PARTHI NEWS - MAY 2014

Why is it that we find it difficult to set aside time for our spiritual activities? Bhagawan candidly explains so we may correct our course.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, May 31, 2014

You spend ...a lot of time on useless, momentary, temporary and worldly activities. Are you spending even a second of it for God? It is sufficient even if you concentrate for one second truly on the Lotus feet of Lord Krishna. If someone is given a Shiva Lingam, they have difficulty in worshipping it with Abhishekam (holy prayerful bath). But they have time to clean their shoes or other objects with utmost care and interest. They struggle to find time to perform Abhishekam with a spoon of water. It is not that they don’t have time and the process is tedious. They lack interest. People are more interested in worldly activities. You lack interest in something that is pure. Only because of lack of purity, you are losing the power of discrimination. ‘Shraddhavan Labhate Jnanam’ – only out of deep interest can one acquire wisdom. Hence we must develop interest in spiritual subjects.

-My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 4, June 26, 1989.

Consider all your acts as worship. Duty is God, Work is Worship. Whatever happens accept it gladly as His handiwork, a sign of His compassion. – BABA.

'Sathya Sai with Students' blog team presents articles for Week 89.

1. DISCOURSES TO STUDENTS: Swami is an unparalleled story-teller. His stories have a rare mix of content and intent; of description followed by a prescription; of history laced with humour; and of a message to be followed in His mission. Here is one such story narrated by Swami to His students: The Monkey and the crocodile.

http://sathyasaiwithstudents.blogspot.in/2014/05/the-monkey-and-crocodile-sri-sathya-sai.html

2. EXPERIENCES OF STUDENTS: Brother Venkatesh Prasad writes on the theme: "Is Mother and Swami Different?"

http://sathyasaiwithstudents.blogspot.in/2014/05/is-swami-and-mother-different-by.html

3. CONVERSATIONS WITH STUDENTS: This is the time of the year when students and staff of Swami's educational institutions would have the wonderful opportunity of interacting with Him in His close physical proximity at Trayee Brindavan. To reminisce those wonderful moments and events, we present a series titled 'Trayee Sessions' for the period April to June 2001. This post records the happenings of May 28, 2001.

http://sathyasaiwithstudents.blogspot.in/2014/05/trayee-sessions-part-7.html

4. MANAGEMENT LESSONS: What is the connection between social progress and corporate organisations? Swami gives us the guidelines and also gives the true inner significance of a 'HINDU'.

http://sathyasaiwithstudents.blogspot.in/2014/05/guidelines-for-social-progress-role-of.html

5. THIS DAY THAT AGE: Swami has highlighted the importance of a universal approach to life. But he has also lived every moment of His life by practicing what He preached. In this month, 54 years ago, Swami expressed His gratitude to a buffalo. Read on for a brief yet fascinating story of gratitude.

How is human birth so special and how must we make use of it? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, May 30, 2014

One should realise the infinite powers latent in oneself. It is these powers which have enabled mankind to invent the most wonderful kinds of machinery. Humans are, therefore, more valuable than the most precious things in the world. It is human beings who imparts value to things by the ch...anges they make in them, as in the case of diamonds or a work of art. In the spiritual field, humans are enjoined at the very outset to know oneself. One should not be a slave of the senses. Nor should one follow others like sheep. ‘Be a ship and not sheep.’ A ship serves to carry others and cross the Ocean. The one who pursues the spiritual path not only benefits himself but promotes the well-being of others. Consider the body as a vessel, wisdom as a rope 'and use the vessel to draw the nectar of Divinity from the well of spirituality. Not otherwise can immortality be attained.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 11, Mar 5, 1995.

The human body, so fitted with skills, so capable of great adventures, is a gift from God to each one of you. - Baba

What are the strengths acquired by a person practicing righteousness? Bhagawan beautifully explains with an example today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, May 29, 2014

Dharmaraja always had Bheema... to his left and Arjuna to his right. What is the significance? Bheema is remembered as a person of physical strength. Arjuna is known for his purity and valour. Do not take it that Dharmaraja was merely surrounded by people with physical strength and valour. Dharmaraja was always upright in practicing right conduct and moral principles. Hence, Bhima too always obeyed him and never misused his physical strength anywhere. Arjuna personified purity and possessed various powers and capabilities. He also won the friendship of Lord Krishna and various honours from Indra and others. Unlike the present day honours awarded by various Governments, Arjuna wore purity and valour as his decorations. Because purity and valour were on either sides, righteousness prevailed during the rule of Dharmaraja or Yudishtra.

-My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 5, June 26, 1989.

There is no greater spiritual practice than adhering to the principles of truth and love.-BABA

Are we giving more importance to worldly education that is due to it? Bhagawan explains and gives valuable advice.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, May 28, 2014

In the world today, knowledge falls... into three categories. (1) In terms of daily life, there is factual knowledge based on perception. To treat facts as truth and fiction as untruth is practical knowledge. (2) In the second category are those who regard the phenomenal world as real and treat all that cannot be seen or heard as unreal or non-existent. They regard Nature as real and God as non-existent. (3) The third category consists of those who make no distinction between one thing and another and hold the view that the whole universe is a projection of the Divine and is permeated by the Divine. This is spiritual knowledge. Doubtless, knowledge of the phenomenal world is necessary. But one should go beyond it to know the Eternal and Unchanging Reality. Education is not the be-all and end-all of life; tt is only a part of it. Virtues are the backbone of life and spiritual path is the only means of cultivating it.

- Divine Discourse, June 26, 1989.

Real freedom exists in submitting to the Will of the Divine and not acting according to one’s caprices and fancies. - BABA

Why must we take courage to follow the spiritual path? Bhagawan gently reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, May 27, 2014

In the conflict between the Materialistic Path (Preyo Marg) and the Spiritual Path (Shreyo Marg), people are deluded into materialism and are ready to sacrifice their lives for sensory pleasure. Instead, should they not dedicate their lives for higher truth? The power of Shreyas can confer boundless bl...iss. Those who are after sensuous pleasures will not readily listen to the words of others who advise them to give up their evil ways. On the contrary, they will try to drag them down to their level. Those who pursue the spiritual path benefit themselves and also promote the wellbeing of others. They are like the incense-stick that consumes itself in the process of spreading fragrance. Hence pursue Shreyo Marg and realise your inherent Divinity.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 11, Mar 5, 1995.

