Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandra Babu Naidu's Visit to Prasanthj Nilayam on 24.07.2014 @ 11.10 a.m

How should we purify our mind and remove or reduce negativities within us? Bhagawan sweetly and lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, July 24, 2014

The moment a bad thoug...ht comes, you must teach your mind, “Oh mind, are you on the path of human values or on the path of an animal? This thought is an animal thought – you are not an animal.” Train your mind saying, “Oh mind, human beings are not meant to eat, sleep and enjoy pleasures. Shed all animal qualities, give up previous habits and old ways. You must get away from all evil”. If you thus teach your mind, its speed will be lessened and the flow of thoughts will change. You must consistently teach your mind to transform your thoughts. There will be difficulties in the process. But let them come – the one who works hard and passes through these hardships will enjoy abundant peace. Without effort, there cannot be gain or pleasure. Hence don’t worry about difficulties.

- My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 2, March 9, 1993.

To purify your mind, starve it from the bad food of objective pleasures that it runs after, and feed it on the wholesome food of thoughts of God.-BABA.

Sri. Chandrababu Naidu to visit Puttaparthi on 24th July 2014

Om Sairam dearest Sai family

Ever since the recently concuded general elections and after the BJP government came into power, Puttaparthi is witnessing a "high profile VVIP visit for the first time" in the form of Sri. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, the present chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and also an ardent devotee of Bhagawan Baba and Lord Venkateswara of Tirupathi on July 24th 2014.

Sri. Chandrababu Naidu who is also the president of Telugu Desam Party is the Chief minister for third time and has been to Puttaparthi on various occasions right from the days of Sri.Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Prime Minister.

The helicopter of the Chief Minister will arrive at 10am in Swami's airport.

Barricades being put on either sides of the road for Chief minister's visit.

At 10:25am he will reach Sai Kulwanth hall and offer prayers to Swami at Mahasamadhi
Later he will have a brief meeting with the available Members of the Trust and other officials of the ashram.

Later he will visit the meeting of " Self help" group consisting of women in the outskirts of Puttaparthi.

He will later leave for a town called Kadiri around 2:20pm attending and addressing people at various places. He will then leave for Hyderabad on July 25th by helicopter from a place called "Mudigubba".

The local MLA of Puttaparthi Mr.P.Raghunath Reddy is also the minister of IT and the people of Puttaparthi are hopeful of some positive announcements which would pave way for employment generation to Puttaparthians and surrounding villages.

NO TRACE OF RAIN:

On a different note, the monsoon gave a "big thumps down" to the farming community as we didn't have even one good rain this year and the farmers in and around Puttaparthi area, who bank heavily on peanut crop are already delayed by a month from sowing the seeds. The same is the case with almost 60% of India. People are doing all sorts of yagnas, yagas but Lord Indra is taking His time. In villages where superstitions are rampant, every day you read reports in the local news papers where the villagers marry two frogs which they think will "please"rain Gods.

On a serious note, who ever is reading this email, please do a small prayer to Swami to bless the farming community with good rains as they are the one's who are providing us with food..

With pranams at the Lotus feet of our beloved Lord,

R.Satish Naik

In this photo Sri.Narachandra Babu Naidu is seen with Swami during the Sri Sathya Sai Unity cup held in the Hill view stadium. Seen to Swami's right is Mr.Sunil Gavaskar, the living legend of Indian cricket and to Swami's left (with the white beard) is the late Prime minister of India Sri.I.K.Gujral

He also attended in one of the convocations along with the then minister Sri.Murali Manohar Joshi. Below is the picture taken during that occasion.

