Educare is for bringing out or manifesting the human values of Truth, Right Action, Peace, Love, and Non-Violence by spiritual practice."
-Sri Sathya Sai Baba

More inspiration from the Sathya Sai Ideal Education Conference as we head into Guru Purnima. Swami also says, "Education is meant for life, not for a living."

All about Guru and Guru Purnima

“The disciple must learn to follow the commands of the Guru; that is the best way to benefit by his wisdom.” - Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Why must we develop the habit to never bear ill-will towards any being in this Universe? Bhagawan lovingly explains today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, July 10, 2014

The Gita offers valuable advice to help one swim across the sea of sorrow. Bear no ill-will against any living being (Adweshta Sarva Bhoothaanaam), always be engaged in promoting the wellbeing of all (Sarva Bhootha hithe rathaah), and consider foe and friend alike (S...amah shathrou cha mithre cha) - these are jewels contained in the Gita, highlighting the means to develop Universal Love. By declaring that none should have ill feeling towards the entire world of living beings, the Gita is teaching an invaluable lesson that the Divine is in all beings and objects, as an active illumining Principle, appropriately called Atma. The Vedic assertions also firmly establish this profound Truth. All are enveloped in God (Ishaavasyamidham Sarvam); the inner core of all beings is He (Sarva Bhootha antharatma).

- Divine Discourse, 29 July 1969.

Love can be developed and fostered only when non-violence is practiced.-BABA.

Yenna Bharathe Tanna Bharatha - The Glory Of India

Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba has said “ What greater misfortune can there be than the failure of Bharteeyas to understand the true greatness of her ancient and sacred culture. “

Bharteeya culture is the most ancient culture of all the cultures in the world. Yet it is the only culture which has survived with all its glory. The reason is Bharteeya culture is based on spirituality. The only principle of Unity according to Bharteeya culture is Divinity. Hence the eternal prayer of Bharata has been Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu “. Bharteeyas considered the entire world as but one family ‘VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM”

The Bal Vikas children and the youth of Pune District, Maharashtra performed a powerful and colourful dance drama “Yenna Bharathe Tanna Bharatha” . The sweet musical background together with the wonderful performance by the Bal Vikas children exhibited the glorious heritage and culture and the greatness of Bharat which Bhagawan Himself had taken upon Himself the huge task of bringing back on track to fall in line with our cultural heritage. The programme began at 8.20 am at Sai Kulwant Hall and concluded with bhajans and Aarti around 10 am.

This dance drama is based on the glorious story of India…venerated through the ancient scrolls of time as - Bharath. The land whose history knows no beginning, even as it concedes no end.

What is India all about…India ia about Sanathana Dharma - the all abiding perennial philosophy is its constitution. Today the country is rid with factions and frictions of all types based on religioinism, caste, creed and language. There is violence everywhere. All of man”s thoughts, desires and deeds are saturated with selfishness. It is because Bharteeyas have lost faith in their culture and traditions based on spirituality. They have lost faith in the SELF and become SELFISH.

In the past the Bharteeyas were worshippers of God but now the Bharteeyas have become the worshippers of Mammon. In the past people considered Thyaga as Yoga but now they are after Bhoga. In the past our people did not care for material wealth and comfort but now they care only for material progress Swami says In the past people believed in “Dharma moolam idam jagat” but now they believe in “Dhanam moolam idam jagat.” The play ground where our youth used to display their talents is now a slay ground.

The reason for this loss of faith in our culture based on spirituality is certainly because of the impact and influence of Western Culture. Vidya confers humility, through humility one acquires deservedness , this confers prosperity and develops the capacity of charity and right living. Right living confers happiness here and hereafter.”

Education is not for earning a living. It is a pity that though we have won freedom for the country, we have not freed ourselves from the craze of for Western Culture and education.

Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba describes the situation thus: Western education has spread so deep that our culture is submerged out of view. Western Culture has influenced us so much that family bonds are loosened much. Western Culture has fascinated us so much that Aryan wealth is frittered away. Western education is so important that only gaudy dress and speech attract people.. It is considered a shame to talk in one’s own mother tongue. It is considered foolish to follow the ancient path. It is considered old fashioned to honour one’s Guru. This is the state of our country today.”

Swami says “Modern education fosters only cleverness, It does not inculcate values or virtues. Of what use is ten acres of barren land, it is enough if we have an acre of fertile land”

According to Bhagawan the only way to set right these lapses and make Bharat once again shine with her pristine glory is to remind ourselves of the hoary cultural heritage of our country and follow the examples of leaders of all fields who worked for the upkeep of our heritage.