Why should we invest time in discovering our own reality? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, May 26, 2014

The basic cause for the occurrence of feelings like hatred, jealousy and anger is that your human body is constituted by the five elements. As long as the body remains, it will be subject to these emotions. For instance, the experience derived through the senses and the mind occurs when you a...re awake. When you are sleeping, they are not present. During your sleep, even the mind is absent; you are unconscious even of your breath. In the dream state, you are not even aware of the life process. It is clear that experiences in the dream state are real in that state. There are no dreams in the waking state and there are no perceptions of the waking state in the dream state. In both situations the ‘I’ is the same, only the states are different. Hence reality or Truth is that ‘I’ (Divine Soul) which remains in all the states, and in past, present and future.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 11, Mar 5, 1995.

Whatever you do, whatever you see, whatever you speak, saturate it with Divinity so that you may be aware of your Reality. - BABA.

Most people hate rules and love freedom. Do we need more freedom? Bhagawan lovingly guides us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, May 25, 2014

Youngsters feel that they need more freedom, and they dislike sense control. They think that they should be able to go where they like and live as they please, without any restrictions. Birds and animals enjoy such freedom. There is no rule whatsoever for monkeys and dogs. They wander w...here they want and do what they please whenever they wish. What is the specialty of human beings? A human being is one who understands what ‘Sveccha’ truly means (generally translated as ‘One’s will’). Sva (Self) + Ichcha (Desires or thoughts) = Sveccha. Living with thoughts relating to the Divine Self (Atma) is Swecha. Following the demands of the body is not Swecha. After discriminating good and bad, and right and wrong, you must exercise control over the body, observe the thoughts entertained by the mind and follow that which gives satisfaction to your Divine Nature. That is true freedom.

- My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 5, June 26, 1989.

Just as the end of culture is progress, the end of knowledge is love, so also, the end of wisdom is freedom.-BABA.

How can we subdue our senses? Bhagawan explains lucidly through a practical example today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, May 24, 2014

You hear some good news and a little later, you hear some ...sad news. Sometime after that you hear harsh and abusive words. Your ears heard all words of praise and blame alike. But when happy news was told, your heart felt elated, and it shrunk when sad news was heard. The same heart got enraged when the ears heard harsh words and was filled with joy when it heard words of praise! The ears by themselves are incapable of any reaction; they merely transmit the message. Thus the senses by themselves are not conscious, they are inconscient (Jada). Then how can the operations of these senses and the experiences resulting from them be deemed as Truth or Reality (Sathya)? Understand clearly that as the senses are unreliable, the reactions produced by them are also equally unreliable. If you enquire along these lines, you will develop discrimination and can easily overcome sorrow.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2,Ch 11, March 5, 1995.

Anger clouds the mind and deludes it; delusion clouds you from yourself; your senses are the root cause of anger. – BABA

What is the hallmark of true devotion? Bhagawan firmly reiterates today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, May 23, 2014

A true devotee would never get disgusted at any point of time, nor get bored, ti...red or vexed listening to the same teachings. You may perhaps be hearing the same message over and over again from Bhagawan! How do you rationalize this? Don’t you take food repeatedly for the same stomach, several times during your lifetime? Don’t you wash the same face many times in a week? That music, which you consider as pleasurable, don’t you listen to it, many times frequently? Consider an even simpler example: you drink coffee or tea – have you ever got bored of it, despite consuming it for 15 or 20 years? You perhaps wait for that cup with excitement and enthusiasm, and will even get a headache if it is delayed by a couple of minutes! Similarly, it is essential to listen to such spiritual instructions, ruminate and experience the joy of devotion without the slightest feeling of disinterestedness.

-My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 4, June 26, 1989.

Devotion (Bhakti) is not like a fever medicine that you take when you are ill; it must be your daily vitamin to keep good physical and mental health. – BABA.

The Gita of Sathya Sai Lives on....

This photo gallery is dedicated in loving remembrance of Sai Geetha, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's long time pet elephant. She merged with her beloved Lord on Tuesday, 22 May 2007, at around 1800 hrs IST.

Train accident victim Baby Samruddhi and our team

N:B The views expressed in it are personal

Om Sri Sairam

Being dust, ChemburDust that is
we hang out at the bottom .

Bottom of the Pyramid.

A conscious choice to connect with the real 'Janta'
whom even the Politicos and Marketmen
die to touchbase with for a Reality check.

Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP) is in focus of many.
May be for numbers. But our agenda is

to just Love All and Serve All anonymously

with our dear Marias, who joined us recently.

(Before Marias returns back and troubles, we need to finish the main story..

So here we go...)

Down here in BOP,each encounter is a lesson.Whether its

the Tata footpath where we distribute food to cancer patients

or the poor dialysis patients served breakfast every morning

or the poor slum youth,we train to 'get counted in' by society

or the Villages we frequent to save Rainwater

or the Ashram shalas we try to fill the gaps in "bare minimum"

and many one off seva like the one below...,

its always a learning experience from
an unpublicised course on -

'How to live only on hope when there is no sign of light

in the endless tunnel we seem to travel...'

Daily we get to witness the grit and determination
of the poor illiterates, mainly women, who fight valiantly

to save their dear ones from the jaws of death..

Seeing them in action is a moving experience.

They put out their best and fight.

Against all odds,with meagre resources.

It is in sharp contrast to the lives of
many city folks, who need Psychiatric help even

to handle a small gap between two jobs.

Or a routine relationship issue.

To learn a thing or two from this real battle,
visit BOP.And thank your God a million times

for all the blessings you have and they dont.

And repay the debt to Him by Loving and Serving all,

silently,without limelight and fanfare,

when the Seva opportunities pass by your door as below...

Its a real life story being played out now.
Jayaram Nakte,a poor labourer from Panvel near Mumbai

lived in his own small world populated by his wife Surekha

and his three little daughters
Jhanvi 4 yrs, Samruddhi 3 yrs and Manasvi 3 months.

Their fight was only against Poverty till May 4,2014,

the day the Diva-Sawantwadi train they travelled,
derailed killing 22 passengers near Roha.