PRAY TO MOTHER ESWARAMMA FOR QUICK RESPONSE:

During my morning walk, i bumped into this coconut vendor, standing infront of Smt.Eswaramma School, after removing his shoes i saw him offering prayers to Mother Eswaramma statue (not seen in the picture) to bless him with a good business that day. I was curious and went up to him and asked whom was he praying to. With no hesitation he said to Mother E...swaramma. I asked why not Lord Ganesha or Swami, why Her? With a smile on his face and probably understanding my "confusion" he said you also practice my "technique". I said what technique? If you pray to Mother Eswaramma she will go and "refer" our name to Swami and Swami will never say NO to His mother and our prayers will be answered very quickly.. I really liked the innocence and profound devotion in this man.. This man, even after selling all the coconuts in his cart may make a mere 200 rupees or so but he seemed to be very content which is absolutely His grace and nothing else...

One can "never" win God's grace by dropping bundles of currency notes into the donation boxes of temples nor by paying thousands to the priests/astrologers to do some prayer or ritual on their behalf.

Swami will be more than happy to help to those whose prayers that come from heart with no trace of "I" ness..

Why do we sometimes fight? Who or what is responsible for it? What should we do about it? Bhagawan sweetly and lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, July 23, 2014

Even animals react based on your feelings. As is the feeling so is the reaction. Every being goes by these three: reaction, reflection and resound. It is only the evil tendencies, the bad feelings amongst human beings which cause wild reaction from animals. Two sons born in the same family constantly fight. What is the reason for hatred? Their own minds are responsible for their temperament. Never have bad temperament. You must always cultivate and develop noble feelings. All of you have good upbringing, good family and good education. You must upkeep the name, honour and reputation of your family and the University you studied. To earn a good name, you must have good friendship. “Tell me who your friends are, I shall tell you who you are” is a famous quote. As is the company, so you are. Therefore always seek and keep good company – it is your good fortune to have and be in good company.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 14, 22 Aug 2007.

Make friends after proper enquiry. Love all, hate none. But in your heart, keep good people only.-BABA.

What is the basis of all creation? Why and when do sages and Avatars descend on earth?

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, July 22, 2014

God alone possesses the strength to create anything and everything, both permanent and impermanent. God is all knowing and omnipresent. He created this world with His Divine Will (Sankalpa). God is the basis of all creation. Gold is the basis of jewellery; if there is no gold, then there is no jewel. Clay is the basis of the pot; if there is no clay, then there is no creation. Similarly, if there is no God, then there is no creation. God is omnipresent, omnipotent and omnipresent. Everything around us is Divine. People, in their ignorance, forget this Divine Principle (Atma). In order to jostle human beings from their deep slumber of ignorance and greed, great sages and Divine Incarnations descend on earth. Whenever ego and pride becomes second nature of human beings and ignorance reigns supreme, moreover when demonic nature of human beings are at peak, Divine Incarnations (Avatars) descend on earth to restore righteousness to its pristine glory.

- My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 1, Dec 25, 1980.

God's love descends equally on all people. A fragrant flower retains its fragrance whether you hold in the right hand or the left.-BABA.

Why is the present moment ‘golden’? What should we let go? Bhagawan gently reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, July 21, 2014

Everyone is very interested about their future. What is fut...ure? It is based on the past. Don’t brood over the past and don’t worry about the future. Past is past. What is the use in thinking about it or worrying about something that is dead and gone? Just forget it! Present is very important. Live in the moment and follow the present. Often many think of the past or of the future and ruin the present. Many times you feel you were happy in the past and are unhappy now. To what extent were you happy then? Has your attitude changed since the past? Has the dirtiness in your mind been cleansed? Believe that you are happy now; you have sufficiency in everything. Your mind is right now blessed. You must always “Help Ever and Hurt Never”. Bhagawan wants you to appreciate the importance of the “present” and work for your progress, living in the present, living in the moment.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 14, 22 Aug 2007.

