How can we practice seeing Unity amongst multiplicity in creation in our daily lives? Bhagawan lovingly reinforces this truth for us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, November 15, 2014

A flower has many petals.... These petals appear distinct from each other. But all petals have emerged from the same single stem. The stem is the seat of the Atma, from which the petals have emanated. But we view the flower as a single object. The flower is one, but the petals are many. Same analogy is applicable to the endless number of waves arising on the ocean. The waves are many and distinct. But they are of the same stuff as the ocean. From the waves arises the foam, which has the same properties as the waves and the ocean though different in form and name. All the three are based on the ocean. This is the logical basis for Advaita (philosophy of non-dualism). The Atma is the basis for everything. Ignoring this truth people pursue the myriad ephemeral objects of the phenomenal world, but ultimately all come to a realisation of the Atmic Principle.

What is the immense potency that each one of us is blessed with? Bhagavan reveals to us the power latent within and the best

 way to employ them.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, November 14, 2014

You have immense potency within you. Like the light that illumines, your vision must be pure, sacred and pleasing. Do not taint or pollute the blessing of sight by looking at undesirable objects, or by looking with bad thoughts. A magnetic energy circulates in... you. Although this energy is present throughout the body, its presence is conspicuous in the hand. Hence the hands should be employed for good purposes. They should never be used for harming others. The ears listen to gossip, slander and evil talk. The result is that the power of hearing gets polluted. Also the power of speech. This power finds expression in sound waves and it has to be used with great care. The words one utters should be examined to see that they do not excite, irritate or anger others. Bad words come back to the speaker with double strength. Hence one's speech should be soft and sweet.

- My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 14, 14 Jan 1996.

Parents have the primary responsibility to mould the character of children. Out of excessive affection they should not give too much freedom. -BABA

Why do we have fear – knowingly or unknowingly at times? How can we overcome fear? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, November 13, 2014

Desire and disappointments are the order ...of the day. Human life for most people seems to be full of fear. Various types of fears haunt wherever one is, whatever one does. How can one escape fear? Even the little objects of happiness which one seems to derive from life, is coupled with fear of losing them soon! Sin and merit, joy and sorrow, profit and loss, light and darkness are pairs of opposites that every being undergoes during their lives. Truly speaking, the absence of one (sorrow), indicates the presence of other (joy)! Saint Adi Shankara further clarified, “Where there is no attachment, there will be no fear!” How can one attain that state? By attaining proximity with the Divine! He further exhorted, “Banish fear by cultivating detachment (Vairagya) and journeying towards the Self. It is through Self-Realization that you can understand the true nature of fear and overcome it.

- My Dear Students, Vol 3, Ch 17.

Fear is nothing but a bundle of negative thoughts. Counter it with positive thoughts. - BABA.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Loving Sairam!

In the past two years Radiosai has had the opportunity to place at Bhagawan's feet, through the platform of Thursday live, various segments fo...cusing on aspects of Swami's life and message. The positive response we receive from all of you is itself a sign for us that Bhagawan is graciously accepting our humble offerings.

Today we are glad to inform you about a NEW segment we are placing before Him. Starting this Thursday, we will offer as part of our live broadcast from Prasanthi Nilayam a special 'Children's Hour on Radio Sai'. This will be from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. So make sure your children don't miss this! We'll have story telling, conversation with children and many more such interesting programmes for children, and may be even by children in the future.

The time of this segment, we believe will be suitable for Children to listen (at least in India!) We hope the children are done with their homework and this coincides with their leisure time in the evening. It is a great opportunity for family bonding between parents and children, as they enjoy our program together. We do hope this new segment helps in drawing the little ones of the Sai Family closer to our beloved Mother Sai.

What are the true barometers that indicate a wise person? Bhagawan lovingly tells us in detail today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, N...ovember 12, 2014

The hard working farmer has no fear of starvation. The one who chants the Lord’s Name has no fear of worldly worries. The person of a few words will be free from enmity. Through excessive talk, people fall prey to quarrels. Everyone must cultivate moderation in speech. Restraint in speech is conducive to friendly feelings. The one who is careful in behavior, doing all actions after due deliberation, will have no fear of danger. True education consists in knowing how to lead a peaceful life. To embark on or have a successful career, you must aspire for world peace. For you are part of the world and your well-being is intimately tied to that of the world. Give up all narrow feelings and acquire unity and fellowship.

WOW! Success of ‪#‎GAB2014‬. (Some places like Ecuador not yet included in map.)

Thanks to Aditya Sai, this map has been generated. Based on all the hashtags du...ring the Global Akhanda Bhajans, the activity around the globe has been mapped. (If you want to enjoy actual pictures of the Global Event, rush to this link:
http://media.radiosai.org/…/01NOV14/Truly-Global-Akhanda-Bh…)

Though it feels awesome to see spiritual vibes arising from everywhere, its not enough. Let us flood the social media with Swami vibes.

It is our hope that on November 23rd this year, we as Sai devotees come together and wish Him on social media to create the most popular hashtag ever. That it will become popular in Google searches and Swami & His birthday posts will show up on all social news feeds on the top with ‪#‎HappyBirthdaySwami‬.

This will be a nice offering from all of us on Swami’s 89th birthday and it will inspire new generations to spread the Universal message and pure love of Mother Sai throughout every corner of the world.