While Surekha lost her life instantly,

the rest of the tamily landed in
different hospitals badly injured.

Now the battle is on all fronts.

Of them, little Samruddhi,3 yrs, lost a leg
that the docs had to amputate to save her.
(pic below)

Pic: The train accident and little Samruddhi with amputated leg

This attracted media attention.Help poured from all over.

Good Samaritans of the city pitched in.

We rushed to the hospital to figure out
any role play for us if needed.

(Like we did for 26/11 Kasab attack victims)

Spoke to the family and found them ill equipped.

As the story value in media petered out,
the number of visitors also dwindled.

Thats when we decided to pitch in and help.

To provide moral and resource support
to the extent possible..

We discussed with the family members
and mapped their immediate needs.

Four of them are taking care of the patients now

The care givers, being themselves poor, need food and
many odd requirements fulfilled.

Sion hospital is doing its best for the patients

within their limitation.

Now,we carry food for the care givers every morning and night

and fulfill other odd needs as they arise

(and requested them that our anonymity be honoured).

After days of trauma and visual hunt for the missing mother,

little Samruddhi started smiling at us, the'Sairam wale'.
And father Jairam is able to sit and talk.

The other two kids were sent to their grandMa in their village.

This Nithya Narayan Seva is likely to continue
till Samruddhi is discharged (after one more surgery)

which is likely tobe a good two months away.

The press reports say that the amount needed for
Samruddhi's Prosthesis leg is around 30 lacs !

There are "take away" lessons here, one cant ignore.
About others we dont know, but certainly

'Destiny' is real hardcore 'Secular'.

It strikes at the appointed hour

without bias,treating all equally.

That Jayaram was poor was no consideration.

Neither if someone is filthy rich.
Next moment is unpredictable.Hence

as long as one can,one should engage in Sadhana,

share the divine love and serve all.

(Read Sai literature for more inputs)

"It is not enough if you acquire knowledge.

You should use it for the welfare of the society

in a proper way. You should take a vow to do good
to others in every possible way according to your
capacity" -Sri Sathya Sai Baba Pr.Nilayam 28.8.1996

Seva is Applied Spirituality.

Those interested in giving food packets
(for four caregivers in Sion hospital)

can call us up 9821482711 for pick up if near Chembur.

Those interested in helping little Samruddhi
can remit their amount directly

to the Sion hospital special account for the child

as announced by them officially as follows

"For direct wire transfer to bank of Sion Hospital--

The Municipal Coop Bank Ltd, LTMG Hospital, Sion branch

Sion Account no. 101180005823 IFSC MUBL 0000018

Account holders name : Dean LTMG Hospital "Poor Box Charity fund"

(For Samruddhi)"

Those who want to just provide moral support to the family
can join us during our daily morning / evening visits..

But all can PRAY for their quick recovery.

Jai Sairam

Why and how should one control one’s desires? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, May 22, 2014

Desires are a source of pleasure for man, but they are also the cause of grief. The mind has to be brought under control. Even thousands of men cannot hold back a fast-moving train. But the train comes to a stop the moment brake is applied. The same applies to the vagaries of the mind. When the mind is c...ontrolled, all sorrows cease. The Divine Atma, which dwells in the heart of every human being, is not recognized because it is covered by the clouds of desire. The splendour of the sun is revealed when a wind drives away the clouds that hide the sun. Likewise, when the wind of love blows away the clouds of desire in the heart, the ego (‘I’ ness) and possessiveness (sense of ‘mine’) are driven out and the effulgence of the Atma within is revealed in all its glory.

Radio Sai Special: HIS STORY – A Comic Series on the Life of Bhagawan

BRAND NEW CHAPTER 3: THE BLESSED MOTHERS

When the Perfect One decides to adorn a physical frame, He is born as the Embodiment of Perfection, and every act of His is a m...essage profound, and every event in His life is a chapter in Bhagawatham. Each episode from the childhood days of Bhagawan not only reveals His divinity, but also is a subtle lesson and a building block to the grand message that was to be His life. The Rig Veda declares, 'Atmano mokshartham jagat hitaya cha' - One's actions should lead to the unravelling of one's latent Divinity and at the same time benefit the society. Bhagawan embodied this dictum from His tender years. (Of course His was more the case of revealing than unraveling.)

Started on Aradhana Mahotsavam (24th April 2014), we are publishing a pictorial depiction of the birth and childhood of our sweet 'Sathyam' till the point He announced Himself as our beloved Bhagawan! We hope to run this series right up to the glorious 90th Birthday. We will be sharing a new chapter every fortnight, so look out for a fresh chapter of His Story on the 9th and 21st of every month till Bhagawan's 90th Birthday.

We have been blessed to have read and heard of all these stories, some of them from Bhagawan Himself. This is our humble endeavour to pass on this nectarous story to our children of the present and the future.

Read the third chapter – THE BLESSED MOTHERS here in our http://media.radiosai.org/journals/vol_12/01MAY14/HIS_STORY_COMIC-part-03.htm

For those who has missed the previous parts could read the first chapter – THE BIRTH here in our website: http://media.radiosai.org/journals/vol_12/01APR14/HIS_STORY_COMIC-part-01.htm

What should we give equal if not more importance to spiritual knowledge alongside secular learning? Bhagawan explains with an example.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, May 21, 2014

All human activ...ities must be undertaken with the sole aim of pleasing God. To attain such exalted heights, you must acquire true spiritual knowledge. Spiritual wisdom aids in subduing the senses. Ravana learnt 64 disciplines of education and was an expert in many fields. However he has been labeled foolish and ignorant. Why? He was a slave to the senses. Rama, though learnt only 32 disciplines, subdued His senses and hence is exalted even today. Learning from this, all educated people must realize that a truly knowledgeable person is one who gained control over their senses. People who accomplished this significant inner victory are excellent examples portraying clearly the element of devotion.

There is no strength more effective than purity, no bliss more satisfying than Love, no joy more restoring than Devotion, no triumph more praiseworthy than Surrender. – BABA.