Behold, the Bharatha Bhaagya Vidhaatha.

Bhagawan in every single moment of the 80 decades…has spent in an ongoing measureless labour of love – to heal and seal the wounds of the past, to water, nourish and nurture the seeds of the future, to calm the tremors of apprehension and suppression, to wipe the tears of agony that spilt at the poverty of love and compassion and the obstruction of peace and truth…to rightfully rectify and remedy the callous disregard of Sathya, Dharma, Prema, Shanti, Ahimsa… to notably, nobly and expansively transform each Indian heart towards justice, amity and Samastha Jeeva Sukhino Bhavantu…so as to restore harmony in the song of the soul of Bharat…resurrect, rejuvenate and reestablish India as Jagathguru - the World Teacher.

PUTTAPARTHI WELCOMES THE DINDI YATRA 2014 DEVOTEES JULY 8, 2014

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family,

Puttaparthi today accorded a grand welcome to the 1200 plus devotees who walked all the way from Dharmavaram Railway station (about 50 kilometers from Parthi) carrying the Lord's palki, singing, dancing and immersing in the ocean of " naama smarana" the only way to cross the ocean of Life especially for those of us who are born in this " deadly" kali yuga

The legend says that two saints from the state of Maharashtra, Saint Gnaneswar and Saint Tukaram set for a pilgrimage to the Pandarpur, Lord VIthala's abode on the auspicious day of Ashadi Ekadashi.

Ever since, this tradition of walking to the Abode of Lord Vithala has been practiced in the length and breadth of Maharashtra.

It was some where in the year 1996, few Sai devotees from Maharashtra prayed to Swami to bless them with a similar " pilgrimage" to " Sai Vithala"'s abode Prasanthi Nilayam. This " Pilgrimage is called "DINDI YATRA"" .

The Dindi Yatra which started off with just 40 devotees, today is one of the most fascinating festivals that is being celebrated in Prasanthi Nilayam. This year (2014) Dindi yatra is one of the biggest yatras ever conducted with 1200 plus devotees from a 2 year old to 85 year old participating in the long walk. On the contrary, there are quite a few of us, giving some catchy names for the walks, do it very superficially even if it is less than a 3 kilometer walk but there is lot to be learnt from these devotees who give their heart and soul for this " walk" to the holy abode singing the holy name..

Devotees started arriving by trains to Dharmavaram by July 5th and they were given accommodation in a Rama temple in Dharmavaram. Around 9 am on July 6th, the Dindi Yatra started off from Dharmavaram with prayers and arathi to Swami. As a sign of blessing, the rain Gods started showering rains and the devotees set off to Parthi drenching in the love of Swami.

i had a chance to interact with many members of the group. Traditionally, Dindi yatra is planned at such a time when the farmers would have just sown the seeds in their fields but unfortunately, all over India, the monsoon is playing the hide and seek game. It is indeed a tense moment for poor farmers as their livelihood is completely depended on the monsoon.

Coming to Parthi as part of Dindi Yatra means a week long off and incase it rains in their native places, they would be losing on the sowing of seeds. Yet all the devotees from farming background came with one pointed devotion that Swam will never fail them and at the end of the day every thing is going to be alright which speaks high of their devotion and spirit of surrender.

This year's Dindi Yatra is organised by the Sai Organisation of Pune headed by District President Mr.Vasudev. He was all praise for the excellent teamwork by all the volunteers. Maximum number of devotees in the group are youths which indeed is a good sign for the future prospects of Sai Mission.

Apart from walking, the devotees. as they pass by number of small and big villages, spread the message of Sai, His love for mankind and also do lot of grama seva. This year 1 ton of specially prepared protein powder , " Sai Protein" was distributed in various villages. The Dindi group usually halts for lunch in big villages with big school premises. It is indeed so touching to see how they share the food with the villagers and school children. Arrival of these devotees is like a festival for the villagers for sumptuous food they are served with along with the pure and unsullied love of Bhagawan.

Many elders in the group say they don't feel even an iota of pain while they walk as they always have the Lord's name in their heart. Infact many elderly devotees dance all the way immersed in the glory of Bhagawan. The group also has first timers who are completely taken back with the amount of spiritual upliftment they experience during this walk. Young boys and girls have left their parents at home and are accompanied by their respective Balvikas gurus in the yatra.