Mark your calendars for November 23rd as the day we offer Swami our prayers and add this special hashtag #HappyBirthdaySwami to our posts...Don't forget adding the HASHTAG to your posts...

!!!SECOND BOOK TO BE RELEASED IN BIRTHDAY WEEK!!!

It is with great joy, excitement, gratitude and love that I wish to share that a sequel to my first book - "Memoirs of a Sai Student" will be released in the holy week when we celebrate the 89th Birthday of Bhagawan Sri ‪#‎SathyaSai‬ Baba. I feel honoured to say ‪#‎happybirthdaySwami‬ in this little way.

Called "Capturing Divinity", it is an autobiographical account of life after college as His photographer. The experiences s...how that if one is alert with God, things can 'click' in the most amazing manner. There is a 'flash' of inspiration in the most unexpected circumstances and even 'negative' experiences can be 'developed' into 'positive' ones.

Like the previous book, it will be available via the SSSST Publications Division. There are plans for the simultaneous release of the ebook via Amazon too. Again, like the previous book, all proceeds from the sale of books will go ENTIRELY and ONLY to Swami's Trust.

It will not be out of place to thank all the readers here for the overwhelming response to the first book which made it the highest-selling book from Book Trust last year. Personally, I was overwhelmed with gratitude to Swami in all of you. Special thanks to Ajish Mohan for the aesthetic cover design.

Will update you soon about the exact date of arrival....

How should we face trials and tribulations? Bhagawan lovingly grants us strength today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, November 11, 2014

You may encounter any number of losses and difficulties in life. You may under...go a lot of suffering. But, you should never give up truth, faith and love. Loss, suffering and difficulties are like the waves in the ocean of life. They just come and go. But the water of the ocean is permanent. Hence develop the faith of ‘water’, i.e., Divinity. The power of the divine name is unparalleled. Do not take it lightly. God’s name is the real diamond. Keep it safe and secure. Do not ever be bothered by pain and suffering, losses and difficulties. Your thoughts are like the passing clouds. Once you seek refuge in the lotus feet of the Lord, never give it up. Wherever you go, the divine feet will protect you. If you install the divine name firmly in your heart, your life will become sanctified. That is devotion (bhakti). That is your power (sakthi). That is liberation (mukti).

- Divine Discourse, 13 Nov 2007.

The grace of God is like insurance. It will help you in your time of need without any limit. - BABA

#HappyBirthdaySwami

Today is Krishna Paksha Panchami of Karthika Month, and Ardhra Nakshatra. In short today is the 89th Birthday of our beloved Bhagawan as per the Indian calendar. ...As children let us all wish our dear lord #HappyBirthdaySwami

Marking this important event the staff of General Hospital at Puttaparthi had organised a grand and elaborate ceremony. It started with Ganapathi Pooja and Mahanyaasa Poorvaka Ekadasha Rudrabhishekam last evening at 6 p.m. This morning at 6 the celebrations started with Asthothara Shatha Sankya Shanghabhishekam followed by Kamala Pushparchana with 108 lotuses. The session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 11:30 and prasadam distribution to all gathered.

Even as we wish our lord on this special day, let us pledge once more to transform our lives so that it becomes a perfect reflection of His message of selflessness!

The SRI SATHYA SAI ARCHIVE building ( Am posting this because I came to know that many are not aware of it! Another example of how Swami works - silently, witho...ut publicity!)

When you visit ‪#‎Puttaparthi‬, don't miss looking up the Vidyagiri hill. Coming up very fast, next to the Sanathana Samskruthi Museum and the University Administrative Block, is the impressive new archive building which will house all the original letters and manuscripts written by Bhagawan along with original films, tapes, photographs and audio spools shot and collected over the decades. All the media will also be digitised and will be accessible to those wishing to seriously study Swami's life and teachings.

Special vaults with controlled temperature, humidity, pressure and dust will house these eternal treasures. It is possibly the only archive of its kind in India and the Trust is sparing no efforts or expense to ensure that all the videos, audios and manuscripts of Bhagawan Sri ‪#‎SathyaSai‬ Baba are preserved for centuries to come.

Proposed inauguration is Guru Poornima 2015.

What is the attitude with which we must go about doing our daily works? Bhagawan explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, November 10, 2014

While performing your duties in your house or outside, constantly remind yourself, “Whatever I do, think or speak, everything belongs to God.” The proper attitude should be, ‘Sarva karma Bhagavath preethyartham’. Take for example, the process of cooking. You add different ingredients to the dish being cooked in definite proportions and try to make them tasty. But the real taste comes only when the job of cooking is done as an offering to God. The food becomes divine when it is offered to God. On the other hand, if the various items are cooked with the attitude, ‘I am doing this job as a routine; I am cooking these items for my family members to partake’, it does not reach God. Hence undertake every act in your life as an offering to God, chanting His Name. Whatever you think, speak or do, consider it as God’s command, God’s work.

- Divine Discourse, 13 Nov 2007.

Do all acts as offerings to God; do not classify some as ‘my work’ and some as ‘His’ work.-BABA.