Is it wrong to pursue physical comforts and pleasures? Are we to completely avoid such pursuits? Bhagawan clarifies today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Today 90% of our population i...s involved in sensual desires. These days, education also is mainly concerned with sensory pursuits. Most efforts are related to the attainment of sensual desires and almost all enjoyments are related to the senses. The acquisition of wealth also is for enjoying trivial sensual pleasures. Thus all efforts are directed to acquire pleasure of the body, the mind and the senses (Preyas). There is no doubt that there is a need for some concern about physical comforts. We must discharge our family responsibilities and serve the society, leveraging our human body. However this should not be the ultimate goal of life. Together with these, there must be a deeper yearning for a higher, qualitative spiritual life, Shreyas. When we yearn for Shreyas, even Preyas gets fulfilled.

A Tribute to Thy Sai Geeta

Published on 20 May 2014

Here I'm going to present a short clip on Sai Geeta and Her saga of immense love towards beloved Swami.

Spend a moment of stillness, a deep prayer from within, and a deep sigh...let this be our Heartfelt Tribute to our Dearest Little Princess...Sai Geeta...

Her 7th Death Anniversary is on 22nd May and this video represents some of those magical moments which she had spent with our Lord.

The epic Srimad Bhagavatham has a chapter on Gajendra Moksham, the story of elephant king Gajendra who chose to surrender calling out Lord Vishnu praying to save him from the clutches of a deadly crocodile that caught hold of him. No sooner did the Lord hear the sincere prayer that emanated from the Gajendra, relinquishing his ego, Lord Vishnu started off on His vehicle Garuda to reach out the devotee. Whatever be the metaphorical explanation to this story, it does carry one message that God does respond to sincere prayers suffused with dedication and surrender.

Here, in Sai Geeta's story, it was neither wail nor any distress call that made the Lord to come and spent such intimate moments with her. At the end of her life, she reached her ultimate destination, to The Real Master, Bhagawan Himself? She has come for Me, mentioned Bhagawan talking about Sai Geeta on one occasion.

Sai Gita leaves her footprints in the hearts of millions...We salute You... Oh! Little Princess, Sai Geeta!!!

....Jai Sai Ram...

What is the mistake that some of our youth are doing? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, May 19, 2014

A young woman today aspires to be a good wife but not an exemplary mother. A student today does not aspire to be an exemplary father, but an attractive husband. Adding to this woe, parents today encourage such education which promotes these aspirations. Youngsters also forget their responsibilitie...
s to be discharged as exemplary parents. A typical father in today’s society does not want his son, above all, to be a man of virtue. He wants him to be a man of great education. Those parents alone, who aspire for transforming their children to be men and women of virtue, are worthy. Worldly education alone should not be the goal of life. Virtues are the true backbone of life. Education must be for life, not merely for a living. To accomplish this, spiritual thoughts and spiritual path is highly essential.

It is natural for us to have desires. But how do we recognise those that take us away from our goal? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, May 18, 2014

All of you ...have two desires – Shreyas and Preyas. People are attracted by all kinds of objects in the world. People seek only those that will please the senses. Deriving pleasure from time to time through sense organs is described as Preyas. Preyas is not enduring, it is like a mirage. Sensuous pleasures are momentary and leave a trail of pain behind. However, from the learned to the illiterate, most people seek only such fleeting and unreal pleasures. Indulgence in sensual pleasures lead to bad practices and wrong conduct. You must graduate from Preyas to Shreyas. Shreyas means overcoming the demands of the senses and achieving spiritual bliss. All actions connected to the soul are related to Shreyas, while Preyas is related to the body.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 9, Feb 24, 2005.

You must cultivate your heart to raise a harvest of Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love. – BABA

When we see so much multiplicity around, how can we recognise the Unity? Bhagawan explains with a few examples.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, May 17, 2014

When you offer salutations to someone, understand that you are saluting your own self. That ‘someone’ is none other than your own reflection. See others just as you see your own reflection in the mirror. When you are surrounded by many mirrors, you see a number of reflections. Reflections are many but the person is one. Reactions, reflections, and resounds are many but the reality is one. Names and forms may be different, but all beings are part and parcel of the same Divine Principle. Divinity is the underlying principle in the apparent multiplicity of this world. When I am speaking here, My voice is heard through each and every loudspeaker in this hall. In the same manner there exists the principle of unity in our hearts which we have to recognise.

- Divine Discourse, May 13, 2006.

It is only purity that attracts Divinity. If the iron filings are rusted, even the most powerful magnet will not attract them.-BABA.

What is one of the principal teaching of The Buddha? Bhagawan gently and firmly reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, May 15, 2014

Buddha taught that we should not have anger, not find others’ faults, and also not harm others, because all are the embodiments of the pure and eternal principle of the Atma. Have compassion towards the poor and help them to the extent possible. You think those who do not have food to eat are... poor people. You cannot call someone poor just because they do not have money or food to eat. Truly speaking, nobody is poor. All are rich, not poor. Those whom you consider as poor may not have money, but all are endowed with the wealth of a loving heart (hridaya). Understand and respect this underlying principle of unity and Divinity in all, and experience bliss. Do not have narrow considerations like ‘these are my friends, they are my enemies, those are my relations’ and so on. All are one, be alike to everyone. This is the most important teaching of Buddha.

- Divine Discourse, May 13, 2006.

All are One, Be alike to everyone. – BABA.

Two speeches and a drama presentation marked the second and final evening of Buddha Purnima 2014 celebrations herein Prasanthi Nilayam today....

In the evening, the proceedings began with an introductory talk by Dr V K Raveendran, Chairman Zone 4 of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations - Worldwide.

BUDDHA PURNIMA 2014: NEWS FROM PUTTAPARTHI

BUDDHA PURNIMA 2014:

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family

As almost the whole India will be seated before television sets, on May 16th, to know the next Prime Minister of the world's largest democracy, watching the counting process to the recently completed general elections, bearing the scorching sun and loads of work back home devotees from Far East (Zone 4 & 5) have come to the Abode of our lord to celebrate Budha Purnima, the auspicious Full Moon marking the birth, Enlightenment (Nirvana) and death (Pari nirvana) of Gautam Buddha who came on this earth some 2500 years ago to teach us the real meaning of " Nirvana" by shedding all the physical comforts and belongings.

