What should be our goal in life to experience a smooth journey? Bhagawan sweetly teaches us a wonderful lesson today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, March 31, 2015

The vehicle of human life is drawn by the senses, driven by the intellect, with discrimination and detachment as the reins on the two wheels of Time and Action. The spokes of the wheel are the rules of righteousness, bound by the rim of Love. Your journey will be smooth, if your axle is Trut...h and your goal is Peace. Be careful to not exaggerate the importance of things that have material utility. They fade, even while you grasp them. Search for truth (Sath) - that which suffers no change, and Awareness (Chith) - the state of consciousness which is pure, unaffected by gusts of passion and is free from egoism or the desire to possess. Then you will experience Light, and illumine the Path for others. Experience the joy that emanates from Love with no blemish of attachment.

- Divine Discourse, 25 April 1961

Why is it supremely important to understand and appreciate unity of faiths? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, March 30, 2015

Since many separate religions have spread worldwide, they have lost fraternal feelings and thereby have suffered in validity. There is an urgent need for harmony. The principle of harmonizing is the very heart of all religions and faiths. The principles of coordination and reconciliation must be exp...anded and expounded. Though religions have separate names and distinct doctrines, in essence, all are one emphasising a common core. The experience and wisdom of great seers who have unveiled the mystery of the cosmos and their feelings of universal love are not appreciated, accepted, and respected. The same God is extolled and adored in various names through varied ceremonial rituals. In every age, in every race, God sent prophets to establish peace and goodwill. All great people are images of God. They form one single caste in the realm of God; they belong to one nation, the Divine Fellowship.

RADIOSAI 90 BIRTHDAY SPECIAL HASHTAG

Sairam dear ‪#‎SaiYouth‬.

Hope you are getting excited about the World Conference in November in Prashanti Nilayam to celebrate ‪#‎90yearsofSathyaSai‬. Swami laid great emphasis on Youth. In His discourse at the 1st World Youth conference in 1997

(Full discourse is here: http://www.sssbpt.info/ssspeaks/volume30/sss30-14.pdf),

Swami addressed Sai Youth as the future leaders of the world.

Young men and women! Future citizens of the world! When one's wealth is lost, it can be acquited again. If one friend is lost, another can be got. If the wife passes, one can many again. If land is lost, it can be acquited, again. But if time is lost it cannot be got back. Young men and women! The prosperity and well-being of the world depend on the conduct of the youth. Only when their conduct is good, the world can have an ideal future.

The night that has passed cannot be recalled by any means. The waters of the Yamuna, once they have merged in the ocean, cannot be turned back. A fruit that has been eaten and digested cannot be recovered. Life is like a mega-clock. Its three hands indicate the rate at which the days, months and the year are passing. Man rejoices in the movement of the clock's hands but does not realise that every movement is a reminder of his diminishing lifespan. Hence, before the final hour strikes, every man should realise what his duties are and see that the remaining time is well spent.

Amazing discourse, isn't it? So empowering. What activities are you as #SaiYouth engaged in to prep for the Youth conference? Share with us via pictures and stories using #SaiYouth and #90yearsofSathyaSai

Why does the world appear so chaotic to us at times? Why do we feel there is scarcely any meaning to this existence? Bhagawan explains and tells us when the clarity will dawn.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, March 29, 2015

If the I-consciousness in you, produces the pride “I know all”, a fall is inevitable; the delusion causes death. The secret of salvation lies in the realisation of this danger. Rebirth is inevitable if this danger is not averted. Immer...se yourself in spiritual practices, then the world and its worries will not affect you. It is only when you are far from this truth that you suffer, feel pain, and experience travail. At a distance from the bazaar, one hears only a huge indistinct uproar. But as you approach it, you can clearly distinguish the separate bargainings. So too, till you get to know the reality of the Supreme, you are overpowered and stunned by the uproar of the world; but once you enter deep into the realm of spiritual endeavour, everything becomes clear and the knowledge of the reality awakens within you. Until then, you will swirl in the meaningless noise of argumentation, disputation, and exhibitionist flamboyance.