Only if you act righteously in the present, can the future be good and ennobling. - BABA

What is the most significant period in one’s life? What should we focus on during our entire life? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, July 20, 2014

Just as the cultivation season is the most important time for the farmer, the youth is the most important time in the life of a student. The farmer waits for the opportune moment to sow his seeds so that he can reap rich harvest. Time is a very critical... element for the success of the crop. During the cultivation season, the farmer does not care about food, water or sleep, and works hard with his entire focus on achieving a good harvest. He believes that a good crop is the only source of all happiness. So too, for the student (Vidhyarthi), the period of their education is like the cultivation season. It is the most important time and is the very basis of their lives. They must dedicate all their time, without worrying even about hunger, thirst and sleep, or loss and gain and must only focus on building their good character and gaining full and complete knowledge.

-My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 1, Dec 25, 1980.

Habits mould character and character decides one’s destiny. – BABA

Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas Tamilnadu

The Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Program has been founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to enable a world-wide renewal of individual commitment to an active moral life. Bhagawan Baba says: "You must study to... become steady. See to it that the Divine Love in your heart is steady. The goal of education should not be to just acquire theoretical knowledge but to practically apply it in your life. Birds and animals lead life without ‘studying’, but your education must result in you developing a strong and good character."

Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas has thus been initiated and founded by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, based on the Divine Dictum “The End of Education is character”

Balvikas means blossoming of Human Excellence. Human values can neither be imbibed through textbooks nor can they be gifted by anyone. They are inherent within each individual and the Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas program provides the right environment for these latent human values to blossom and empowers each child to unfold the innate values within oneself to the highest perfection.

Since the focus is on bringing an intrinsic transformation within each child. The Bal Vikas classes are conducted as a part of the Global Mission of the Sri Sathya Sai Organisations to direct the children of today – the torch bearers of tomorrow’s society, into the path of self-enquiry and self-discovery.

With this conviction the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Program has been designed to help children to practice the basic human values, namely, Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi and Ahimsa. Through the judicious use of simple teaching techniques such as: Prayer, Group Singing, Meditation, Story Telling and Group Activities, the Balvikas Gurus encourage the children to become conscious about the latent potential within and orient their lives on the trajectory of human excellence. This in short is the sum and substance of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas Program. Please visit the link to view the website ......

What’s in a Name? What is our true name? Bhagawan lovingly answers these questions for us in His own inimitable style.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, July 19, 2014

Bodies are different and names are different, but the indweller or the Self that is present in everyone is one and the same. When you want to call someone, you call him or her by their name. Each one of you has an unique name only for identity purposes; it should not be ...considered more significant than that. Lord Krishna declared clearly in the Bhagavad Gita that you are the embodiment of the Lord. Do not limit yourself as a mere human being. Let anyone call you by any name. The real truth is, the Self-same Lord is present in you and in everyone. God dwells everywhere (Ishavasyam Idam Sarvam) and in everyone. Hence remember! You do not merely represent the name that you are given, but are truly Divine - “I am I” is your real name! God dwells in all of you (Ishwarah Sarva Bhoothanam). Hence practice the principle, “All are One, Be alike to everyone.”

-My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 13, June 7, 2007.

Be humble, be calm, be tolerant. Co-operate with all and treat everyone with courtesy and kindness. - BABA.

CONFERENCE ON ADVANCES IN ARTHROSCOPY
Prasanthi Nilayam, 18th July 2014

A three day conference on advances in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine organized by the department of Orthopaedics of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences, Prasanthigram was inaugurated today.
...
This conference is being attended by eminent Orthopaedic surgeons from India and abroad. The conference will focus on management of sports and related injuries of upper and lower limbs, to address and discuss preventive and rehabilitative measures in sports and related injuries and to inculcate the principles of Sai Ideal Healthcare.

The highlight of the conference is a live surgical demonstration and a workshop on knee and shoulder arthroscopy. Faculty members at the conference included Dr. James A Sullivan from Sydney, Australia, Dr. Bancha Chernchujit from Bangkok, Thailand, Dr. Kujan Nagaratnam also from Sydney, Australia and Dr. Sanjay Desai from Mumbai among others.