This is the day when devotees come to celebrate the holy full moon dedicated to Buddha. Even though the number of devotees were not be so big but this is the time when the " real" devoted devotees show their gratitude to Swami and come to Puttaparthi to seek His blessings. Post Mahasamadhi, there are so many who have excuses like " financial crisis", job hopping, Children marriages and so on for not making a pilgrimage to Puttaparthi but the fact of the fact is at leat 90% of them would have come to Puttaparthi(at any cost) to see the " Form" had Swami were around " physically".

Even before the two day programme had an official start, the Buddha Purnima 2014 had a enthusiastic start in the form of a beautiful " bi-lingual" talk by Prof.Anil Kumar. Speaking eloquently in English and Telugu, Prof. Anil Kumar in that 40 minutes or so, did an excellent job by comparing the teachings, messages of Buddha and Baba and drew similarities which was enjoyed by the English and Non- English speaking devotees assembled in Sai Kulwanth hall. He also hailed the great work done by devotees in these countries which built 108 water tanks, ultra modern medical care to the elderly and also the Education in Human values programmes through various Sathya Sai Schools in these countries.

The video of this talk can be watched in this link on YOUTUBE and Prof.Anil Kumar's talk starts at 11 minutes: 40 secs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWvVV8hLB-8

As the talk is in English and Telugu, I have tried my best to separate English and Telugu so that Non- Telugu speaking devotees would enjoy the satsang with no interruptions and vice versa

The second day programme started off with a beautiful talk by Dr. Ravindran who shared the story of great emperor of India, Ashoka who got inspired by Buddhism and tried his best to spread the message of Buddha. He later introduced the two speakers of the evening.

The first speaker was Mr. Praneeth, from Sri lanka a singhalese by birth and a staunch devotee of Buddha and Baba. He thanked Swami for giving this rare opportunity to speak on such an auspicious day. He spoke in length on Buddha's teachings. He reminded all that our thoughts need to be pure.. Buddha won hearts of kings and also the down trodden.

Money earned by un ethical means will only end in distress. Concentration doesn't not become meditation and one has to go beyond concentration which is true meditation. He said both Buddha and Baba's teachings are one and the same.

The Next speaker was Brother Billy Fong who is a very active member of Sai Movement in malaysia. He is also incharge of Chinese new year celebrations and has been working very closely with Dr. Ravindran

Brother Billy Fong highlighted the exemplary life of Buddha who gave up His kingdom to attain Nirvana the ultimate goal of life. In spite of no technologically advanced gadgets during the days of Buddha, he said Buddhism is practiced by one billion around the world.

He shared an incident where the President of Prasanthi Council Dr. Narendranath Reddy's father once asked Swami as how Swami is always energetic, is it because He was drawing energy from the five elements, Swami said, NO.. the five elements are deriving energy from Me.

Brother Billy Fong also highlighted the contents of an article written by Sri.Indulal shah where he mentions about the Five visions for the Sathya Sai Organisation.

Vision 1. Every organisation must be recognized by the respective governments and people for the activities done by the organisation

vision 2: Every Sai Organisation in their respective countries should be recognised as promoters of inter-racial and inter religious harmony in the society.

Vision 3: Sathya Sai Organisation must become treasure house and a beacon of light for promoting human values inherent in all religions and become most important resource center in spreading value based education

Vision 4: Sathya Sai Organisation in every country must become a resource center in promoting value and spiritual based education to every part of the globe

Vision 5: By effective leadership and strong collaboration grow leaps and bounds to become an international body capable of responding to any global crisis to come to the rescue of the poor, sick and the needy

This was followed by devotees both ladies and gents singing some beautiful bhajans taking turns as arathi was offered around 6:45pm along with prasadam to every one.

MAY 15TH 2014:

The evening's programme started off with talks by two monks from Tibetan Monastery. The senior monk spoke in length about the life history of Gautam Buddha while his disciple translated into English.

This was followed by a beautiful drama on this year's theme of Buddha Purnima " The Master Live On". With just 9 artists in the drama, the boys did a fantastic job in bringing the message of Omnipresence and Omnipotence of Bhagawan Baba beautifully comparing the life of Buddha. It was a short, simple and emotionally packed drama with a profound message reiterating the fact that Baba is NOW HERE and has gone NOWHERE..

May Swami bless all those devotees who came to the holy abode, which speaks high of their love and devotion for Swami.. May Swami bless us all to be His worthy instruments..

Even though we might have few programmes in between, Puttaparthi will be little quiet until the next major festival which will be Ashadi Ekadasi festival from July 5th to 9th followed by Gurupurnima.

DEVOTEES WHO NEED PROF.ANIL KUMAR'S VIDEOS:

There are so many devotees who are asking for videos of Prof.Anil Kumar for their study circles, play it in the centers and also for individual viewing.. All of Prof.Anil Kumar's talks are available on YOUTUBE but understanding the constraints in downloading due to data limit, slow or no internet connection, these videos will be provided to any one who needs them for GRATIS. All that you have to do is when ever you are coming to Puttaparthi or if any family member or Sai Center member is coming to Puttaparthi do bring an External Hard disc (at least 1 TB (1000 GB) size) and i will copy all the videos into the hard disc. On the auspicious day of Buddha Purnima, what is the significant lesson that we must learn and imbibe from the life of The Buddha? Bhagawan explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Buddha experienced the unity of all creation. There was total transformation in Him once He attained the vision of ekatma (oneness of the atma). He realised that all worldly relations were false. He transcended body consciousne...ss. That is why he earned the appellation Buddha (the enlightened one). Man should use his buddhi (intellect) to understand this principle of unity. Buddhi is of two types: the buddhi that sees diversity in unity is worldly intelligence. You should develop adhyatmic buddhi (spiritual intelligence) in order to realise the underlying unity of all creation. It gives you the experience of the atmic principle which is the same in the entire creation. Buddha attained the vision of the atma. Truly speaking, Buddha is not just one individual. All of you are Buddhas. You will see unity everywhere once you understand this truth.

“Saisha Sharanam Gachhami” - A special Radiosai timeline cover on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Poornima!