- Prema Vahini, Ch 16.

Auspicious Ramanavami Greetings from Prasanthi Nilayam!

Radiosai exclusive Live HD shots of the Ramanavami Celebrations (Evening Programme) direct from Sai Kulwant Hall at Prasanthi Nilayam – 28th March 2015.

The evening session was marked by a speech by Sri Sai Surya Bharat, an MBA student at SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus. Speaking on the topic “Lessons From Ramayana For The Modern Day Man”, the young speaker, who had the rare fortune to grow under Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet, highlighted on the subtler aspect of the Epic that is having telling positive influence on the mind of man, even today. Deliberating on the lessons of ‘Namasmarana’, the inspiring speaker, speaking with crystal clarity, in flowing language, embellished his speech with some of the beautiful incidents from his student days, involving Bhagawan, sharing invaluable lessons. Sri Sai Surya ended his spirited talk, quoting Bhagawan that, When the road ends and the goal is gained, the pilgrim finds that he has travelled from himself to Himself and that the way was long and lonesome, but The Lord That led him unto It was all the while in him, above him, around him, beside him…

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, aired on the public address system. Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.

What is the significance of the auspicious ‘Sri Rama Navami’ (Birth of Lord Sri Rama) celebration, in our present times? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, March 28, 2015

Today is a sacred day to recapitulate the Glory of God and His relationship with human beings. Ramayana is not a story that had an end. You are living it. Ramayana must be experienced in the heart; not investigated as a mental phenomenon. As you go... on reading and ruminating, its inner meaning will become clear even as your mind is cleansed. Rama is the son of Dasharatha (one with ten chariots). The ten chariots are the senses, the five Karmendhriyaas (sense organs of action) and the five Jnaanendhriyaas (organs of perception). Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi and Prema are the four children of King Dasharatha. Rama is Sathya; Bharatha is Dharma; Lakshmana is Prema and Shatrughna is Shanthi. Take these great characters from Ramayana as your life’s ideals, your life will be filled with peace and joy.

GLORIOUS & GRAND RAMANAVAMIA Special Radio Sai Timeline cover to Celebrate the Holy occasion of Sri Ramanavami!

Sri Rama Navami is the festival that celebrates ...the birth of Lord Sri Rama, the Avatar of the Treta age. It falls in the ‘Chaitra’ month in the Shukla Paksha Navami (ninth day of the bright fortnight) of the Hindu lunar calendar. Lord Rama is revered as being the very embodiment of Dharma (righteousness) and one whose life serves as an ideal for all mankind. The Ramayana, an epic poem composed by sage Valmiki on the life of Lord Rama, is one of the sacred scriptures of the Hindu religion.

Bhagawan Baba has showed us the true characteristic Lord Rama through ‘Ramakatha Rasavahini’ authored by Baba Hisself.

“Rama is the in-dweller in every body. He is the Source of Bliss (Atma-Rama) in every individual. His blessing, surging from that inner spring, confers peace and bliss. He is the very embodiment of Dharma, of all the codes of morality that hold mankind together in love and unity”.

Feel free to make it your timeline cover and share with all to celebrate this auspicious day with us. Follow the basic principles of Ramayana to sanctify your life. Follow the path of Kaliyuga Avatar Lord Sai Rama to cross this worldly ocean (Bhava Saagara) safely and smoothly.

Why is transforming our daily lives in accordance with scriptures supremely important? Bhagawan, Our Loving Master, clearly explains to us today with a memorab...le example.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, March 27, 2015

The almanac (calendar) might indicate that ten units of rain will fall, but even if the daily sheet on the calendar is folded ten times and squeezed, not a drop of rain can be extracted. The purpose of the calendar is not to give rain but only to give information about rain and its quantity; its pages do not contain the ten units of rain which is there only in the clouds above. So too, the scriptures (shastras) can only give information about doctrines, axioms, rules, regulations, and duties. The sublime characteristics of the Vedas, the Upanishads, and scriptures are that they give instruction in the methods of attaining peace and liberation. But they aren’t saturated with these essences of bliss; one can’t collect the essences by squeezing the texts. One has to discover the path, direction, and goal as described in them, and then tread the path, follow the direction, and reach the goal.