Is the path to God difficult and complicated? Bhagawan lovingly clarifies today and guides us.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, November 9, 2014

Human life is highly sacred, noble and divine. It should not be wasted in unworthy pursuits. Take to the sacred path and sanctify your time by chanting the divine name. There is no need to allocate a specific time or place for Namasmarana. You can do it wherever you are and whatever you are doing. One needs to pay tax for water, electricity, etc., but there is no tax for Namasmarana. Nobody can stop you from doing it. It is very simple, yet most effective. Many people do not realise its immense value as it is so easy to practise. They think incorrectly that God can be attained only through severe austerities. Chant the divine name without troubling yourself or causing trouble to others. Cultivate love for God. Do not criticise or ridicule anybody. Give happiness to all by sharing your love selflessly. This is true spiritual practice. Follow this simple path, experience ananda and sanctify your lives.

- Divine Discourse Feb 24, 2002.

What is the significance of Akhanda Bhajan? What is the result of such devoted singing? Bhagavan lovingly instructs us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasant...hi Nilayam, Saturday, November 8, 2014

Akhanda Bhajan involves constant contemplation on God in the morning, evening or even during the night time. No doubt, many people today are repeating the holy name; but not with love and steady faith. Some are concerned about how others are singing, whether their tune is in order, etc. This equates to doing namasankirtan with a wavering mind; no transformation will occur with such namasankirtan, despite doing it for hours together. It must be done with absolute concentration and steady faith to achieve transformation. To attain purity that pulverizes all negativity, it is not enough if chanting of the divine name is confined to a limited period. Hence global Akhanda Bhajan is held for 24 hours, every year. Consider yourself very fortunate to participate in an Akhanda Bhajan. If only you make good use of it, your life will be sanctified. Practice Namasmarana and make it a continuous spiritual exercise throughout your life.

- Divine Discourse, 13 Nov 2007.

THE DIVINE STORY OF SHIRDI SAI PARTHI SAI - Part 48

http://media.radiosai.org/journa…/Vol_06/01DEC08/05-ssps.htm

...

The fourteen year old who went from Puttaparthi as Sathyanarayana Raju has returned as Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and is now established in a shed built on a piece of land donated most kindly by Subbamma. This shed is now enshrined in history as Patha Mandiram [Old Mandir].

It is from here that Baba started His Mission that now has grown to immense proportions, spanning all continents. But back in 1940, the crowds were small [by today’s standards] and some were yet to be convinced of Baba’s Divinity. The most important of them was Seshama Raju. Seshama accepted that there was something extra-ordinary about his brother, but found it difficult to accept that this brother of his was in reality God walking on earth!

People today find fault with Seshama, but this is an opinion based on hindsight. We must remember that Seshama merely played a part he was destined to – God wanted to show that there would be ‘Doubting Thomases’, and He cast His own bodily brother as the first doubter. However, Seshama finally realised that he was mistaken and accepted Baba as an Avatar.

In this the last scene of this play we see how finally, even Seshama came around.

Shirdi Sai Parthi Sai was a tele serial originally made in Telugu, which was later translated into many languages. This effort was a devotional offering of legendary Indian actress, Anjali Devi. Swami blessed the commencement of this project in Guru Poornima of 1998 and released it exactly a year later. The speciality of the serial is the narration of the birth and childhood of Shirdi Baba, a revelation that Swami made in the late 80s.

What are the three corner-stone virtues we must cultivate to achieve anything? Bhagawan clearly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, November 7, 2014

Lord Krishna in the Gita says, “You are all part of My Divinity. Hence you should follow Me. My love is divine and sacred. So is yours!” (Mamaivamso jeevaloke jeevabhutah sanatanah). If you truly follow this principle, you will automatically achieve purity. Where there is purity, there is... Divinity. Since time immemorial, each and every one of you are part of Me; you are My very own. Never forget this truth. If you develop faith in this truth, it will amount to reading all the scriptures. Every human being follows Dharma (Righteousness). Where did this Dharma come from? It has come from feeling (bhava), which in turn emanated from faith (vishwas). Where faith is, there Dharma is! That faith is Truth. Dharma is verily the embodiment of Divinity. Truth is God; Faith is God; Love is God; Live in Love. Only when you cultivate Truth, Faith and Love, you can achieve anything.

-Divine Discourse, 13 Nov 2007.

There is no nobler quality in the world than love. It is wisdom. It is righteousness. It is wealth. It is Truth.-BABA.

Radiosai Special: GLOBAL AKHANDA BHAJAN 2014

We can observe a lot of devotional essence in the air for the anticipation of the 24 hour Global Akhanda Bhajan that has scheduled to begin from tomorrow, Saturday, November 8, evening at 6:00pm.... Prashanti Nilayam will be transformed into the nucleus of a Global Sadhana in ‘Namasmarana’ which would continue till November 9, 6:00pm throughout all the parts of the Globe.

As part of the Birthday Celebrations of Bhagawan Baba, on the second Saturday-Sunday in November, Bhajans (devotional singing) are conducted continuously for 24 hours at all Sathya Sai Centres on a global level praying for peace, harmony and bliss to all mankind. The significance of community singing is immense, according to Baba. It is the easiest way to reach God in the present age.

Speaking on the efficacy of Bhajans, Baba says:

"The spiritual vibrations produced by Bhajans confer great joy both on those who sing them and on those who hear the songs. Bhajans remove all negative thoughts, soothe the nerves, purify the mind and fill the body and the heart with sweet love for the divine. As one sings Bhajans, the mind is saturated with God Consciousness and a great ecstasy wells up from within. No mental or intellectual effort is called for, as there is no need to understand anything while uttering the holy names of God and singing His glory.

