often narrated by Bhagawan in His Divine discourses. Stories included that of Gopikas unstinting devotion to Lord Krishna, the illustrious story of Savitri, who with her power of chastity could win her dead husband back from the hands of YamaDharmaRaja, story of Putli Bhai, illustrious mother of Gandhiji, who with her strict parenting adhering to Truth and Righteousness could present a great son to Mother India, story of Easwar Chandra Vidya Sagar whose life was moulded by the character of his mother, etc.

It was the story of transformation of a modern-day heart, that discounted the virtuous presence of his better half at home.

A song of glory to Mother Easwaramma next was followed by a final skit, on the illustrious fight shown by a little North East girl who braved the British Army, holding aloft the Indian Flag, dedicating and sacrificing her life selflessly for Mother India.

A final song "Vande Sai Maa.." marked the culmination of the colourful evening presentation.

Earlier, the session commenced at 1700 hrs with a speech in Hindi that was followed by a felicitation ceremony.

ALL INDIA MAHILA CONVENTION - Morning Program in Prasanthi Nilayam...

In line with the holistic view ever emphasised by Bhagawan on women, celebrating the Womanhood, a 2-day All India Mahila Convention is being organised by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations - India, a first of its kind event in Prasanthi Nilayam. The Convention got underway this morning in Sai Kulwant Hall, inaugurated by Smt Kamala Pandya, National Coordinator, Mahila Wing, SSSSO. Addressing the vast audience of over 3000 pan-Indian women participants, Smt Pandya, herself a Balvikas veteran, beautifully narrated the story of creation, wherein God created the most potent part of His creation, the woman. The SSSS in the prestigious Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations stands for the wholesome message for every single devotee, Silent Sitting and Prayer, Study Of Sai Literature, Self Audit to move on to Selfless Seva, reminded the speaker advocating the greater need for everyone to understand the inner strength each one has been conferred upon.

A Compendium on the topic, "Women - The Pillar Of Strength And Values" was released next, by Sri V Srinivasan, former President Of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations.

The Chief Guest for the day was Smt Vandita Sharma, IAS, who belongs to the Karnataka Cadre, also had her stint with the Central Government in various capacities. Deliberating on the topic, "The Role Of Women In Inculcating Values In Society In A Value Based Society", the speaker emphasised that despite a great decline in the status of women, after a glorious past from the Vedic times, women are still the foundation stone and pillar of the family, society, country and thus the world. Having placed at the crossroads now, we are in the midst of a very very turbulent society, wherein rampant materialism, onslaught of consumerism, with erosion in the focus of society leading to sense gratification getting an upper hand, reminded Smt Sharma, emphasising the greater relevance of women in today's complicated times. One side a woman is as soft as butter and on the other side, she is as strong as steel, reminded the speaker, exhorting fellow participants to live up to their inner spirits.

Selected dignitaries from different States were honoured next, for their outstanding contribution to the Sri Sathya Sai Service activities. A musical programme next by the Karnataka Wing of SSSSO was the final offering for the morning.

Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi.

Earlier in the morning, an exhibition entitled "Sri Sathya Sai Arpanam" by the Mahila Wing of SSSSO was inaugurated at the Sathsangh Hall near the Book Trust building by Sri V Srinivasan, former All India President Of SSSSO.

Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi national project launched

Value-based education is the need of the hour and Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations are doing incalculable service to the society by imparting such education to students, according to HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. He was addressing the students, parents and volunteers after formally launching the Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi national project here at the Sathya Sai School in MVP Colony on Sunday. He said Sri Sathya Sai Baba had laid emphasis on providing quality education, medicare and drinking water to the public. It was quite commendable that his ideals were being pursued by the organisation in letter and spirit.

The Minister said he would instruct the DEOs of different districts to co-operate with the volunteers of the organisation in executing the project. The project, which got under way in April this year, would cover 900 government schools across the country, 100 of them in Andhra Pradesh and 98 in Telangana.

The aim of this Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi project is to take up existing semi operational, makeshift, dilapidated government primary schools and turn them into fully operational, well structured, collaborative schools. Ultimately, they should operate as a good healthy learning ecosystem.

The Minister earlier launched a website www.sssvj.org on the occasion.

National president of the organisation Nimish Pandya said that Sri Sathya Sai had always held that “education provides solution to all problems and ultimately it leads to salvation.” He thanked the AP Government for its co-operation.