- Prema Vahini, Ch 16.

Thursday Divine Darshan"
Short darshan Video Clip every Thursday

Darshan - 37

When the compassionate Lord chose to move amidst us... even as He glided past us and before us, He silently slipped into our hearts too! The eyes that were intoxicated with the beauty of His Darshan and never satiated, unknowingly then, turned within in search of that divine glimpse. Isn't that how He purified us, isn't that how He made us seekers? That was the magic of our Sai's Darshan!

Looking at Swami we wondered, was He more gracious or more graceful... nay He is verily grace itself - when He walks, when He talks, when He scolds, or when he gathers His robe's folds, when he smiles and beckons or in disappointment frowns... Seeing His grace our hearts gaped, 'How could one be so very graceful?' He could be, because He was as gracious as He was graceful, and to shower His grace was the very purpose of His presence. Darshan was that special moment when He allowed us to witness His gracefulness and graciousness.

Why is Bhavam or feeling most important in any endeavour? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, March ...25, 2015

Every human being has the evil tendencies of kama (lust), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), etc. in them. The epics teach us to control these real enemies. Hiranyakasipu was a great scientist. He had control over all five elements, but became a victim of his anger. His anger was directed at God and ultimately, he ruined himself. He subjected his son to many trials and tribulations and sought to kill him by throwing him from the hilltop, casting him into the sea, pushing him into a pit of poisonous snakes and making elephants trample on him. Prahlada chanted the name of Narayana ceaselessly, and emerged unscathed and victorious. That is why it is said, Yath bhavam, that bhavathi (As is the feeling, so is the experience). God manifests on the basis of the feelings of the devotee. If you pray to God with purity of heart and love, you will experience Him as such.

What is the difference between concentration, contemplation and meditation? Swami explains today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, March 24..., 2015

There are three stages of sadhana (spiritual practice). They are concentration, contemplation and meditation. Concentration entails fixing your gaze on one form. Contemplation occurs when you are able to perceive the form within you, even in its absence. Meditation means when, as a result of this exercise, this form is permanently imprinted in your heart. If you continue to meditate in this manner, the form will constantly be fixed in your heart. You should not confine your spiritual practices only to concentration and contemplation. While it is true that these are the first steps in your spiritual practices, you must progress further; you must transform concentration to contemplation, and then contemplation into meditation. When you carry this out, you will continue to visualize the form of God at all times. The ancient rishis (seers) adopted this form of meditation. That is why God manifested before them whenever they wished, talked to them and fulfilled their desires.

Why do we fail to see the Divine around us? What can we do to be successful? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilaya...m, Monday, March 23, 2015

The entire Universe is suffused with Divinity. Since your mind is steeped in Prakruthi (worldly objects) you are not able to see Paramatma (Divine). Just as when you focus your attention at a necklace, you shut your eyes to what it is made of, similarly as long as you look at the world with a materialistic attitude, Divinity shuts itself off from us. Once you gaze at the world with a divine attitude you see only Divinity. Who are the thieves that steal from every human being their peace and joy? They are the thieves of desire, pride, greed, infatuation, anger and jealousy, who rob a man of all his riches. But the worst of all thieves who inflicts the worst damage is matsarya (envy). We must win over our internal enemies and turn our gaze to Divinity who pervades the entire Universe.

UGADI 2015 NEWS FROM PUTTAPARTHI

Aum Sairam dearest Sai Family

Wishing every one out there a holy new year UGADI which according to Telugu Calender is called as "Manmatha" named after Krishna and Rukmini's son.

The beautiful Sai Kulwanth hall was beautifully decorated as many devotees came to the mandir to seek blessings of our beloved Lord in the morning of New Year. The devotees mostly from Hyderabad and neighboring places about 1500 in number, are here on a 2 day pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam. It was so nice of them to come in such big numbers that too on such an important festival where many prefer to spend with family and friends in their respective native places. This shows of their devotion to Swami and how much they love Him.