"The singing and the atmosphere created by Bhajans takes one beyond the realms of the body, mind and intellect and helps to establish communion with the Higher Self (consciousness) within. Therefore, singing Bhajans becomes a beautiful and blissful experience. Many great composers and musicians like Thyagaraja established communion with God through devotional music.”

“Singing the name is liberating. You needn't worry about tune and beat. The beat and tune of the heart is one - So Ham - "I am that". Keep that tune, its enough. It is a great fortune to do namasmarana. We have bhajans here everyday. That is a great fortune. Do not miss and spoil that fortune granted to you. It will lead to fulfillment of your lives.”

Bhajans are not only the vehicle for the description of God’s glory but it also elevates and produces divine ecstasy. It makes the devotee forget oneself and get totally immersed in divinity. Singing His glory is equivalent to making pious pilgrimages and reading sacred texts. It is both contemplation and meditation at the same time. THE DIVINE STORY OF SHIRDI SAI PARTHI SAI - Part 47

EASWARAMMA: Sathyam, my child, if Your mother asks You to do something, You will do it, won’t You?...

SATHYA: I know what you want to ask.

EASWARAMMA: You know?

SATHYA: Yes... I know everything.

EASWARAMMA: Sathyam!

SATHYA: Yes, what I say is indeed Sathyam [Truth]! When I am here, neighbours come to you with all their problems… and you become their spokesperson, don’t you?

EASWARAMMA: Yes! But son, what am I to do? When they worry so much and carry such a heavy burden in their hearts, how can I say no? So…

SATHYA: You carry their problems to Me! And I must give the solutions, isn’t that so? You are becoming their postman!

EASWARAMMA: I don’t know about that… If only I could help them a little bit... Poor things, they are so agitated. Sathyam... Sathyam... Please oblige this mother of Yours and provide the solutions to their problems.

SATHYA: Yes, I will do so, but…

EASWARAMMA: But? What is the meaning of this ‘but’?

SATHYA: Will you prepare the dish Bobbatlu for Me?

Sacred Past - Akanda Bhajan

(Year 2010 -"first time in the history of Prasanthi Nilayam, Akhanda Bhajan is held in the open Sai Kulwant Hall.")

"On this auspicious evening Bhagawan arrived at 1805 hrs. to the holy chants of Vedam. Completing a full round of the Sai Kulwant Hall that was well lit and filled to capacity, Bhagawan came onstage at 1820 hrs., blessing many enroute....

Soon Bhagawan lit the "Akhanda Jyothi" set on the dais, behind the "Seat of The Divine" officially marking the commencement of the 24-hour Bhajan Yajna. ...And simultaneously boys burst open with an opening aalaap bhajan, "Shuklambhara Dharam Vishnum Sashi Varnam Chaturbhujam..." singing the bhajan invoking the Lord of remover of obstacles, "Vinayaka...Vinayaka...". Anantapur students followed up with the thematic bhajan, "Anatara Jyothi Jalaao Sai..." and the session continued with both boys and girls singing alternatively.

As Bhagawan sat through, glued at the devoted public, many an aalap piece were produced intermittently by boys, giving a twist to the normal Akahanda Bhajans over the years. Some of the old bhajans, not so often heard in Prasanthi Nilayam were also sung, especially by the Anantapur Wing invoking nostalgic feeling of the golden past. Interestingly this is for the first time in the history of Prasanthi Nilayam, Akhanda Bhajan is held in the open Sai Kulwant Hall. For the past more than an year, ever since Bhagawan started the trend of twilight darshan sessions, Prasanthi has been blessed with longer bhajan sessions, effectively producing mini-akhanda bhajan sessions invariably."

TALK: Reaction Reflection Resound

Everything in the universe is plain #reaction, #reflection and #resound. At first glance, the three terms appear to mean the same thing from different perspectives. But there is a subtle and significant difference. "Reaction" teaches us how we are bound by the action-reaction cycle or #karma. "Reflection" gives us hope and courage to break free of that cycle. "Resound" gives added impetus by showing that 'good' can actually be amplified beyond our imagination.

This is a talk delivered in the #Satsangh Hall at Prasanthi Nilayam and is peppered with many personal experiences with Sri #SathyaSai Baba as well as the experiences of other students and devotees.

How should we discharge our daily duties and why is it important? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today in His own inimitable style.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, November 6, 2014

Always attend to your duties wit...h a pleasant and smiling face. There is no use putting a ‘castor oil face’. Happiness is union with God. That is real Divinity. When you are confronted with difficult situations do not get upset and constantly worry thinking, “Oh My! How do I cross this situation?”. Such worry will only worsen the situation. Repose your faith in God. Think that difficulties are opportunities for your advancement. If you develop this attitude, your life will be sanctified. Whoever does Namasmarana, whatever name they take and wherever they are, their life will be sanctified. They will be free from sin. Do not be too much concerned or bogged down with raga and tala (tune and rhythm). There is only one Raga, that is Hridayaraga (the tune of your own heart). That is ‘So… ham’ (“I am I”). Tune your life Unto Him. Then, whatever activity you undertake, it becomes a success.

- Divine Discourse, 13 Nov 2007.

