When the Ati Rudra saga extended to the Prasanthi precincts...

Recounting the blissful experience of the past 11 days at Brindavan, Bengaluru, recollecting the unmatched spiritual ecstasy of Ati Rudram in 2006 in the immediate physical presence of Bhagawan in Prasanthi Nilayam, the full group of 121 rithwiks of Brindavan Ati Rudram led by the Chief Priest Prof Nanjunda Dixit offered a full-throat Rudram session this morning at the Sanctum

Sanctorum here in Prasanthi Nilayam. ...The session commenced at 10:00 hrs., lasted half-an-hour, ended with a special song on the Glory Of Sri Sathya Sai. A spirited group of ‘Bangalore Sai Youth’ who were instrumental in the successful conduct of the Ati Rudram accompanied the group to Prasanthi Nilayam.

Mangala Arathi at 1030 hrs. marked the end of the special session. For Prasanthi Nilayam, the void was filled, reconnecting to Ati Rudram and Brindavan, while extending the Ati Rudra saga to the holy terrains of Puttaparthi.

ATHI RUDRA MAHA YAGNA AT BRINDAVAN
Whitefield, Bengaluru – 13 03 2015

ATHI RUDRA MAHA YAGNA is considered as the highest form of worship to Lord SHIVA, the very source of cosmic energy for the entire creation. His Divine form encompasses and extends far beyond all known and unknown galaxies and universes. Lord Siva is worshipped traditionally in the form of Linga – resembling the replica of Brahmanda. Abhisheka is the ritual dearest to His heart. This Maha Yagna is being pe...rformed for Loka Kalyana and good of all mankind as well as to ensure universal peace and prosperity. It is, indeed, our good fortune that such a grand Vedic ritual is being performed in a selfless manner in the Divine Presence of Bhagawan, the very embodiment of Siva-Sakti form of Absolute Cosmic Energy in its entirety.

The First Athi Rudra Maha Yagna was conducted in Prasanthi Nilayam in the year 2006 and second one at Chennai during 2007.

On the most auspicious occasion of the 90th year of the advent of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the third sacred Athi Rudra Maha Yagna has been conducted from 01 03 2015 till 12 03 2015 at Brindavan Ashram, Kadugodi, Bengaluru.

The first session of Athi Rudra Maha Yagna at Brindavan, Whitefield, Bengaluru, began on 01 03 2015 at 0900 hrs with chanting of Vedic hymns in Trayee Mandir by 121 Rithwiks, who were designated to perform this Yagna, with Sri Nanjunda Dixit, as the Head Priest.

The routine Rituals of Panchamirtha Abishekam, Rudra Homa, Rudra Abhishekam, Rudra Parayanams etc., were performed for the last 11 days in the morning sessions. In the Evening sessions, Eminent and Learned Speakers gave Speeches and Musical programs by the proficient musicians with their groups, were rendered.

On 12 03 2015, Holy Thursday, during the pre-Lunch session, in a manner most befitting to the last ten days, the Athi Rudra Maha Yagnam concluded with the Maha Poornahuti, as thousands of devotees watched and chanted Rudram for world peace at Brindavan, Whitefield.

In the evening session, Members of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri Naganand and Sri R J Rathnakar have addressed the gathering and thanked wholeheartedly the team of Rithwiks for their dedicated participation. Sri Rathnakar conveyed a message of SAI that LOVE IS GOD AND GOD IS LOVE.

Sri Shiva Parvathi Kalyana Mahotsavam was performed.

With the Divine Discourse by Bhagawan Baba, that was aired through the Public Address System and the Maha Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan, the 11 days magnificent Spiritual exercise of worship to SAI TRAYEESWARA LINGAM, culminated successfully, at Brindavan, Bengaluru this evening.

Is it necessary to wait for a spiritual experience to start on the spiritual journey? Bhagawan explains and motivates us to persist on the path.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, March 13, 2015

In this material world, one cannot appreciate the value of spiritual endeavor without experience in spiritual life and its purity. It may be said that one can undertake spiritual endeavor only after appreciating its value, but this is like saying that one should get into water only after learning to swim. Swimming can be learned only by getting into water with a float attached to the body. In the same way, with some float attached to the mind, plunge without fear into spiritual discipline. Then, you will yourself understand the value of spiritual endeavor. The nature and conditions of the spiritual path are known only to those who have journeyed along the road. They know that the path of truth and discrimination (Sathya and Viveka) leads to God (Paramatma). Those who have not trodden that path and those who are not aware of its existence cannot explain it to themselves or to others.

- Prema Vahini, Ch 14.