Brother Gopi from Hyderabad introduced the audience the programme for the day. He did a beautiful rendering of Swami's most famous verse "Khanda Khandantara Khyati narjinchina" by changing the last lines where he said, "to uphold the great culture of Bharath it is in our (devotees') hands.

The traditional way of starting this festival is the "Panchanga Sravanam" where in a learnt scholar/priest will give the detailed forecast for the year with regards to political, economical, climatic conditions that will prevail in the country. The scholar also gives a full year prediction of all the sun signs.

This morning it was Shri. Shiva Subramanyam, an ardent devotee of Bhagawan and also the  principal of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam (TTD) veda patashala (vedic school).

Using his scholastic excellence, even before he could start he repeated what Swami said, "When you have My "Anugraha (blessings) no "graha" (planet) can disturb you.

After the "panchanga Sravanam" it was the turn of Prof.Kamaraju Suguna Ratnakar, a long time devotee, Former dean of NIMS (Hyderabad) and present director of Globa hospitals, Hyderabad. Not many are aware that he is brother of Prof.Anil Kumar.

(File picture of Dr.Ratnakar with his brother Prof.Anil Kumar)

He spoke today in Telugu highlighting the essence of Sai Philosophy mostly quoting from Swami's Vahinis. He said Swami stressed on Unity in "Prasanthi Vahini" and that unity begins with you. There needs to be unity between Thought, word and deed. All three together is the beginning of Unity.

Being a faculty of medicine, he also touched up on the stress management and how people, especially the youth are undergoing stress. He opined that the best lubricant for stress is "Prema" and chanting of the Divine Name. He also shared a small conversation which he had with Swami when he said he is teaching the science of Roga (disease) Nirdharana ( ascertainment) and Swami replied today science needs to look at "Nivarana" (Prevention) and just Nirdharana.

He also shared a beautiful story of Jayadeva and the two thieves who amputated his hands
Nirdharana nivarana

The morning programme ended with a video of Swami's divine discourse taken from previous Ugadi celebrations followed by bhajans and prasadam distribution.

SATHYA SAI WATER PROJECT TO QUENCH THE THIRST OF PUTTAPARTHI

Puttaparthi in the recent years is going through a rough patch with depleting ground water levels which have gone as deep as 500 feet. Even though it is a very common thing in this drought hit Anantapur district Puttaparthi some how was "exempted" with this problem, but the lack of water in Chitravathi river and also very scanty rainfall the problem has only worsened.

Men at work roll the pipes

(seen on the far right are the pipe lines that are being laid. a dog looks on as a rickshaw puller rides his way to make few rupees)

Understanding the severity of the problem, The Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust is now laying pipelines to supply pure drinking water to the residents of Puttaparthi. This water project which is 70% completed will cover the whole of Puttaparthi village, Kovalaguttapalli, Yanamula palli, Brahmanapalli and also the Super speciality hospital area.

Lets hope this year brings good news to the farming class in particular in the form of good rains..

With Pranams at the lotus feet of our beloved Lord,

Who should we make as our best friend and why? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, March 22, 2015

Love is God, love is Nature, love is life and love is the true human value. It is on the basis of the principle of love that sages declared: Loka samastha sukhino bhavantu (May the whole world be happy!). Love even the worst of your enemies. Sanctify every day by cultivating sacred thoughts and broad feelings. Today, humanity... is stricken with fear and restlessness. Courage and strength are on the decline, because you have unsacred thoughts and wicked feelings. Your enemies are not outside. Your bad thoughts are your worst enemies and thoughts based on Truth are your best friends. You must make Sath, the eternal Truth, as your best friend. Worldly friends and enemies change with passage of time, but God is your true and eternal friend. This friend is always with you, in you, around you, above you, below you and protects you just as the eyelid protects the eye.