Apart from singing the glory of our Lord, the Balvikas Gurus were seen instilling faith and courage into those children which speaks very high of Swami's prestigious Balvikas programme.

Right through the 50 kilometer path, these devotees inspired, instilled faith in many which in itself is a great accomplishment.. May Swami bless us all with such opportunities. May He bring thousands of such 'devoted" devotees to His abode so that our devotion is strengthened and we will be in a position to call ourselves " devotees"

PLease click the following link to see the photos of the Dindi Yatra. The video of the yatra will be uploaded and notified very soon.

What should we focus on in this life and why? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, July 9, 2014

When Yajnavalkya resolved to go into the forest to live as an ascetic, he called his two wives before him and proposed to divide the riches he had earned between them. Before accepting her share, Maitreyi asked her husband whether the riches will help her to realise Truth and achieve immortality. When she u...nderstood that they will not, and in fact they are mere hindrances, she refused to be burdened. Nachiketa refused the gifts of empire, affluence, and years of healthy life. Prahladha taught the same lesson to his playmates. Buddha solved the mystery of suffering through renunciation of attachment as the first step in his Sadhana. All of them had implicit faith in the existence of God; their lives revolved on the axis of that faith.

What is the simplest five point discipline to convert our home, wherever we are, into His residence, a Prasanthi Nilayam, where the Lord dwells? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, July 8, 2014

Silence is the first step in Sadhana, which makes the other steps easy. It promotes self-control, lessens chances of anger, hate, malice, greed and pride. Besides, you can hear His footsteps, only when silen...ce reigns in the mind. Cleanliness opens the door to Godliness. Inner and outer cleanliness are essential to install God within your heart. Service saves you from the agony you get when another suffers; it broadens your vision, widens your awareness, and deepens your compassion. All are waves on the sea originate from the same sea and also merge in it. Seva teaches you to be firm in this knowledge. Practice Love. Practice Hatelessness. None must be looked down upon as secondary, inferior or unimportant. Everyone has their allotted role in the drama designed by the Almighty. Do not slight, insult or injure anyone; for, He is in every being and your slight thus becomes a sacrilege.

Happy Ashadi Ekadashi 2014

A special greetings to all Radiosai listeners and followers on the Auspicious occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi.

In the Hindu lunar calendar, Ekadashi is the eleventh day of the fortnight after a new moon or a full moo...n, and is considered auspicious for the worship of Lord Vishnu. The Ekadashi after the new moon in the Hindu month of Ashada is of special significance to the devotees of Lord Vitthal, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu.

There is an interesting story behind this occasion. Tradition has it that two of the greatest devotees of the Lord from the state of Maharashtra, Sant Jnaneshwar and Sant Tukaram had set out on a pilgrimage from their respective places to the shrine of Lord Vitthala in Pandharpur and reached the Divine Abode in fifteen days time on this auspicious day of Ashadi Ekadashi. Following the tradition set by these great souls, devotees from the entire length and breadth of Maharashtra, set out for Pandharpur (the abode of Lord Vitthala), wearing basil beads and singing His glory on a pilgrimage to reach there in the stipulated period of fifteen days on this auspicious day to have Divine Darshan. These devotees are known as Varkaris and the pilgrimage is traditionally called Dindi Yatra.

In recent times, the holy festival of ‘Ashadi Ekadashi’ has seen multitudes from the states of Maharashtra and Goa make the pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam to celebrate this important festival in the Divine Presence. Ashadik Dindi Seva program will be presented by the devotees of Maharashtra tomorrow, on the morning of Ashadi Ekadashi Celebration. Tomorrow evening there will be a cultural programme by the Balvikas children of Pune dist. Maharashtra as a part of Ashadi Ekadashi Program.

Here is the schedule of tomorrow’s program (9th July 2014):

9th July – Wednesday (Ashadi Ekadashi)
Morning: Ashadi - Dindi Seva
Evening: Balvikas program by Pune district, Maharashtra State, India

Tune into www.radiosai.org to watch all this special programs live from Prasanthi Nilayam.

“Glory of Maharashtra” – Ashadi Ekadashi Celebrations - Musical Drama at Sai Kulwant Hall on 8th July, 2014

On the occasion of Asadhi Ekadashi celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam , the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas children and the Youth of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation of the district of Navi Mumbai of the State of Maharshtra and Goa  presented a lively and colourful musical drama entitled “Maharashtra Gatha “  depicting the Glory of Maharashtra

Bharath is a great country. It is a land where God himself incarnates time and again. The people of Bharath are religious, pious, compassionate and more tolerant by nature. This is because of their undying faith in the Almighty.