Why should we persist with our efforts on the path and how will we find inspiration? Bhagawan, Our Loving Master, clearly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, March 12, 2015

Today people are too immersed in the all-pervasive delusion to take advantage of the natural characteristics in the Universe and elevate themselves. They are unable to hold on to the good and avoid the bad, and establish themselves on the righteous (dharmic) path. They are ignorant of the path of peace and harmony in the world. The scriptures clearly teach: From which you are born, by which you live, into which you dissolve —‘That’ is Brahman. God is ‘That’ from which the manifested cosmos emanated with its moving and unmoving entities; ‘That’ prompts, promotes and fosters your progress. The cosmos is not one continuous flux. It progresses persistently toward achieving totality in its evolution. Everyone can transform themselves from their present status only through their own self-effort and discrimination. The moral forces permeating the cosmos will certainly promote your achievement.

- Sutra Vahini, Ch 2.

What truly is the relationship between us and the Divine we seek to merge in? Bhagawan, Our Loving Master, clearly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, March 11, 2015

The Divine is the base, and also the superstructure. The beads are many, but the interconnecting, integrating string of the rosary is one. So also for the entire world of living beings; God, the permanent, omnipresent Parabrahman, is the base. The scriptures proclaim, “He... who realises Divine verily becomes Divine (Brahmavid Brahmaiva Bhavathi)”. The bubble born of water floats in it and bursts to become one with it. All the visible objective worlds are like bubbles emanating from the vast ocean of Divinity, Brahman. They are on the water and are sustained by water. How else can they arise and exist? Finally, they merge and disappear in water itself. For their origination, subsistence, and mergence, they depend only on water. Water is the basis; bubbles are delusive forms of the same imposed on it.

What is the significance of the declaration, “Om Tat Sat”? How do we experience the sweetness of Om, constantly within us? Bhagawan explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, March 9, 2015

When you perform an activity (kriya) as an offering to the Lord, your own good, what is good for others, and the highest good (swartha, parartha, and paramaartha) all merge! First, you and I become we. Next we and He becomes One. The individual soul, the ‘I’ (jiva) should accomplish identity first with the creation (prakriti) and then with the Supreme Divine (Paramatma). This indeed is the significance of the mantra Om Tat Sat (which connects the identity of the individual with the Universal Brahman). ‘He’ and ‘I’ are always there; the spiritual practice (sadhana) is always there too. Just as the sun is inseparable and is never apart from its rays, under no circumstances should any aspirant part with one’s sadhana. It is only then they can be said to be one with Om.

Sri Sathya Sai International Healthcare Information Technology Practitioners Conference:
Implementing IT to Enhance Quality of Patient Care, March 7, & March 8...
, 2015-Day 2

Prasanthigram - 08 03 2015

The second day of the Sri Sathya Sai International Healthcare Information Technology Practitioners Conference began with an interesting topic on “Mobile Health and Innovations”. It was a video conference session with one faculty member, Dr. Sanjeev Bhavnani, a cardiologist with vast experience in mobile healthcare innovation joining the discussion from the USA.

The session discussed the opportunities presented by the mobile health devices and their impact in the healthcare field. According to Dr Bhavnani the mobile healthcare devices like the smart phones have been able to take healthcare to the field level. “In rural India there is around 80 per cent penetration of basic mobile phones, which can be leveraged to take healthcare to the point of care,” he said. Citing a study, he said that even simple text messages to patients reminding them of the precautions to be taken to reduce the risk of diabetes had reduced the onset of diabetes in such patients by around 35 per cent.

Joining in the discussion Dr. Srikanth Sola, cardiologist from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Whitefield, Bengaluru mentioned that the main challenges facing the expansion of the mobile health devices was accuracy and also the legal provisions which govern the devices. Dr Sola added that the key to having an efficient mobile health system was to train the local health practitioners so that they are able to screen and diagnose the patients accurately.

This session was followed by a presentation by Dr S P Kalantri, Medical Superintendent of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sevagram, Gujarat, on IT implementation at MGIMS. During his presentation he mentioned how Dr Sushila Nayar, former Health Minister of India and the founder of MGIMS had visited Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and after taking His blessings, had started the Sri Sathya Sai Accident and Emergency Unit in the hospital, named after Bhagawan Baba.

Sri Prasad B, Global Vice President GENPACT in this talk, later in the day, mentioned that cloud computing in Information Technology had brought down the cost of the technology as well as made the systems more elastic. “It is now easier to bring an idea into the market, he said. He also opined that for effective implementation of IT in a hospital setting, it is imperative for clinicians and IT engineers to sit together and collaborate to make the system work.

In his comments, Dr Choudary Voleti, Director, SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram, said that at the root of implementation of Information Technology and healthcare scenario is economy. “We may have systems, which might be extremely advanced, but it is economy which decides whether a particular system could be implemented in a health care institution or not. Therefore, it is for each healthcare institution to decide, what technology is needed for their institution and how much benefit it would bring to the patients and how economically it could be implemented,” he said.