On the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year day, Bhagawan reminds us how a New Year’s Day must be celebrated.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, March 21, 2015

You would have celebrated many Ugadi (New Year day) festivals in your life. Certain traditional practices go with every festival, such as having a sacred bath, wearing new clothes, cleaning the house and decorating it with buntings of green leaves. Greatness lies in purifying our though...ts, not merely the transient human body. The significance of a festival does not lie in wearing new clothes but in cultivating new and noble thoughts. The house should be decorated not merely with the buntings of green leaves, but with buntings of love. Share your love with everyone who visits your house. Only then would we be celebrating the festival in its true spirit. This is the beginning of Nuthana Samvatsara (New Year). Vatsara is another name of God. Time is God.

- Divine Discourse, 18 March 1999.

UGADI DAY CELEBRATIONS AT PRASANTHI NILAYAM – 2015 – DAY 1

Prasanthi Nilayam - 21/03/2015

The Ugadi Day celebrations at Sai Kulwant Hall commenced this morning with Veda chanting by the devotees from Hyderabad and introductory speeches in English and Telugu. The speakers recollected the years in which Swami would spend the week between Ugadi and Ramanavami in Sivam, Hyderabad unfailingly. On behalf of the 1500 devotees from Hyderabad, they expressed gratitude to Bhagawan for the opportunity to spend the Ugadi day of the 90th Year of Advent in the holy precincts of Prasanthi Nilayam.

This was followed by Panchanga Sravanam by Brahmasri Kuppa Siva Subramanya Avadhani Garu (Project Officer & Principal, TTD Veda Paathasaala, Tirumala). He meticulously read out to the audience, what one can expect in the Manmadha Nama Samvatsaram that was born today. Nevertheless, he concluded by quoting from the scriptures, a verse that clearly states, that the Navagrahas (nine planets) can do no harm to the one, who has won the grace (Anugraha) of the Lord.

Next to follow, was a talk in Telugu by Dr. K. S. Ratnakar, Chairman, Global Hospitals, Hyderabad. The learned speaker drawing messages from Bhagawan's writings and aptly aided by captivating stories gave the gathering a lot of food for thought and an insight into how Bhagawan expects us to lead our lives.

The programme concluded with a clip from an Ugadi discourse by Baba from a past year and Bhajans.

The evening programme in connection with Ugadi celebrations began with good tidings for all devotees as Sri Sathya Sai Central

Trust launched an online accommodation booking facility for the convenience of visitors to Prasanthi Nilayam. Advance booking of rooms can now be done through the website www.prasanthinilayam.in.

The main programme of the evening was a musical presentation by singers Smt. Nitya Santoshini and Sri Nihal (Asthana Vidwan at Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham), both accomplished devotional and playback singers. The offering of songs spanned compositions in various languages – Shankarabharanamu in Telugu, Krishna nee begane baro in Kannada, and the Meera Bhajan Payoji Maine.. in Hindi. For the devotees who had gathered in Sai Kulwant Hall for the new year festivities, the atmosphere of spiritual fervour through music truly filled their hearts with joy.

Earlier, during the evening, representatives of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization, Hyderabad outlined the plethora of service activities being undertaken by devotees from Hyderabad. Sivam, Bhagawan’s Mandir in Hyderabad is the centre for a number of vocational and educational programmes aimed at supporting deserving but poor students in securing a means of living thus enabling them to find their feet in society. Mobile Medical Vans that extend medical care to villages in the districts of Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda, and Medak of Telanagana state have now served more than 50,000 patients since the inception of the programme in 2011, they reported.

After the delightful musical rendition by Smt. Nitya Santoshini and Sri Nihal, the Trustees of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust honoured them in the Divine Presence of Bhagawan. The evening programme concluded with Bhajans and Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan and Prasadam was distributed to all the assembled devotees.

The Ugadi Day Celebrations at Sai Kulwant Hall will continue for the second day, on March 22, 2015, Sunday, in the morning with “ Veda pathanam” followed by, “ Sri Sathya Sai Gaanamrutham” by SIVAM Bhajan Group. All our readers are warmly welcome to enjoy the celebrations.

UGADI WITH UNIVERSAL LOVE Special Radio Sai Facebook Timeline cover for the Auspicious occasion of Ugadi!