Bharath is a land with rich cultural heritage. All the 29 states in India are indeed unique in their own way.

The Glory of Maharashtra is indeed unfathomable.

Maharashtra has been lovingly referred by Bhagawan as “Mahan - Rashtra”. Maharashtra is the Karmabhoomi of many saints, the home of knowledge and literature, filled with rich traditions and culture .

Besides having an immense spiritual background , Maharashtra has given birth to many social reformers. To name a few - Mahatma Phule, Savitribai Phule, Dr Anandibai Joshi and Pandita Ramabai were instrumental in bringing about a positive change for the upliftment of society at large.

Before the Asadhi Celebration commenced there were three speakers who gave concluding speech of International Education workshop

The program commenced around 5.30 pm with the Ganesh festival and procession shown with the traditional lezim dance. Thereafter, a song in Telugu was sung in honour of Mahatma Jyothiba Phule who brought about a massive “Educational Transformation” amongst the womenfolk.

A famous story of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his meeting with Afzal Khan was also shown as a folk form of Maharashtra titled – “Povada”

Thereafter, a song in Hindi was sung in tribute to the great social reformer and saint , Gadge  Maharaj. This was followed by the vibrant Dindi procession and an energetic dance depicting the glory of Maharashtra.

The programme ended at 6.45 pm with the soulful and heart captivating bhajans by the Bal Vikas children , followed by photo sessions and arti.

Ladoos were distributed to the huge crowd assembled at Sai Kulwant Hall.

Loving Sairam!
Special Announcement!

“Every human being must revere the Vedas. It is the very foundation of life. Every act of daily life has its roots in the Vedas. Whether everyone knows this or not,... the Vedas pervade, everything.” (Discourse on 28th September, 1987)

The Vedas are universal and do not belong to any religion or country. They are not holy ‘text in Sanskrit’. The Vedas are the primordial vibrations that began with Aum. They were ‘seen’ by seers who captured them in the divine language Sanskrit. Among the different suktams, the Purushasuktam explains the spiritual unity of the Universe by narrating metaphorically how everything arose from the sacrifice of the ‘Purusha’, the Supreme Soul or Divine Energy.

And today, the first step towards teaching the Vedas ‘virtually’ to every person in the world has been taken by Sai Blossom. Enroll as a student to an energizing and elevating Vedam Tutor and begin with learning the Purushasuktam.

“The Purushasuktam can evoke the God-experience in the seeker.”
“This suktam gives a description of the spiritual unity of the universe.”

This Audio CD comes complete with the meaning and inner significance. As a Guru Poornima introductory offer, the CD is being made available for just Rs.75/- for the first fortnight of its arrival. Grab your copies from the Sai Blossom Store at Prasanthi Nilayam from the 9th of July till the 24th of July at these special prices.

Those that are not physically present at Puttaparthi should definitely ask their family and friends to pick up a copy for them. Or else, drop in an email to products@radiosai.org. What should we offer back to Him at the end of this journey called life? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, July 7, 2014

The scriptures declare that body is the ...temple and God is installed therein. Hence, consider your body as a vessel for cooking food, given on loan for hosting the festival of life. Can we return it to God, the Owner, in a worse condition? Should we not scrub it clean and return it bright and free from rust and dust? When the festival of life began, we received a pure, fresh and bright body from Him, innocent of evil. We have now inflicted dents, leaks and other signs of damage, through lust, greed, hatred, anger and envy. Do not return His property in poor condition. You must return it to Him, as pure as He gave it, to be most worthy of His Grace. Remember the purpose of your birth; and leverage your full potential and capability to achieve it. Wear the garland of devotion around your neck and saturate your thought, word and deed with Divine Love.

- Divine Discourse, 22 Jan 1982.

Know that the purpose of human birth is to reach the Lord.-BABA

Radio Sai Guru Poornima Special Wallpapers
By Radio Sai

10 photos

Guru Purnima begins a new year for a spiritual seeker. It’s a day when you reflect back and be grateful for all that you have been given and that which you received. It’s a clearing of all the credits and debits from your spiritual account. On this day one should be grateful for what one has achieved in the past and think about what one wants to achieve in the coming year. The reflection of all the blessings and knowledge received, all the transformation that has happened makes one grateful towards the tradition of the masters who preserved this knowledge. Our beloved Sai Sadguru taught us that when this Self is within you, where is the need to search for someone to teach you? A teacher who teaches others has had a teacher himself. The one who has no guru above him is the true guru.