The inauguration of the conference was attended by members of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. In his welcome address, the Director of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram, Dr. Voleti Choudary said that the philosophy with which SSSIHMS, Prasanthigram was started was that of free healthcare. Describing the state of the Art facilities as a citadel of health care he bemoaned that wealthier trusts and individuals have not made any significant effort to emulate the model.

Addressing the delegates, Sri. K. Chakravarty, trustee, SSSCT pointed out that when no one else emulated the model, Baba set up another superspecialty hospital at Whitefield and hoped that the delegates would go back with a “sense of optimism”.

Speaking on the occasion Trustee Sri R. J. Rathnakar drew from his long association with Baba and said that in 1991 the location where the hospital is currently standing was nothing but a barren land and yet, Baba had converted the barren land into a citadel of healthcare and pointed out that we have a duty to spread the concept widely.

What is the meaning of an Avatar’s descent? Bhagawan lovingly drives home with crystal clarity.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, July 18, 2014

God descends for the people and among the people with love, compassion and affection, and mixes with the Individual Consciousness (Jeeva Prajna) so that Divine Consciousness (Deva Prajna) may be attained. Such rare opportunities are bestowed upon individuals as a result of the good deeds of past... several lives. A Guru is truly like God. Guru teaches in order to build the character of the devotee, so he or she can have a good future. A good devotee/student is he or she, who has utmost devotion towards their Guru and surrenders at their Master’s feet. Arjuna personified an ideal devotee who surrendered completely to his Master, Lord and Guru, Sri Krishna. Arjuna said to Krishna, “I will do whatever You tell me to do”. This is a classic act, an example of complete surrender to God. Students today must follow Arjuna as their role model and achieve complete surrender of their lives to service and betterment of the society.

- My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 1, Dec 25, 1980.

Obey the Guru, follow His instructions and progress along the spiritual road - this is true worship of the Lord’s feet (Pada Puja).-BABA.

"Thursday Divine Darshan"
Short darshan Video Clip every Thursday

Darshan - 02

When the compassionate Lord chose to move amidst us... even as He glided past us and before us, He silently slipped into our hearts too! The eyes that were intoxicated with the beauty of His Darshan and never satiated, unknowingly then, turned within in search of that divine glimpse. Isn't that how He purified us, isn't that how He made us seekers? That was the magic of our Sai's Darshan!

Looking at Swami we wondered, was He more gracious or more graceful... nay He is verily grace itself - when He walks, when He talks, when He scolds, or when he gathers His robe's folds, when he smiles and beckons or in disappointment frowns... Seeing His grace our hearts gaped, 'How could one be so very graceful?' He could be, because He was as gracious as He was graceful, and to shower His grace was the very purpose of His presence. Darshan was that special moment when He allowed us to witness His gracefulness and graciousness.

Learn to see the Unseen Force that is driving this body itself.”

Once in an interview given to a student, everything happened the same way, except for one. After closing the door behind, instead of asking 'emi samacharam (what’s the news?), Swami thundered: “How long will you go behind this body of Mine?... How long will you cage Me in this physical body? Learn to see the Unseen Force that is driving this body itself.”

The student who was by now stunned and surprised by Bhagawan’s words, who lived all this while out of pure love and devotion for His physical Form pleaded with Bhagawan, saying “Swami, but I don’t know how to connect to that Unseen, I know only You in this beautiful physical Form. Please tell me the secret of connecting to you through the unmanifest, the unseen, the eternal.” Bhagawan said, “All My life I have been telling you only this and you still ask Me this question again?” Swami then continued: “The only way, the simplest way, the most beautiful way for a devotee to connect to this Unseen Power, the Eternal Power of Divinity, is Love.”

From the transcript of the talk delivered by Sri Sai Giridhar in Sai Kulwant Hall, Prasanthi Nilayam on the evening of April 25, 2012.