Leaving the past behind and starting afresh with positive expectation is one of the key aspects of Ugadi. The day also marks the beginning of spring season, which is considered to be the first of all seasons, with plants, shoots, and leaves coming to life and therefore, the day is believed to set things rolling for a fresh and successful new beginning. It is a day when Vedic mantras, auspicious chants and predictions for the coming year are made by the pundits.

On Ugadi, it is the tradition to begin the day by partaking of a special preparation known as Ugadi Pacchadi. Six ingredients go into the making of this dish, each one representative of the six tastes – sweet, sour, spicy, salty, savoury and bitter. This reminds us to accept both the joys and sorrows that life offers us with equal mindedness.

Bhagawan Baba said: “True Ugadi is the day when man gives up bad qualities, fills his heart with love and takes to the path of sacrifice. Do not limit the celebration of Ugadi to merely putting on new clothes and partaking of delicious items. Today you may wear a new shirt, but how long will it remain new. Tomorrow it becomes old.”

Feel free to make it your timeline cover and share with all to celebrate Ugadi with Bhagawan’s Universal Love. Let this new beginning bring the brightest and choicest happiness and joy in your life.

Radiosai Team.

Wherever we may be how can we experience God? Bhagawan clearly assures us of the way to experience His presence.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, March 20, 2015

God is not found separately in a temple or in an ashram. Truth is God. Love is God. Dharma is God. When you worship God by following these principles, He will manifest Himself then and there. Do not doubt this. Love God wholeheartedly. Pray to God and make friends with Him. You can achieve anything if you have God as your friend. Learn today to fill your heart with love and adorn your hand with the ornament of sacrifice. Sacrifice is the jewel for the hands. Truth is the necklace one should wear. You must develop the habit of adorning these jewels. Develop divine love and foster peace in the country. Pray with a broad feeling: Loka samastha sukhino bhavantu (May the whole world be happy)! Start every day with this prayer. Then, you will lead a blissful and peaceful life which is full of enthusiasm. Love God and make friendship with Him, and you are bound to be successful in all your endeavours.

- Divine Discourse, 18 March 1999.

Just as there is butter in milk, fragrance in flower, tasty juice in the fruit and fire in wood, there is Divinity in the vast universe.

A.P. C.M. Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Tokyo

Sri Hira, who is a devotee of Bhagavan and was associated for a long time in the activities of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations in Japan has sent the following information to us.

“A.P. C.M. Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Tokyo, during the last week of November 2014, was most successful. After the public meeting, I invited him for private dinner and introduced senior Japanese Vedam teachers, Sai translators and Sai
teachers. I showed him 140 Japanese language books and publications on Sai, as well briefed him on all Japan Seva work.

He was overwhelmed at Bhagwan’s grace and out of the blue, announced later in public, that he will put Puttaparthi on priority development for pilgrims. He lit the lamps at Bhagwan’s altar before dinner and himself introduced Baba to Japanese dignitaries.

PM Abe, who due to elections and restrictive protocol of CM to PM could not meet him, finally met CM on the last day in answer to prayers to Baba.

CM was thrilled and inspired at Japanese PM’s humility and high regard for Sai.”

SSSCT/2015/051

Gratitude program by the Students of Final Year PG – SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam campus

Prasanthi Nilayam - 19 03 2015

With a program entitled “White & Orange – the immortal bond of Love” the Post Graduate students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus offered their gratitude to Bhagawan Baba for the gift of education they received at His Feet and for the privilege and joy of being hailed as His students.

Bhagawan’s educational institutions not only foster proficiency and excellence in academic spheres, but also encourage the students to gain skills in the cultural and sports arenas too. These graduates used this opportunity to showcase their oratorical and musical talents by putting up a program in Sai Kulwant Hall that combined heartfelt narratives of their transformation and testimonials of His Divine intervention in their lives with songs that captured the bond of eternal Love they share with their Divine Chancellor, Bhagawan Baba.  Stories of His nurturing care and protection were delivered in a variety of Indian languages – Marathi, Kannada, Sindhi, Nepali – for this is a relationship that transcends all geographical boundaries. Members of the Institute Band Group also presented a selection of tunes, an acknowledgement to the Lord, who is extolled as Ganapriya, the patron of all Music.