President of the AP and Telangana units S.G. Chalam said that the project aimed at improving the infrastructure in the selected government schools, providing training to the students as well as teachers without in any way interfering with the curriculum or syllabus, and in general improving the quality of education.

Press Release by Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust September 17, 2016

Sri Sathya Sai Ghat at the Holy Rishikesh

We are giving below a detailed coverage of the Inauguration of Sri Sathya Sai Ghat at Rishikesh on the banks of River Ganga, other related activities organized by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organizations – India during September 09 -11, 2016, Special article for our readers and devotees.

Chief Public Relations Officer

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand now has an exclusive riverfront named after Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Amidst Vedic chants, homams, and Prasanthi mandir bhajans, the deva bhoomi inaugurated the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat with a spiritually-charged, 3 day program from September 9-11, 2016.

The three day celebrations began with traditional music of Uttarakhand and Veda chanting by Veda chanters from Prasanthi Nilayam who were joined by the best rudram chanters from Sai samithis across India and the students of the Sai School of Rishikesh. The full-throated rendition of the Sanskrit chants promoted by Bhagawan Baba echoed across the valley and were welcomed by the adjoining ashrams, saints and sages living in the lush forests rising across the river.

A Ganesha homam was performed on September 9th to seek divine blessings for the success of the program. This was followed by the musical presentations by the Bal Vikas Alumni from Haryana-Chandigarh, adding further to the spiritually charged ambiance of the SSS Ghat with the holy Ganga flowing in the background.

The highlights of September 9 evening included a play on Ganga Maa presented by the students of the Rishikesh Sai School and the rendition of Sai bhajans by the Prasanthi Mandir bhajan group who concluded their session with a special medley of bhajans based on the 'Ganga' theme.

The students of the Sai School at Rishikesh then performed the synchronised Ganga aarthi with their well-lit lamps reflecting on the waves of the river. This was followed by Sathya Sai aarthi. Thus began a grand tradition that is to continue for eternity – the offering of the two aarthis at the SSS Ghat at Rishikesh.

Earlier in the day, the spacious Sai Annapoorna Dining Hall (60 feet by 30 feet) was inaugurated by Sri S.S. Naganand, member, SSS Central Trust.

September 10, began with the early morning Nagar Sankirtan across Laxman Jhoola (the pedestrians-only suspension bridge) which proved refreshingly memorable for all involved.

Shri Nimish Pandya, the All India President of the SSS Seva Organisation of India inaugurated the spacious Sri Sathya Sai Ghat at Rishikesh. Lord Ganesha presides over the entrance of the ghat which is a 30 feet by 20 feet architectural gem reflecting great attention to detail, including the signature pastel colour scheme of Sai ashrams.

After the procession of Veda chanters down the ghat, the Ekadasi Saarvajanik Rudra Abhishekam, conducted by Shri Veda Narayan was well-attended by Sai devotees and office bearers from all over India and abroad. Everyone present got an opportunity to perform linga abhishekam with holy Ganga water.

This was followed by the second session of Sai bhajans by the Prasanthi Bhajan group. The final medley based on 'Rishikesha' enthralled the devotees who joyfully braved the sun to lend their voices to the chorus.

The second highlight of the day was the inauguration of the Paduka Mandir by SSS Central Trust member Sri R.J. Ratnakar. The padukas or lotus feet of the Lord carved in pure white marble were installed with due ceremonies in the specially set-up mandir on the ghat, now known as the Paduka Mandir. These padukas were brought from Prasanthi Nilayam mandir where they had been sanctified by the power of the continuous prayers held in the prayer hall for the past 40 years.

The grand concert by Bhagavan's students from Prasanthi Nilayam on the evening of September 10, 2016 left everyone on a mystical high.

Renowned bhajan singer, Sri Anup Jalota also presented a melodious concert on the night of September 10. The synchronised Ganga aarti followed by Sri Sathya Sai aarti marked the conclusion of each evening.

A number of breathtaking sculptures along the SSS Ghat capture the glory and the story of river Ganga. The 18 feet tall statue of Mother Ganga sits on the main ghat, beside another statue of Lord Shiva and King Bhagirath in deep meditation.

The entire area is resplendent with various statues that capture the Puranic tales related to the descent of Ganga from the matted locks of Lord Shiva.

Chair of the Sathya Sai International Organisation Dr. Narendranath Reddy inaugurated the 23 feet tall Shiva statue located outside the SSS Mandir.