The complete transcript of the talk can be read at : http://media.radiosai.org/journals/vol_10/01MAY12/03_Giridhar.htm

What is the best way to escape from the cycle of birth and death? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, July 17, 2014

Just as all rivers merge in the ocean, all branches of education end in spiritual education. You must experience that kind of totality and merge with Divinity. Traditions and truths are being separated into various groups and the vicious syndrome of dislike for one person towards the... other has come into existence. However, not just in the past, even in the present, there are quite a few people who conduct themselves as per the traditional rules and guidelines with purity to attain the ultimate goal in life. The means to liberation, in Krita Yuga was Meditation (Dhyanam), in Tretha Yuga was performing ritualistic worship (Yagna), in Dwapara Yuga it was worship (Archana), and in the present Kali Yuga, it is chanting the Name of the Lord (Namasmarana). Any or all of these methods, when followed with utmost sincerity and devotion, will help one achieve the ultimate goal of life which is Liberation (Moksha).

-My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 1, Dec 25, 1980.

Without surrender, there can be no liberation. So long as you cling to the “I”, the four prison walls will close in on you. Cross out the “I” and you are free. – BABA.

Radio Sai ~ God's own Radio Station

With the Divine Blessings of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Radio Sai went on air for the first time on November 23, 2001. It was inaugurated by Bhagawan Baba as a channel of the World Space Satellite Radio service. Radio Sai has over the years grown into an Internet Radio streaming service offering six different, 24/7 streams - Asia, Afri, Ameri, Telugu, Discour...se and Bhajan Stream.

Asia, Afri, Ameri streams offer programmes specific to the time zones of the three continents (Asia, Africa and America respectively). The Bhajan Stream plays bhajans 24 hours a day, while the Discourse Stream is a 24 hour channel that offers the many discourses delivered by Baba over the years.

The newest channel added to the service in June 2011 is the Telugu Stream which offers programmes in Telugu, which is the native language of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, where Bhagawan Baba made His advent. It is also the language in which Baba delivered almost all His talks.

Radio Sai’s e-Journal and other services

Apart from the above mentioned internet radio streams, Radio Sai offers through the website radiosai.org, Radio Sai’s official e-journal “Heart2Heart”. This journal started as a fortnightly publication and later was expanded and made into a monthly magazine. However from 2009, it was converted into a dynamic e-journal updated at least 3-4 times a week.

Now, on radiosai.org you will find insightful articles, inspiring stories, interviews with devotees, photo galleries, quizzes and the various videos produced by Radio Sai. You can also read the ‘Sai Inspires’, the thought for the day from Prasanthi Nilayam or subscribe and receive the daily Sai Inspires and other updates from Radio Sai through e-mail. Since Bhagawan’s 86th Birthday (23 Nov 2011) the Radio Sai team has started the live video streaming of all programmes that take place in the Sai Kulwant Hall. This is indeed great opportunity for the devotees to witness Live proceeding of various programs and festivals direct from Prasanthi Nilayam from their own place.

Bhagawan Baba is the Divine Teacher, who has come to instruct us all on the eternal and universal principles which are common to all religions, countries and communities. We at Radio Sai consider ourselves as one of the many humble instruments in His divine hands.

What is the ‘Buy 1 Get 3’ free policy offered by the Divine Lord? Bhagawan sweetly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, July 16, 2014

Many of you do not consider the sacred values of Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema and Ahimsa as inner current that are present within you. In fact, they form the basic foundation of human life. Without the basic fundamentals, the more knowledge you acquire, the greater and longer you c...ontinue to be a fool, if you do not invest effort to realize your true nature. Truth is present and latent within everyone. It is a precious gift from God. Whether you recognize these facts or not, and even if you consider them as irrelevant, these facts remain. Hence now onwards, you must install Truth deeply in your heart. Love is the natural fruit of developing Truth. If you grow in truthfulness, then as a result, Love blossoms from within. Along with Sathya and Prema, comes Ahimsa. Truth sustains Ahimsa or Non-Violence. You will find that the value of Non-violence is often absent, in every person, wherever and whenever Love is absent.

-My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 13, June 7 2007.

Holding fast to Truth, you must make Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-violence, the guide posts for your life. – BABA