In the end, one turns misty eyed as one shares the “sweet sorrow of parting” that must weigh heavily on their young hearts as they near the end of their stay in Prasanthi Nilayam, but one is also buoyed by the hope that these “soldiers of peace” will march into society bearing the message of Sanatana Dharma and spread joy and happiness wherever they go. The oath that these students took at the culmination of the program to “Be Good, See Good, and Do Good” is cause for humanity itself to be sanguine about its future!
With Bhagawan’s Golden voice,  singing His special number Om Shivaya Om Shivaya …… aired into the Public Address system,  the program concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.  Prasadam was distributed to all the assembled devotees.

Ugadi Special ( 21 Mar 2015)

Radio Sai UGADI Special Wallpapers

The word Ugadi is derived from the Sanskrit word Yugadi which means beginning of a new Yuga or era. Legend has it that this was the day on which Lord Krishna shed His body, signalling the end of the Dwapara Yuga and the commencement of the Kali Yuga. It is also believed that Brahma created the universe on this day.

In everything you do, speak and act truthfully, using all the strength and talent you are endowed with. At first, you might fail in this and encounter difficulties and sufferings. But ultimately, by virtue of your behaviour, you are bound to succeed, and achieve victory and bliss. A person who is a genuine vehicle of power can be recognised by the characteristics of truth, kindness, love, patience, forbearance and gratefulness. Wherever these reside, ego (ahamkara) cannot subsist. Therefore, seek to develop these.

The effulgence of the Divine (Atma) is obscured by ego. When ego is destroyed, all troubles end, all discontents vanish, and bliss is attained. Just as the Sun is obscured by mist, so the feeling of ego hides eternal bliss. Even if the eyes are open, a piece of cloth can prevent vision from functioning effectively and usefully. So too, the screen of selfishness prevents one from seeing God, who is nearest to you.

- Prema Vahini, Ch 14.

However you are, you are Mine, I will never give you up. Wherever you are, you are near Me. You cannot go beyond My reach.-BABA

The scriptures are as affectionate to us as a mother. They teach lessons as a mother to her children, in conformity with the level of intelligence and according to the needs of time and circumstance. A mother of two children gives the healthy one every item of food for ...which it clamours, but she takes great care not to overfeed the sick child and gives it only items that can restore it soon to good health. Can we accuse her of being partial to one and prejudiced against the other in conferring love? The scriptures also draw the attention of those who know the secret of work (karma) to its innate value. Karma can improve life and set its ideals aright. Everyone must be instructed on how to transform work into beneficial activity. Yet, work is not all.

What is the cause for discontent in life? Bhagawan explains with an answer which when assimilated can give us peace and balance.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, March 17, 2015

People create and develop in themselves an abounding variety of selfish habits and attitudes, causing great discontent for themselves. The impulse for all this comes from the greed for accumulating authority, domination, and power. Greed for things can never be eternal and full; it... is just impossible for anyone to be satiated in fulfilling greed. Omnipotence belongs only to the Lord of all (Sarveswara). You may feel elated to become the master of all arts, owner of wealth, possessor of all knowledge, or repository of all the scriptures, but where did these come from? You may claim that you earned this through your own efforts, labour, and toil. But surely, it was given to you by someone some way or other. The source from which all authority and all power originate is the Lord of all. Ignoring that omnipotence, and deluding yourself that the little power you acquired is your own — is indeed is selfishness, conceit and pride (ahamkara).

- Prema Vahini, Ch 14.

Fill the hearts with the light of love so that the evil qualities of hate, greed and conceit find no place therein.-BABA

Radio Sai Special Photo Gallery:

Highest Worship of Shiva for Highest Peace

Rudra is often thought of as another name of Lord Shiva. Baba says that the 'Rudram' hymn is in fact the essence of all the Vedas. It signifies oneness (ekathwa) between namaka and chamaka. Namaka emphasizes detachment whereas chamaka connotes desire. Evil is to be discarded and good is to be desired. Both are essential and imperative for peace at all levels, from the individual to society to Nature....