The Divine Atma, inherent in you, can be seen like embers only when ego, anger, desire and body attachment are blown away by chanting the name of Lord.-BABA

Radio Sai Guru Nanak Jayanthi Special Get Inspired: GURU NANAK AND MOOLA (From our Archive)

Guru Nanak Jayanti is also known as ‘Gurpurab’. This sacred day marks the significance of the birth of the first Sikh Guru – Guru Nanak. This day, celebrated like a festival, falls in the month of Kartik (November) according to the Hindu calendar. It is one of the most religious days celebrated in Sikh religion and is celebrated mostly in Punjab and Haryana on a massive scale.

There... are many people who follow the philosophy Guru Nanak. The holy book of Sikhs, the Guru Granth Sahib is continuously chanted and processions are carried out and carrying the holy book decorated with flowers. Guru Nanak Jayanti is celebrated by reciting hymns since morning from various scriptures.

Radio Sai Team wishes you all a Happy Guru Parav!!

"There are those who actually seek the truth and there or those who only seek to escape their responsibilities," said the Guru, "but the way I have come to show is to live in service to God in the daily world, keeping His Name on our lips and in our minds. Renunciation of outer things does not make for inner righteousness. Words are meaningless unless translated into action."

Guru Nanak then repeated to him the Jap Ji (what is now one of the most famous Sikh scriptures), and Moola returned home to live the life of a householder, keeping all his Guru’s teachings in his heart.”

Above are some excerpts from Special Get Inspired GURU NANAK AND MOOLA. Read rest of it here in our web link: http://media.radiosai.org/journals/Vol_05/01NOV07/12-nanak.htm

SECOND PERSON: Subbamma has tremendous devotion for Bala Swami.

THIRD PERSON: Apart from devotion, Subbamma is also a very generous lady. That is why she so readily offered help.

YET ANOTHER MAN: It is Easwaramma’s blessing to have given birth to Bala Swami, while it is our good fortune and blessing to be able to listen to His Divine Discourses.

FIRST PERSON: Swami taking birth in this village of Puttaparthi is the result of the good merit earned by its inhabitants in previous births.

Today 6th November 2014 is Guru Nanak Jayanti

Guru Nanak Jayanti 2014 falls on November 6

Gurpurab , also known as Guru Nanak Birthday, is the birthday of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak, and one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism.

Celebrations take place on a large scale in Punjab, Haryana and other parts of the world where Sikhs reside. Processions are taken out and verses from the Guru Granth Sahib are recited.

The festivities in Sikhism revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. These Gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs. Their birthdays, known as Gurpurabs, are occasions for celebration and prayer among the Sikhs.

The birthday of Guru Nanak Sahib falls on Kartik Poornima, i.e., the day of the full moon in the month of Kartik. In the Gregorian Calendar, the birthday of Guru Nanak usually falls in the month of November, but its date varies from year to year, based on the traditional dates of the Indian calendar.

A few days before Guru Purab, people take out Prabhat Pheris or the early morning processions from the Gurdwaras. They go around their locality singing shabd or the religious hymns.

Later in the day, special kirtans are arranged in the Gurdwaras. The devotees attend langar or the common meals where everyone eats the same food irrespective of caste, class, or creed. Devotees offer their services for cooking food, cleaning the Gurdwara or carrying out other chores. This is called the Kar Seva.

One of the main shrines of the Sikhs is the Golden Temple of Amritsar, in Punjab, where Sikhism has a real hold. The Temple foundations were Laid by the Fourth Guru, Guru Ram Das (1534-1581).

The entire Sikh community gets engaged in the true festive mood. Delectable delicacies are also prepared on this holy occasion and distributed.

Radiosai invites you to soak in that bliss of Darshan. Starting from Guru Poornima every Thursday, we will offer you a small Darshan clip, to live and relive that magical experience. Stay tuned with us to watch this space every Thursday for your 'Thursday Divine Darshan'!

When the compassionate Lord chose to move amidst us..even as He glided past us and before us, He silently slipped into our hearts too! The eyes that were intoxicated with the beauty of His Darshan and never satiated, unknowingly then, turned within in search of that divine glimpse. Isn't that how He purified us, isn't that how He made us seekers? That was the magic of our Sai's Darshan!

Looking at Swami we wondered, was He more gracious or more graceful..nay He is verily grace itself - when He walks, when He talks, when He scolds, or when he gathers His robe's folds, when he smiles and beckons or in disappointment frowns..Seeing His grace our hearts gaped, 'How could one be so very graceful?' He could be, because He was as gracious as He was graceful, and to shower His grace was the very purpose of His presence. Darshan was that special moment when He allowed us to witness His gracefulness and graciousness.

What is the most definitive way to receive Divine Grace and Energy in plenty? Bhagawan lovingly shares the secret with us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Today the world is facing a lot of problems because people are not doing enough Namasamarana. Let each and every street reverberate with the singing of the divine glory. May each and every cell of... your body be filled with the Divine Name. Nothing else can give you the bliss, courage and strength that you derive from Namasamarana. Even if others make fun of you, ignore it, let it go! Everyone young or old, rich or poor, must do Namasamarana. Do it with all your mind and total dedication. Sing to the Lord without any inhibitions; only then can you experience divine bliss. You do not need any musical instruments - it is enough if you call Him from the core of your heart. Take care that you do not have evil thoughts as they will produce discordant notes. Then you will receive divine grace and energy.