The day of Vaisakh Poornima, which usually falls in the month of May, is considered most sacred by Buddhists all over the world. This day is significant for three reasons. It was on this day that Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, was born as Prince Siddhartha at Lumbini in Nepal in 560 B.C. It is also the day when He attained enlightenment at Gaya in India, af...ter years of search and enquiry into the causes and remedy for sorrow in the world. Thereafter, Siddhartha came to be known as Buddha, or the ‘Enlightened One’. He preached that desires are at the root of all sorrow and hence advocated the path of right conduct and the right use of senses as the way to enlightenment.

He attained Nirvana (Unity with the Absolute) in 480 B.C., again on the day of Vaisakh Purnima. This auspicious day is observed as Buddha Poornima with reverence and piety by believers in the Far East countries and in Sri Lanka and India as well.

Our Lord Saisha also taught us many things from Buddha’s life. One of the important aspects from them is ‘Nirvana’.

“What is Nirvana? Today man aspires to attain Mukthi (liberation). What is Mukthi? It is not the attainment of a heavenly abode. Mukthi means freedom from suffering. You need to have Mukthi at three levels – body, mind and soul. For example, you are hungry. When you eat food, your hunger is satiated. This is a kind of Mukthi. Say, you are suffering from a disease. You take medicine and get cured. This is also Mukthi. All this is related to the body. At the mental level, Mukthi means controlling the vagaries of the mind. But true liberation lies in understanding the principle of the Atma which neither comes nor goes. This is termed as Nirvana.

One should have Daiva Preethi, Papa Bheethi and Sangha Neethi (Love for God, fear of sin and morality in society). That is true Nirvana. Be away from sin. Understand that Daiva Sannidhi (proximity to the Divine) is true Pennidhi (wealth). But ignorant people are unable to understand the Divine principle. They feel that they can experience God through meditation. What is meditation? It is a way of life. While you are walking on the road or driving a car, if your vision is not focused on the road, you may meet with an accident. Concentration is necessary in all aspects of life. But concentration does not become meditation. One should go beyond concentration which means the mind should become still. You should be free from thoughts. That is true meditation.”

- Divine Discourse: May 7, 2001

Feel free to make this your timeline cover and also share it with all and join this holy event with us. Try to learn the wonderful way of living from Buddha’s teaching and analyse them to develop your inner love for all the beings. Destroy your inner ignorance and enlighten yourself with the light of wisdom. Make your life smooth and easy by following the footsteps of our Lord Saisha and follow the supreme path of eternal truth in every aspect of your life.

What should we do to become the best we can be? Bhagawan beautifully explains to us today with a practical example.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, May 13, 2014

When a machine can get rusted without proper use and neglect, will not the human body and mind get rusted if it is not well maintained? Where does the rust come from? Dust accumulates on the machine when it is not used. Then over time the dust gets converted into rust. Due to... this rust, the machine loses all its efficiency and productivity. It then needs to be repaired and is so taken to the workshop. There, it is overhauled and then it returns to its best and becomes fully productive. What should you do to become the best you can be? You must remove the rust and dust in you! The rust and dust are the evil intentions and your wavering mind. Submit your body and mind to the Lord, and keep them in good working condition at all times. You will then become the best.

- My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 4, June 21, 1989.

The easiest and most fruitful method of keeping yourself free from dust and rust is good company (Satsang).-BABA.

How do we find the right answers on appropriate and inappropriate actions in our daily life? Bhagawan gently reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, May 12, 2014

The world is a mixture of good and bad, of right and wrong, joy and sorrow, victory and defeat. In a world replete with such opposites, you must constantly make the choice between what is right and proper, and what is wrong and undesirable. You must not let yoursel...f be guided by the mind. You must follow the directions of the intelligence. As long as you follow the mind, you cannot attain the Divine. Youth often tend to go by the inclinations of the mind, neglecting their intelligence and consequently are subject to agitations and frustrations. Discrimination is a big help to avoid such situations. Ask yourself “I am a human being; how must I conduct myself in this situation such as to win the respect and regard of others?” and act in accordance. You will certainly find the right answers on what you should do and where you should go. Humility and discrimination are the indexes of an educated person.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 10, Jan 16, 1988.

Education must promote discrimination and humility. - BABA

Why is it important to lead a disciplined and duty conscious life? Bhagawan lovingly guides us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, May 11, 2014

Say you are expecting a train, a public transport that is supposed to arrive at 5 o’ clock. It is delayed by a few hours and doesn’t turn up until 8 or 9 p.m. How would you feel then? You first start to complain that the schedules of the trains and buses have no discipline and they don’t turn up on time. Then you start abusing the driver, the department, the government, and talk about it for a couple of days. When you complain so much about a delayed train or a bus which has no life, do you expect the world not abuse you, a conscious individual, when you do not adhere to your discipline, code of conduct and duty? All of you must understand the value of discipline and adhere to it consistently, and pass the test of discipline.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, May 10, 2014

Dedication means offering to the Divine. When you offer flowers to God along with your salutation, it symbolizes offering of the flower of your heart. The flower of the heart is usually subjected to infestation by two evil creatures; they are Ego (Ahamkar) and Jealousy (Asuya). Ego is hard to conquer an...d arises from seven factors – Wealth, Physical Prowess, Birth, Scholarship, Beauty, Power and Penance. As long as Ahamkara is predominant, it is impossible to recognize the Divinity within. Ego is a great barrier between the individual and God, and must be totally demolished. All forms of pride (particularly that of wealth, scholarship and power) cause human failings and downfall, and hence must be given up totally. Only when egoistic pride is offered as a sacrifice at the altar of the Divine, you can discover your true divine nature.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 9, Feb 24, 2005.

You must cultivate your heart to raise a harvest of Truth, Righteousness, Peace and Love. – BABA

Why should we prioritize acquiring common sense and general knowledge during our education and not focus merely on passing exams alone? Bhagawan explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, May... 9, 2014

The bookish knowledge that many feverishly acquire is relevant only for the day of the exam. As you enter your professions armed with this knowledge, you will soon discover that you only have superficial knowledge on any subject and your general knowledge is almost zero. Without general knowledge and practical wisdom, you cannot discriminate. World today needs practical knowledge. Water is formed from two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen. You can prove this in the laboratory. But when you sit for lunch, do you mix two parts of hydrogen and one part of oxygen to drink water? By sipping just a drop, you can even comment on the purity of the water and its taste. Thus discrimination and general knowledge is very essential to make sure your daily life and behavior does not have any lapses. You must experience the enjoyable life in the right way at the right time.