The image of Lakshmi Narayan on the Ghat was unveiled by SSS Central Trust Member, Justice A.P. Mishra.

The government of Uttarakhand has handed over the 185 linear metre (607 feet) long bank of the Ganga right below the Sri Sathya Sai Mandir to the SSS Trust of Uttarakhand (UK) and Uttar Pradesh (UP).

The SSS Ghat is located along upstream Ganga in Tehri Gharwal, near Laxman Jhoola, where the sacred river is pure, clean and rich in minerals. It will now be maintained by the SSS Trust of UK and UP, and no commercial activities will be permitted on it.

The ghat comprises of a flight of steps leading to the river bank and it lies right below the vast estate that houses the Sri Sathya Sai Mandir, North Prashanti and Bhagavan Baba's residence where He stayed in 1982. A mandir has been built around it to house 350 people for bhajans. This was inaugurated by Sri N. Ramani, the National Vice-President, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation.

On September 11, 2016 the Sri Sathya Sai Vedic Learning Centre & Library was inaugurated by Sri B.G. Pitre, Director, SS Education, India. The learning centre will be open to all for Vedic learning. The centre is supported by a well-equipped library with Vedic literature which was inaugurated by Mrs. Nimmi Kanwar, National Coordinator, Bal Vikas program.

During the celebrations, Sri Ravish Khanna, the Convenor of the SSS Trust of UK & UP announced further plans to commemorate Bhagavan Baba's visit to the region at Badrinath and Varanasi.

Located in the Himalayan foothills in Uttarakhand, the town of Rishikesh is known around the world for its ashrams and yoga centres along the perennial and sacred river Ganga. It is also home to caves and temples where seekers and sages contemplate in quietude, seeking inner wisdom.

Under the able leadership of Principal Mr. Pramod Rana, the SSS School of Rishikesh has earned itself a sterling reputation in the region and the SSS Organisation and the SSS Trust of UK & UP are much respected for their selfless service activities, especially those rendered during the Kedarnath floods of 2013.

The events connected with the inauguration of the SSS Ghat brought a new wave of enthusiasm among the local population and ashramites some of whom have had darshan of Bhagavan Baba during His three visits to the town of Rishikesh in 1957, 1961 and 1982.

The grand inauguration of the SSS Ghat were watched 'live' by 38,000 concurrent users in 69 countries around the globe in various time zones and have revived the interest of Sai devotees everywhere to visit the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat of Rishikesh at the earliest possible opportunity.

Sri Ravish Khanna, Sri Deepak Nautiyal and Sri V.N. Upadhyaya, Trustees of the SSS Trust of UK & UP thanked Bhagavan for the grand opportunity to commemorate His divine visit to Rishikesh and sought His blessings to continue the same at Badrinath and Varanasi.

By giving permission to built this ghat on the banks of River Ganga, the government of Uttarakhand has shown lot of respect and confidence on the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation and when every activity we take is "INLINE" with Swami's directives with no trace or ego and malicious intentions, we are bound to be successful and recognised by the society.

May Swami bless each and every one who has taken part in this holy work.

With Pranams at the Lotus feet of our beloved Lord,

NAGAR SANKEERTHAN ON LAKSHMAN JHULA :

RISHIKESH:As the third and last day of Sri Sathya Sai Ghat inauguration ceremony dawned, hundreds of our Sai brothers and sisters had a nagar sankeertan on Lakshman Jhula. Lakshman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge erected over the Ganges river and is a landmark of Rishikesh. The Bridge is 140 meters long and is 6 feet width.

It is said that Lakshmana (brother of Lord Rama) crossed Ganges on jute ropes between the place where this bridge is built. Lakshman Jhula was completed in 1929 and was a gift of a king by name Sri. Raja Bahadur Surajmal Jhunjhunwala to the people of Rishikesh as the older bridge was washed away by the great flood that devastated Rishikesh in the year 1924. The King built this bridge with a condition that no toll or tax will ever be imposed for crossing this bridge. Even to this day this tradition continues.

Probably, this would have been one of the most unique Nagar Sankeertans any Sai group would have had, sing His glory crossing the holy river Ganges that too on a holy bridge named after Lakshmana. Pure bliss

INTERESTING STORY BEHIND MARBLE PADUKAS INSTALLED IN RISHKESH... 🌹🌹🌹 75 KILOGRAM SWAMI'S MARBLE PADUKAS CONSECRATED IN RISHIKESH: SEPTEMBER 10, 2016

The second day of Sri Sathya Sai Ghat inauguration started with RUDRABHISHEKAM by Brother Veda Narayana and group. At 10:30am, Swami's padukas were brought into the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat to place it in a little temple.