Commenting on the conference, Dr S P Kalantri said that the visiting the hospital was a lifetime experience. “The environment is calm and peaceful, and the hospitality is something I can never forget,” he said. Talking about the content of the conference Dr Kalantri said that academically the conference was top notch, “something we seldom see when we attend conferences outside,” he said. Dr Kalantri said he would definitely like to be a part of any such conference in future.

Another faculty member, Dr R R Sudhir from Shankar Nethralaya, Bangalore, said that the conference was well organized and was high of academic content. “What made the conference even more worthwhile was that it was held in a spiritual environment,” he added.

Dr K Nagamani from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad a delegate said that it was a novel experience for her to attend this conference.” The hospital has a beautiful environment, which is conducive for academic knowledge sharing,” she said.

Ms Rupel from Indian Institute of Health Management Research, Bangalore, a delegate at the conference, said that the conference was supreme in content; it was a wonderful experience and said that she would love to come back to SSSIHMS to attend such conferences, again.

Sri Sathya Sai International Healthcare Information Technology Practitioners Conference-March 07, 2015 & March 08,2015 -Implementing IT to Enhance Quality of Patient Care

Prasanthigram-07 03 2015

The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences is organizing a two-day Sri Sathya Sai Healthcare Information Technology Practitioners Conference. The conference focuses on ways and means of implementing innovations in IT to enhance the quality of patient care.

The conference is being attended by around 120 delegates from Inland & Overseas.

The topics to be covered in the conference range from “Impact of Information Technology on healthcare” to “Mobile Health and Innovations”. The conference also emphasizes the adoption of IT in healthcare delivery at Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences at Prasanthigram and Whitefield. Both hospitals had adopted IT in the areas pertaining to patient care, streamlining workflow, resource optimization and enhancing clinical productivity and experience.

In his inaugural address to the audience, Director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram, Dr Choudary Voleti mentioned about the evolution of Information Technology from 1960s onwards. “The flood gates opened for IT in the 1970s when computer became accessible to the common man. The second occasion happened was in 1980s, when vendors started coming into the picture and later all would come to know the internet revolutionized IT. But all this did not mean much for medicine, as it became patient centric,” he said. “Most of the doctors became more open to IT in healthcare because it became patient centric,” he added. “Now IT has become essential to running good medicine,” he said.

Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri R J Ratnakar, while addressing the audience said that while we all know about IT as information technology, but Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba had spoken about IT as Internal Transformation, which was essential. “It was this internal transformation of the people, which brought so many people to take part in the service activities” he said. “This beautiful hospital is an example of that”, he added. “When we talk about this hospital to people, they ask us whether it is really possible that a hospital like this could exist. It exists because of the internal transformation that Bhagawan Baba has brought about,” Sri Rathnakar further said.

The Secretary of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Sri Prasada Rao in his talk mentioned that many people had asked Bhagawabn Baba, how long could Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences function, where everything is completely free, “Swami affirmed that the hospital would go on for thousands of years,” Sri Prasada Rao said. Talking about IT in healthcare he said that information should be used for transformation, only then information becomes beneficial. “IT set up from the beginning at the SSSIHMS is patient centric. In our hospitals we do not use or expand our IT set up just for the sake of doing it rather to make sure that the patients get benefitted through IT,” he said. “This conference will provide an opportunity to sensitize professionals attending the conference towards that end,” he added.

At the end of the first day of the Conference, the delegates and the faculty members attended the Bhajans and Darshan in the Sai Kulwanth hall.

What must one who aspires for liberation cultivate? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, March 8, 2015

A bird in flight in the sky needs two wings; a person walking needs two legs; an aspirant eager to attain liberation needs two qualities: renunciation and wisdom — renunciation of worldly desires and wisdom to become aware of the Atma. Whe...n a bird has only one wing, it can’t rise up into the sky, can it? In the same manner, if one has only renunciation or only wisdom, one cannot attain the Divine. The sense of ‘mine’ is the bond of deluding attachment. How long can one cling to what one fondles as mine? Someday you must give up everything and leave, alone and empty handed. This is the inescapable destiny. Hence give up as quickly as possible assumed relationships and artificial attachments through rigorous analysis of their nature. Attachment breeds fear and egotism. The wise will never bow to the fancies of objective desire. Constantly stick to the everlasting truth and adhere to the immortal virtues that the Atma represents.

- Sutra Vahini, Ch 1.

Practice detachment from now on; practice it little by little, for a day will come sooner or later when you will have to give up all that you hold dear. - BABA