- My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 4, June 21, 1989.

The one who discriminates well before engaging in any activity will naturally be righteous in conduct and behavior. - Baba.

What more do we need to experience Divinity? Bhagawan beautifully explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, May 7, 2014

God has gifted to every one of you the expensive and precious h...eart. It is enough if there is even a little bit of pure, untainted eternal and selfless love in your heart. If you have the slightest gratitude for having the gift of life it is sufficient to redeem your life. Hearts devoid of love and gratitude are indeed barren. Aspire to cultivate this valuable and precious gift of the heart. Many pray, “Oh God, give me the energy and capability to experience Divinity and live in accordance with your command”. You pray, thinking that you do not have that strength. This is incorrect. Each and every one of you are already bestowed with that strength! You do not need anything more. You are unable to appreciate it because your vision is not focused on that. You must search and enquire within you as to what your aspirations and goals are. Then sincerely work towards experiencing it.

- My Dear Students, Vol 3,Ch 4, June 21, 1989.

There is no strength more effective than Purity, no bliss more satisfying than Love, no joy more restoring than Devotion, no triumph more praiseworthy than Surrender. – BABA.

EASWARAMMA DAY CELEBRATION
Prasanthi Nilayam, 6th May 2014

May 6th every year, is celebrated as Easwaramma Day, commemorating the Anniversary of the passing away of the One who was blessed to be mother to the Avatar. It is a saga of eternal love for mankind and a true example of selfless sacrifice. The bond between Swami and Easwaramma was eternal and not comparab...le with any other relationship. No doubt the crown of motherhood was acquired by Easwaramma as a reward for her accumulated goodness but in this life too she rose to those heights which made a laudable example of a great devotee of the Lord. Her love for him was unparalleled and as well as being an ideal wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, she was a constant source of support, inspiration and love for the village folk and the ever-expanding Sai family.

The Lord chose her as his Mother not only as a reward for her past deeds but also, as Prof. Kasturi noted, “in appreciation of what she was capable of in this life.” And with the Supreme Teacher to guide her, she learned every lesson Swami gave her with his glance, a word, a question, or a smile, and became a living saint radiating love and purity. Ultimately, the great soul we know as Easwaramma reached a state where she took every event and emotion, every thought and activity as a gem set doorway through which she could recognize the One.

Bhagawan reminds us today of the value of a virtuous mother through the example of one such noble mother.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, May 6, 2014

Abraham Lincoln learnt to speak truth and conduct himself with sel...f-respect and dignity, unafraid of his financial position, from the lap of his mother. When little Abraham shared with his mother that he was disrespected and felt ashamed in the midst of his friends for wearing old and shabby clothes, she told him that he need not feel so. She counselled him that poverty, though viewed in poor light by others, will eventually help him gain respect. Lincoln later in his life declared, “You may disrespect me, but truth cannot be disrespected. It will emerge triumphant!” He proceeded on the path of truth and self-confidence taught by his mother and became the President of the United States of America. In fact, anyone who has the blessing of their mother will emerge very successful.

-My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 9, Feb 24, 2005.

You must give your mother the same love and share her spirit of sacrifice with which she raised you. – BABA.

REMEMBERING THE BLESSED MOTHER: MOTHER EASWARAMMA

Today we are celebrating Easwaramma Day to propagate the glory of motherhood. The world is sustained by the prayers of mothers. A woman's prayer is more powerful than a thousand prayers of men because women are pure and tender-hearted. Never cause displeasure to your mother. Never hurt her feelings. Then God will help you in all your endeavors. One calls one's country motherland and not fatherland. Thus, mother is given an exalted position in the world. Consider your country as your own mother and work for its progress. Under any circumstances, do not cause any harm to your mother and motherland. This is the significance and main teaching of today's celebration. (Divine Discourse 2002)

!! OM SAIRAM !!

It is your foremost duty to love your mother. As soon as you wake up in the morning, the first thing you should do is to touch your mother's feet and offer your salutations. Such a noble practice will protect you always and bestow on you all types of wealth. You are going to be fathers and mothers in future. You will be loved and respected by your children only when you love and respect your parents now. You are bound to face the reaction, resound and reflection of your actions. When you respect your parents, there will be rich rewards for you in the future”.

May 6th every year, is celebrated as Easwaramma Day, commemorating the anniversary of the passing away of the saintly lady who was blessed to be mother to the Avatar of the Kali age. Bhagawan exhorts His devotees, especially children, to revere the mother as God. Hence, this day is a celebration of the sacred ideal of Motherhood. Easwaramma was very fond of children and was one of the pioneers of the Bal Vikas movement. Hence, this day is also celebrated as Bal Vikas Day when hundreds of Bal Vikas gather in Bhagawan’s presence to present before Him their cultural programmes and imbibe the highest spiritual lessons from their Divine Mother. Narayana Seva (feeding of the poor) is also undertaken on this day.

MUSICAL TRIBUTE AT THE LOTUS FEET OF BHAGAWAN - WITH RAVIRAJ NASERY & GROUP - BY SRI SATHYA SAI SEVA ORGANISATION DELHI NCR

IT IS DELHI, AFTER MUMBAI !
Prasanthi Nilayam, 5th May 2014

After Mumbai, it was the turn of Delhi to celebrate the Ascension through a Musical Concert. Presenting an evening of devotional music and attended by the elite in the capital, Ravi Nasery, the acclaimed Ghazal and Bhajan singer, mesmerised the audience at the Sri Sathya Sai International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on 4th May, 2014.

Arranged by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization Delhi NCR ,the function was organised to commemorate the third anniversary of the Mahasamadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Sh. Raviraj Nasery started the concert with a melodious Ganesh Bhajan, which he followed with the soulful Guru Bhajan ‘Sakshaat Parabramha Sai’. Sh. Nasery continued with several very popular Sai Bhajans including a number of own devotional compositions including ‘Tera Naam Ek Sahaara’. On requests of the audience he sang a composition dedicated to Baba's Mahasamadhi. Since the audience included several prominent devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba, Sh. Raviraj sang the popular Shirdi Sai Bhajan– ‘Mukh Dharshan’.