I came to know of an interesting episode about this 75 Kilo Marble Paduka. Apparently Swami got them made some 40 years ago and all these years it was placed in the Bhajan Mandir, in the inner sanctum of the Sai Kulwanth Hall. These Padukas to be installed on the banks of holy Ganges over 40 years later that too in Rishikesh, is nothing but His divine master plan.

It will only be one's wildest dreams to estimate the amount of divine vibrations this Marble Padukas will have for all the Mantras, bhajans that would have been chanted and sung in Prasanthi Nilayam over 4 decades and the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust deciding to dedicate this "powerful" paduka to Mother Ganges is absolutely His divine will and grace. This will give you another "strong" excuse to make a trip to Rishikesh and have the holy dip on Sri Sathya Sai Ghat 😊

As Sri Rathnakar and Sri. Nimish Pandya were holding the Padukas, various state presidents, office bearers of Sri Sathya Sai Organisations, India, and abroad, along with devotees present there leaned to touch the Divine Padukas before this was placed in the designated spot.

May the glory of our beloved Lord spread by leaps and bounds. The Sri Sathya Sai Organisation in India and over seas are taking one step at a time, strictly following the guidelines laid by our beloved Bhagwan with no fan fare or false claims. This is the "perfect tribute" which Swami expected from His devotees. Thousands of His devotees, all over the world, are doing His work silently, just to the extent of as much as they can afford to and come what may, the basic rule of "No solicitation of funds" is strictly adhered to, even by the smallest Sai Center in the world.

The Sri Sathya Sai Organisation of Uttarakhand (where Rishikesh is situated ) and Uttar Pradesh state have done a fantastic job by planning to serve Him and His devotees in this manner.

May our beloved Lord bless us always

SRI SATHYA SAI GHAT INAUGURATION IN RISHIKESH DAY ONE:

The first day of the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat inauguration was filled with ritualistic offerings to Mother Ganges. It was so nice to see Brother Veda Narayana and team from Prasanthi take up the whole proceedings with excellent rendition of relevant mantras for the occasion. It was so nice of the think tank to choose these noble souls instead of so called BIG priests many of whom have shifted their loyalties, after getting fame and name courtesy of Swami.

The live proceedings of the whole ceremony was icing on the cake and the whole team of SAIONE APP, Sri Sathya Sai Organisations need a special appreciation for this effort.

At around 8:30PM, the blessed devotees took part in the Ganga arathi which was followed by Swami's arathi in Rishikesh which indeed is an emotional moment for all the assembled devotees.

Earlier in the morning, Sister Karuna Munshi of Radio Sai interviewed some dignitaries from the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation. Sri. Naganand Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust spoke in Hindi (with his South Indian dominated accent), excellently explaining the significance Sri Sathya Sai Organisation taking part in a rare event like this. He said it was all Swami's grace that this could happen and the generations will remember the service rendered by the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation. Many state presidents, office bearers of Sri Sathya Sai Organisatio were also interviewed.

SWAMI'S PADUKAS TO BE INSTALLED ON THE BANKS OF RIVER GANGA:

The important day of this three day programme will be on September 10th where the day will start with RUDRABHISHEKAM at the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat, again presided over by Brother Veda Narayana and team. After the inauguration of Shiva's statue on the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat,at around 10:30am, Swami's padukas which will be taken in procession from the Sri Sathya Sai School in Rishikesh will be installed in the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat by Sri. Rathnakar, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. This Padukas will be worshiped for generations to come, by the devotees who will be visiting the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat in Rishikesh.

At 5PM the chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Sri. Harish Rawat will be visiting the Sri Sathya Sai Ghat to inaugurate the statue of Mother Ganges and statue of Vishnu and to personally appreciate the noble gesture from the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation. This will be followed by bhajan programme by veteran bhajan singer Sri. Anoop Jalota .

Trustees of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri. Nimish Pandya, All India President, Sri Sathya Sai Organisations and his team have done an excellent job.The Sai community all over the world appreciate your good work which is complimenting the sentiments of devotees of Bhagawan