Radio Sai team presents some special wallpapers to celebrate this glorious event and these wallpaper will reflect the essence of Sai Guru Tatwa (Significance of Sai Sadguru).

“The Sanskrit stanza that hails the guru as Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheswara and as the Highest God (Parabrahman) is misinterpreted. The right approach is to consider Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheswara as the guru. These three are symbolised by the three qualities (gunas) Brahma is activity (rajas), Vishnu is serenity (sathva) and Siva is inertia (thamas). The whole cosmos is constituted by these three qualities. The three three are present in man. The trinity are present in the form of the three qualities in every human heart.” - Baba

What is true ‘power’? How can one acquire it? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, July 6, 2014

It is often declared that knowledge is power. No! No! Character is power. Nothing can be more powerful on earth than character. Riches, scholarship, status, authority, etc. are all frail and flimsy before it. There is no dearth of books today; nor is there lack of gurus. Educational institutions spread ...knowledge everywhere. The Sun of Knowledge (Jnaana Bhaskara) is showering His rays in plenty to all alike. But, one can hardly find those who have imbibed the nectarous wisdom thus offered and are dwelling in the ecstasy it can confer. The mountain range with lust, anger, hatred, envy and pride as the peaks, shuts out the splendor of the Sun. Charity, compassion, fortitude, sympathy, and sacrifice, arise from the higher levels of consciousness while opposite tendencies breed in the lower levels. Remember, a strong virtuous character cannot be earned from any book; it is earned only through intimate involvement with society.

-Divine Discourse, 22 Jan 1982.

The end of education is character.-BABA

Some years ago when Sri Indulal Shah graced the Shores of South Africa he clearly mentioned giving money is easy, but to be physically getting involved is the basic requirement and serve with love. RADIOSAI H2H SPECIAL: GOD'S MESSENGER FOR MRIDANGAM - a Conversation with Guruji Kaaraikkudi Mani

His first tryst with Carnatic music was at the tender age of three. For Guruji Kaaraikkudi Mani, the meeting transformed into a love-affair of a lifetime. He started with vocal music but soon was drawn to percussion, and made mridangam virtually the breath of his life.

Today the world hails this titan of rhythm as ‘Master Mani’ since perhaps no one in the contemporary times und...erstands the power, beauty, aesthetics and the magic of mridangam as well as he does. Carnatic music percussionists the world over yearn to learn the Kaarikkudi Mani Bhani, the new style of music which has originated from this mridangam maestro.

Needless to say, this exceptional ability to create, perform as well as train and teach music to thousands of students makes Kaaraikkudi Mani a Guru par excellence. But what endears him to all is his love – his love for music and his love for God, as also a love for Indian culture and its values. His simplicity and humility, integrity and purity coupled with his sage-like countenance makes him almost a Saint of a Musician.

Guruji Kaaraikkudi Mani was in Prasanthi Nilayam in November 2011 to perform on the occasion of Bhagawan's 86th Birthday celebrations. We at Radio Sai spoke to him, just an hour after his magnificent performance in the Sai Kulwant Hall. Below we present the transcription of the conversation with Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani with Radio Sai's Bishu Prusty.

What is our role in the Society? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us today so we may reinforce our path.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, July 5, 2014

You must regard the prosperity and joy of others in the community as your own. Only then will India or any other country deserve prosperity and joy. Your happiness is bound up with the happiness of Society. Your physical, mental and intellectual strength and skills have to be dedicated, not merely to your own progress, but equally to the progress of Society. You must try to benefit yourself and the Society through such service. Use the strength, skills, and spirit of service for such work. A machine gets rested if it is not put to use; the human machine too gets rusted if it is not put to constant meaningful work. The pulse is not the correct indicator of your being alive; work and activity is the evidence and the value of real living. Your role is to translate your strength into activity along the path of duty.

- Divine Discourse, 22 Jan 1982.

Bhagawan subtly explains today how every movement of the Universe is beneficial and urges us to learn life lessons from Nature.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, July 4, 2014

What or who is God? When the answer to this question is sought, one discovers that God is the glory immanent in Nature. The earth rotates on its axis at a speed of thousand miles an hour. As a consequence, we have alternations of day and night, which helps us to live on this globe. Besides, it moves around the sun at the rate of 66,000 miles an hour, causing the seasons which bring rains for crops and vegetation which sustain human life. The earth does not profit in the least by these rotations but human beings survive, enjoy life and prosper on account of them. Nature must indeed be laughing at the sterile frenzies, the endless pursuits, and the countless miseries to which human beings submit themselves to, in their search for achieving the unachievable! You must search in Nature the sacred lessons it holds for you; then, you will understand how deep and how everlasting is the Truth that it conveys to you!