Sh. Nasery’s music, interspersed with narrations of his soul stirring, personal experiences with Sri Sathya Sai Baba made the evening most poignant. The performance reached its crescendo when he sang ‘Prem Mudit Mana Se Kaho’ a bhajan that was particularly dear to Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba that He often sang at the end of His discourses.

The evening concluded with offering of the Mangala Aarthi.

ANANTAPUR WATER PROJECT - COLLECTION OF USER FEES
Prasanthi Nilayam, 30th April 2014

Reports have appeared in a section of the Press implying that the Sathya Sai Trust have issued orders to collect Rs. 33 Crores as user fees from the consumers in the completed water project supplying water for 731 villages. The above report is totally incorrect, untrue and completely contrary to facts.

Sr...i Sathya Sai Central Trust had executed a drinking water project in the year 1995 for provision of drinking water to 731 villages in Anantapur District.

The water project, after successful supply of water to the villages, was handed over to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Govt. in turn, constituted the Sri Sathya Sai Water Supply Board for Anantapur with District Collector as Chairman, Superintendent Engineer, Rural Water Supply as Member Secretary and many other officials of District, as members. The Board is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the drinking water projects in the district. The expenditure for the maintenance of the project will have to be borne in the ratio of 70:30 by the Government and Panchayats. Government may get a grant from Government of India and Panchayats may collect user charges from the users in the villages.

Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust neither collected any charges from the users or Panchayats or Governments so far, nor have they intention to collect in future. In fact, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust is presently executing another water supply project costing about Rs. 80 Crores to supply drinking water to another 118 habitations in Anantapur district which will also be handed over to Government after ensuring successful continuous supply to the villages. And for this project also no fee or cost will be collected by the Sathya Sai Central Trust.

Any contrary report published by any newspaper or individual will be considered mischievous and malicious.

EASWARAMMA – THE CROWN OF MOTHERHOOD

"Easwaramma was the chosen one. I chose her to be My mother. That is the intimate relationship between Mother Easwaramma and Myself." That was the emphatic declaration of Bhagawan on the most auspicious Easwaramma Day, the 6th of May, 2001. In no uncertain terms Swami communicated how lofty, grand and glorious is the stature of Mother Easwaramma. The thronging crowd in Sai Ramesh Hall exploded into loud applause that evening as they heard these Divine words from Bhagawan.

Easwaramma - Mother Divine

Mother Easwaramma, truly, was a divine effulgence which graced mother Earth with a sacred mission and purpose by the inscrutable will of the Divine just like Kaushalya, (Mother of Sri Rama), Devaki (Mother of Sri Krishna) or Mary (Christ’s Mother). She underwent similar agonies and ecstasies, fears and dilemmas, trials and triumphs, and ultimately bliss and beatitude that the Divine Mothers of yore passed through. Like Krishna, Swami was the eighth child of Mother Easwaramma and the turbulent times she went through before he took birth were akin to what Devaki experienced before Krishna graced her lap. None of Mother Devaki’s previous seven children could escape from the heinous designs of the demon Kamsa. Easwaramma too suffered at the hands of cruel fate. She had four miscarriages in a row before the Light of the World descended as her Son.

A Loving Mother for All

The genuine love that Mother Easwaramma had for devotees was something very laudable. She spoke sweetly at all times, her speech emanating patience and forbearance and fully free from pretense with no sharp edges to hurt the hearer. During the time Swami was still at the village Mandir, there were many women apparently “possessed” by spirits who were brought to his presence by distraught relatives. The unfortunates screamed, sulked, moaned, and ran helter-skelter. Sometimes their condition had been aggravated by quacks who had treated them with the rod. Easwaramma offered the soothing balm of sympathy to the victims and a few minutes with her was an effective tranquillizer which calmed their explosive emotions. Whenever people called her Mother, it was with quivering lips and tears glistening in their eyes.

Every Easwaramma Day Is A Children’s Day

May 6th is also celebrated as Children’s Day in all Sai Organizations throughout the country. Bal Vikas groups in every Sai Center perform songs, dances, and value games glorifying God and expressing their gratitude to the blessed Mother for having gifted them with the most precious possession of their lives, their Swami. In the divine presence too every year small children perform various plays and Swami lovingly showers them with gifts and love after their presentation.

Radio Sai ~ God's own Radio Station

With the Divine Blessings of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Radio Sai went on air for the first time on November 23, 2001. It was inaugurated by Bhagawan Baba as a channel of the World Space Satellite Radio service. Radio Sai has over the years grown into an Internet Radio streaming service offering six different, 24/7 streams - Asia, Afri, Ameri, Telugu, Discour...se and Bhajan Stream.

Asia, Afri, Ameri streams offer programmes specific to the time zones of the three continents (Asia, Africa and America respectively). The Bhajan Stream plays bhajans 24 hours a day, while the Discourse Stream is a 24 hour channel that offers the many discourses delivered by Baba over the years.

The newest channel added to the service in June 2011 is the Telugu Stream which offers programmes in Telugu, which is the native language of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, where Bhagawan Baba made His advent. It is also the language in which Baba delivered almost all His talks.

Radio Sai’s e-Journal and other services

Apart from the above mentioned internet radio streams, Radio Sai offers through the website radiosai.org, Radio Sai’s official e-journal “Heart2Heart”. This journal started as a fortnightly publication and later was expanded and made into a monthly magazine. However from 2009, it was converted into a dynamic e-journal updated at least 3-4 times a week.

Now, on radiosai.org you will find insightful articles, inspiring stories, interviews with devotees, photo galleries, quizzes and the various videos produced by Radio Sai. You can also read the ‘Sai Inspires’, the thought for the day from Prasanthi Nilayam or subscribe and receive the daily Sai Inspires and other updates from Radio Sai through e-mail. Since Bhagawan’s 86th Birthday (23 Nov 2011) the Radio Sai team has started the live video streaming of all programmes that take place in the Sai Kulwant Hall. This is indeed great opportunity for the devotees to witness Live proceeding of various programs and festivals direct from Prasanthi Nilayam from their own place.

Bhagawan Baba is the Divine Teacher, who has come to instruct us all on the eternal and universal principles which are common to all religions, countries and communities. We at Radio Sai consider ourselves as one of the many humble instruments in His divine hands.