TALk: Means Vs Ends - which is more important?

There is often an intense debate on whether the means matter more or the ends matter more. Do the ends justify the means we adopt or do the means we adopt justify whatever end we reach?

Here are three wonderful episodes from the lives of different Sai Students that bring a resolution to this debate in the most beautiful manner. Bhagawan Sri ‪#‎SathyaSai‬ Baba has always portrayed this in His life, if only we have been observant ...enough to notice. While the ends concern what we do, the means concern how we do it. What we do and How we do are both determined by an important common factor...

Listen to this talk to discover this common factor yourselves via the experiences of these students. This talk was delivered at the ‪#‎Satsangh‬ Hall in Prasanthi Nilayam, Puttaparthi, on the 16th of March, 2015.

Radio Sai Special: THE GOLDEN ERA OF PURE LOVE

Celebrating 90 Years of Divine Advent!

Bhagawan’s life has been a message of Pure Love – Selfless Love and Boundless Sacrifice. We talk about it, give examples on this, and say that only Bhagawan can do it; we cannot. That is the myth we should demolish. Bhagawan comes down in human form to show that humans can do what He does as an avatar (incarnation of God) for the simple reason that the same God is in all of us.

How can we say that there is Unity when names and forms are so many, and so distinct? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today with a simple illustration.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, March 16, 2015

When the moon is just a little arc in the sky and one desires to see it, a person indicates it by pointing a finger towards it. Or, when one desires to look at a particular star, a person says, “There, just above that branch of this tree.” The moon is far awa...y, and the star is much farther. At the moment it could be seen just above the branch, but that is only a temporary location. Soon, the location changes. The finger can no longer be correct, for the star or moon moves across the sky. But the genuine characteristic never undergoes change. The form may suffer change; the name may change; times may change; and the space it occupies may change. But the core of Truth will not change. That core is denoted as existence, luminescence, and attractiveness (asthi, bhathi, priyam) in Vedantic texts. The above three together are the nature of God. On these as the basis, forms are constructed by the mind, and names for the forms follow.

- Sutra Vahini, Ch 2.

What must be the foundation and guiding principle for every human effort? Bhagawan very sweetly and crisply explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, March 15, 2015

All action (karma) done for the sake of three goals viz. to leverage the Universe for the worship of the Lord, to establish peace and justice in society, and to control and coordinate the functions of the body, is sacrifice. The first is called a holy, sacrificial ritual (yajna); ...the second, charity (dhana); the third, penance (tapas). All human acts must subserve these three needs, and an ethical life is the foundation for attaining that stage. This ethical life is based upon discrimination between truth and falsehood. Just as the pearl is retained while the shell is discarded, the essence that is Truth must be accepted and the nonessential rejected. For this, individual exertion and divine grace, both should be present. One should also constantly practice the great lesson that the body and the Atma are separate. This is a highly beneficial exercise. Such discrimination is necessary for secular as well as spiritual life.

- Prema Vahini, Ch 1.

Ride safe on the raging waters of samsara (worldly life); be a witness, do not crave for the fruit of action, leave the consequences of all acts to God’s Will. He is the doer; you are but the instrument. - BABA

What is the best proof for the existence of the Creator? Bhagawan reminds of something we see and how that itself can be a means to comprehend the Lord.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, March 14, 2015

The cosmos is a magnificent wonder, a source of continuous amazement. It will impress anyone, whoever you are, as a supreme marvel. When an object has to be made, we know it needs someone with skill, intelligence, and power to make it. Without a maker, it is just impossible. Therefore, how could these visible objects — the sun, moon, stars, and constellations— move and behave as they do without a Supreme Creative Designer? Can they exist and function with any ordinary power? No. After observing the creation with such mighty capabilities, intelligent people can easily infer how immeasurable the power of the Maker must be. Not just that, look at the uniqueness and variety in creation! No one thing is the same as another; no one person resembles another. This can only be the sport (leela) of the phenomenon with limitless glory - God! No lesser power could be the source. From the mystery inherent in creation, understand the Creator.

- Sutra Vahini, Ch 1.