- Divine Discourse, 14 April 2002.

Contemplate on God with all your heart. Chant His name and surrender to Him to redeem your lives. -BABA.

THE DIVINE STORY OF SHIRDI SAI PARTHI SAI - Part 45

http://media.radiosai.org/journals/Vol_06/01SEP08/05-ssps.htm

LADY 1: Did you hear that this Young Swami is God? It seems that people from all the surrounding places ...are flocking to have the darshan of Bala Swami.

LADY 2: Sister, I too want to have the darshan of this Young Swami. Shall we all go together for darshan?

GROUP: Alright.

LADY: Come sister, we shall all go together.

GROUP: Alright. ….. What do you say? …. Come on, come!……….Come mother…..Here auntie……. I am coming!

MAN 1: Kondama Raju is Guru for all of us but for him, his Grandson is the Guru!

MAN 2: Not just Guru but God in human form, with miraculous powers.

VENKAMA RAJU: They believe that Sathyam is God. In many neighbouring places also, Sathyam is revered as God. But there are also some that disbelieve, while others attribute it all to magic and mantras. Easwari, what can we do about the way people think?

EASWARAMMA: Even father-in-law thinks that Sathyam is God.

VENKAMA: That is true. Once he said to me that his Guru Venkavadoota told him that in order to protect the world, Lord Narayana would Himself be born in the Ratnakara lineage. Based on that prediction, father believes that our Sathyam is Lord Sriman Narayana.

EASWARAMMA: Is it? Listening to all that you say, perhaps what Venkavadoota said has come true. In any case, whatever happens, Sathyam must always be near me.

What is the attitude with which we must lead our lives and perform actions? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today with an indelible example!

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, November 4, 2014

A man was performing a m...arriage in a village. Due to the insufficiency of cooking vessels, the person went to a rich man to borrow them for the occasion. The rich man generously loaned them and the vessels were used to cook a feast to serve the guests attending the wedding. After the function, can the dirty vessels be returned to the owner? No! The vessels must be cleaned inside and outside thoroughly and then be returned. This is true also for the vessel present within you, loaned by God - your heart! All of you are pilgrims in the journey of life. Just as you cannot misuse the borrowed vessel or return it unclean, your heart too must be maintained and returned pure and clean. Do not use the God-gifted heart and limbs to undertake unholy actions and get involved in unnecessary relationships, growing more in bondage. Lead a pure life.

-My Dear Students, Vol 3, Ch 17, “Sri Adi Shankaracharya: His Message”

When your heart is filled with good thoughts and feelings, all that comes out of the senses - your speech, your vision and your action - will all be pure. - BABA.

THE DIVINE STORY OF SHIRDI SAI PARTHI SAI - Part 44

http://media.radiosai.org/journals/Vol_06/01AUG08/05-ssps.htm

PRINCIPAL: Students! In the past, Sathyam used to lead the Prayer Session everyday. And we all know He w...as very good at it. But Sathyam has now discontinued School and taken to the spiritual path. He has resolved to go on the path of devotion, and will soon make His Voice of Love heard all over the world. So, today I want one of you to lead the Prayer Session. Gafur Khan, you come here and start the proceedings.

But despite that there is an air of vacuum. All the boys, including Gafur were so used to seeing their Sathyam lead the prayer session that somehow that day’s session left a feeling of unrest and dissatisfaction in their hearts. Sensing this, the principal said:

PRINCIPAL: Boys, calm down! Sathyam gave His love to all of you, and along with that a Prayer Song that will remain in our hearts for all time to come. Your love for Sathyam is very evident. Instead of merely singing a prayer song, you have all poured out your hearts. Now that the session is over, all of you may go to your respective classes.

All the sevadal, youth, devotees (both ladies and gents) and various office bearers thanked Bhagavan for giving them an opportunity to serve the needy with Love and Passion. All of them yet again proved that “Hands that Serve are holier than the Lips that Pray”.

What is the present challenge the youth must overcome? Bhagawan lovingly answers this question through the precept of the great saint, Adi Shankara.

Today’s Sai... Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, November 3, 2014

Adi Shankara remarked to his disciples that young people were more keen on sensuous pleasures than enquire about the Soul (Atma). It is piteous that people are more attached to the body, which is a container of many filthy objects. They are carried away by the external physical attractions of the body, without understanding its impermanence. How long can youth last? His message is a strong warning to the young to be very careful in the life they lead and encourages them to shed body-consciousness. You must practice recognising the Divine Principle present in all beings, even though they may be called by different names and appear different. Youth must hold fast to God as their only true Friend and Supporter. Once you have firm faith, the Divine will Himself manifest and reveal Himself to you.

THE DIVINE STORY OF SHIRDI SAI PARTHI SAI - Part 43

http://media.radiosai.org/journals/Vol_06/01JUL08/05-ssps.htm

SESHAMA: Suseela, can you please get me some water?...

SUSEELA: Yes I will. But tell me did you write to your father and mother?

SESHAMA: Well, I have sent a messenger immediately. But I am still not able to decide whether Sathyam’s behaviour is due to immaturity or mental imbalance.

SUSEELA: Why should we think that way? Why can’t it be the Will of Providence? If there is no Divinity in Him, then how can we explain the Vibhuti and all those other articles that He materializes? And why will so many people offer Aarathi to Sathyam? Look at it this way - ants gather only where there is jaggery and similarly devotees flock only where there is Divinity!

SESHAMA: What Divinity and what devotees are you talking about?! I don’t see any. No matter how many times I call Him back home, He refuses to come. When father and mother arrive and we hand Him over to them, our responsibility would be over.

SUSEELA: When I take food to Him, He says, “Offer it as Naivedyam [sacred offering] to God.” To the devotees, He says, “Perform worship on Thursdays”. We just don’t know what Sathyam will do till mother-in-law and father-in-law come.

SESHAMA: Well, I guess we will have to wait and see.

What is the most important duty of every parent? Bhagawan lovingly guides today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, November 2, 2014

Today many parents, even those highly educated, are acting without any sense of discrimination – discouraging children from worshipping God and participating in bhajans. They tell them that they would have ample time to think of God, post retirement. This is a grave mistake. You can remember God in old age, only when you practice thinking of Him from early on. Childhood is a very sacred and golden phase in human life - do not misuse it! Gayatri Mantra is the embodiment of Mother Principle. Practice chanting it every day – in the morning, afternoon and evening. When your back is towards the Sun, your shadow will be in front of you. It will fall behind you only when you stand facing the Sun. Similarly illusion (maya), which is like your shadow, will overpower you when you turn your mind away from God. You can easily overcome illusion, when you turn your mind towards God.

Rama Raju’s house...

RAMA RAJU: Seshama Raju, we are indeed very happy that you brought your brother Sathyam to our town.

SESHAMA: It was our pleasure to receive your kind hospitality.

RAMA RAJU: Places visited by the pious become holy and sacred. In such places, even the grains of sand contemplate on the Divine! ……..Seshama Raju, please accept this token of our affection.

SESHAMA: Oh no! Why all this! Your love and affection alone are more than enough.

RAMA RAJU: It is our tradition to honour our respected guests; please take this…… That one is for Sathyam….. The collar pin will look very beautiful on You. Please accept.

SATHYA: This is made of gold. Gold lies beneath our feet as ore inside the earth. The ore is first taken out, put in fire and then refined. Only then it becomes the precious metal that everyone admires. Just as objects gain beauty with processing, man develops Divinity with culture and refinement.

MAN: How nicely put!

SATHYA: I have no attachment for such things, but since you have given it with love, I am accepting it.

RAMA RAJU: We hope you will come again and give us happiness.

SESHAMA: Most certainly! We can never forget your hospitality. We now take your leave.

ALL: Thank you!

SATHYA: Venkamma, enough. The pain will go off by itself.

SUBBAMMA: Boy, is it paining much? That wicked fellow tortured the poor innocent child and even shaved the head.

EASWARAMMA: Subbamma! I pleaded that Sathya should not be taken to that witch doctor; but no one listened to my words! That evil man has even slashed the scalp. How much my dear boy would have suffered! I don’t know how He was able to bear it all.

SISTER: We were under the impression that he would merely chant some incantations and set things right. We did not even dream that he would inflict torture like this.

KONDAMA RAJU: If, instead of treating, he inflicted torture like this, he cannot be a native doctor; rather, he must be the devil itself!

SISTER: Grandpa, all his methods were brutal. That’s why, we quietly escaped without anyone’s knowledge and came away. If we had not, he would have caused even greater harm to Sathyam.

FATHER: Seshama had at least that much sense!

SUBBAMMA: Easwaramma, right away stop all these crazy treatments. Sathyam is the boon of Lord Sathya Narayana. That God will be the support of Sathyam and protect Him. I will now take your leave, Easwaramma. ….Sathyam I will be back later.

SATHYA: Alright Subbamma. ……[To sister who is trying to apply balm] No, Venkamma, it would heal on its own.

SISTER: Sathyam, don’t say that! Unless some medicine is applied, it cannot heal on its own.

EASWARAMMA: My dear boy, don’t say no; allow the medicine to be applied.

Yajur Mandir - The Divine Abode of Supreme Lord

Yajur Mandir is the sacred space sanctified by the physical presence of our beloved Bhagawan from 2006 to 2011. The Yajur Mandir was indeed a special place for more reasons than one. It was the first building in Puttaparthi built specifically to serve as a residence for the lord. In 1945 the 'Pata Mandiram' was more of a Bhajan hall, one corner of which was the tiny room that Bhagawan occupied. But golden day they were indeed; for Swami spent most of his time with devotees, at times even sleeping with all others in the courtyard. In 1950 when the Prasanthi Mandir was built, again the main part of the building was the spacious Bhajan Hall with altar. Here too Bhagawan occupied one of the smallest rooms in the building.

In the 1990s, He lived in a room which was nothing more that the greenroom of the Poornachandra auditorium, modified to be used as Swami's room. He lived in that place for over a decade. After much persuasion and prayers, Swami finally consented for a residence to be built for Him. As a culmination of years of prayer, Swami finally moved into this new mandir during the Ugadi of 2006.

But it is interesting that Bhagawan did not name it after Himself or after the devotee who prayerfully got it built (like Sai Kulwant Hall or Mirpuri College of Music.) He chose the name Yajur Mandir. The word Yajur is familiar to us as used in the name Yajur Veda, one of the four Vedas. The word Yajur is derived from the root word Yajus meaning sacrificial offering or sacrifice. So Yajur Veda is that body of knowledge that instructs one how sacrifices are to be made.

Likewise Yajur Mandir could mean a mandir built from sacrifices. What a beautiful message that is for all of us? Swami reminds us that the heart which has been sanctified by worshipful sacrifices and selflessness alone can become His mandir. Yajur Mandir could also mean the temple where the Embodiment of sacrifice and selflessness is enshrined. Isn't that a perfect description of a building that serves as Bhagawan's residence?

Hey Deenanatha Sairam - Eternal Joy Through Selfless Service

“If you lift the hand to serve, to help, to console, to encourage another man you are lifting it for God, because in every man is God. Be of service to others, for that is giving yourself to Me. For whatever you give, I will repay you thrice; nay I shall repay you ten-fold. Try Me and you will see. I say to those who know the joy of giving, look back! Yes, look back and see how each time you felt that nothing but a miracle could save you, keep you alive, fill your larder, save your son, stop a disaster - has not that miracle happened?

Divine guidance is always at the side of the giver. Yes, I will give to those who give of themselves, untold Joy and Bliss; and what is more, I will lead them by the hand along those petal strewn paths of Eternal Joy. Every deed performed, do it in My Name. Every person who passes near your path gives them the sweetness of your smile. Give freely of the nectar of your cup of happiness, of kindness, of Blissfulness. Give the warmth of your love. Extend your hand as I extend Mine to you.” - Baba

Learn the mesmerising bhajan ‘Koti Pranaam Shata Koti Pranaam, Hey Deenanatha Sairam’ through which we could offer our humble Pranaam at the lotus feet of our dearest Lord and celebrate the joyfulness of chanting His divine name.

On this auspicious month we should create an environment of spirituality and divinity around us. We have to adopt a practical attitude toward spiritual life. With holy thoughts and spiritual essence, we must go out into the world and spread our sacred feelings among others. That is the only thing Swami wants from us to spread His universal message of Selfless love among all. Let us unite to start a Sai filled month and celebrate our Lord’s 89th Birthday!

Thank you and loving Sai Ram,

Team Radio Sai

What is our reality? Bhagawan explains and lovingly teaches us how to separate the real from th unreal through a simple and effective example.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, November 1, 2014

The body is made up of five elements and is not real at any time. Body is like a water bubble. The bubble is born in water, sustained in water and ultimately merges in the water. Similarly the Self is born from Divine Consciousness (Sachidananda) and merges ultimately in the Divine. Birth and death are scenes in this drama of life; do not consider them to be true. In your sleep you may have seen many mansions, but when you are awake, you don’t see any of them! The buildings you see during your day are not visible to you when you are asleep. Hence both are untrue – day-dreams and night-dreams at best! The only fact in it is that ‘you’ are present in both times. Similarly though you have a human form, in reality you are Divine. Therefore sanctify this birth by leading a pure and sacred life. Don’t accumulate the dirt of worldly life.

Virtue is the salt of life; Love is the highest virtue. Develop love by sharing it. -BABA.

The Voice of Pure Love, The Message of Selfless Service

Radiosai Special facebook Timeline cover to Celebrate this Auspicious month of November!

To a spiritual ...aspirant, He is the divine master par excellence; to a rationalist, He is the greatest humanitarian on earth; to thousands of modern youth, He is the leader with a dynamic vision and a colossus of inspiration; to a devotee, He is simply divinity in human form; and to everyone who has had the opportunity to behold Him, He is Pure Love Walking on Two Feet.

Ask Bhagawan Baba, “Are you God?” And He says- “Yes, I am God and so are you. The only difference between you and I is that while I am aware of this fact, you are not.”

And this is no casual remark. Indeed, inherent in this small, but extremely significant statement, is the fundamental truth of humanity’s divine nature - its true reality; and revivifying the heart of every human being to this salient truth is the mission and message of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Very aptly, Baba begins His every discourse, addressing the gathering as, “Embodiments of the Divine Atma”.

All who listen to Him, experience His unconditional love, benefit from His caring counsel and witness His supernormal supremacy over mind and matter, get a real glimpse of the glory and majesty of God, and therefore, of the infinity that each human potentially and inherently is.

Radio Sai ~ God's own Radio Station

With the Divine Blessings of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Radio Sai went on air for the first time on November 23, 2001. It was inaugurated by Bhagawan Baba as a channel of the World Space Satellite Radio service. Radio Sai has over the years grown into an Internet Radio streaming service offering six different, 24/7 streams - Asia, Afri, Ameri, Telugu, Discourse and Bhajan Stream.

Now, on radiosai.org you will find insightful articles, inspiring stories, interviews with devotees, photo galleries, quizzes and the various videos produced by Radio Sai. You can also read the ‘Sai Inspires’, the thought for the day from Prasanthi Nilayam or subscribe and receive the daily Sai Inspires and other updates from Radio Sai through e-mail. Since Bhagawan’s 86th Birthday (23 Nov 2011) the Radio Sai team has started the live video streaming of all programmes that take place in the Sai Kulwant Hall. This is indeed great opportunity for the devotees to witness Live proceeding of various programs and festivals direct from Prasanthi Nilayam from their own place.