-Divine Discourse, 22 Jan 1982.

There is no greater example of Selfless love than Nature.-BABA.

New Talk: Achieving the "Sai Mission" post Mahasamadhi

By Aravind Balasubramanya

Jul 3 at 7:23 AM

Dear all,

There is often this feeling that since Sri #SathyaSai has taken#Mahasamadhi, we need to pull up our socks and start doing more for 'His mission'! But what is it exactly that we must do? Should it be different from what we did when He was physically there? What are the resources we need to further His mission and how do we gather them?

The answer arrives from episodes in the life of Sri #Kasturi, Dr.#Bhagawantham and, most importantly, from our own Swami's life. Here are some unique episodes and incidents which possibly have not been made public before. An hour long talk, titled, "Achieving the '#SaiMission' post Mahasamadhi."

One of the attributes of the Sadguru, the Supreme Preceptor, is 'Dvandvaa Teetham' which means, One who is beyond the world of dualities - the One who transcends ...this transitory phenomenon of pleasure and pain, agony and ecstasy. He is indeed 'Triguna Rahitam', the One who is far removed from all characteristics that shapes ordinary man, the One beyond all attributes. He is the One who energizes everything but in the same vein surpasses all that can be seen and felt. Like the Sun He sustains every being and thing, but exists only as a witness. Powering everything but at the same time unattached to anything, He is ever in Bliss... Brahmanandam. 'When I am alone, I am God' as Baba once revealed. Let’s transport ourselves to experience at least a wee bit of that Superlative Bliss through these serene snaps.

Lord Krishna declares in the Bhagavad Gita, "There is nothing in the three worlds that I am obliged to do, nothing unaccomplished that I have to accomplish, but I am still engaged in activity (karma)”. Lord Krishna sa...ys this, for, if God is inactive, the Cosmos will come to a grinding halt. You too, must take the lead and follow it. Translate your strength into activity along the path of duty. The young follow the lead of elders. So elders must consistently hold on to ideals and work towards their realization so that the entire universe can attain prosperity and peace. Mother Earth teaches her children this lesson of service and sacrifice. Good conduct must be the main key to the life of every being. Remember, it is the 'way of living,' the path of virtue, that keeps you in the memory of people long after death.

- Divine Discourse, 22 Jan 1982.

Service to people, even if done as part of one's duty becomes elevated into Divine Worship. -BABA.

What is the source of anxiety and restlessness? What should we do to be happy and escape misery? Bhagawan gently reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, July 2, 2014

All of you are pilgrims in the journey towards the city of liberation. Every life is but a stage in the journey, your body is a rest-house for a short stay during the pilgrimage. The mind is the caretaker in the place of our rest. Do not treat the Mind as a M...aster or Owner, but take care of it so that the house we are privileged to occupy is not damaged or polluted. We must treat the watchman politely and not destroy its interiors. A restless mind is an important source of ill-health. Many are constantly afflicted with some source of worry or other, never free from anxiety. Why? Because they are identifying themselves with the body! One acquires their body, through their past activities and deeds, caused by the twin pulls of love and hate. You can escape from this cycle, if you realize the Oneness of the Divine being present in you and in everyone.

Divine Discourse, 20 Nov 1982.

You are a spark of the Divine and you must manifest Divinity in your every activity. - BABA.

Loving Sairam!
Special Announcement!

( Radiosai invites you to soak in that bliss of Darshan. Starting from Guru Poornima every Thursday, we will offer you a small Darshan clip, to live and relive that magical experience. Stay tuned with us to watch this space every Thursday for your 'Thursday Divine Darshan'! )

When the compassionate Lord chose to move amidst us..even as He glided past us and before us, He silently slipped into our hearts too! The eyes that were intoxicated with the beauty of His Darshan and never satiated, unknowingly then, turned within in search of that divine glimpse. Isn't that how He purified us, isn't that how He made us seekers? That was the ...magic of our Sai's Darshan!

Looking at Swami we wondered, was He more gracious or more graceful..nay He is verily grace itself - when He walks, when He talks, when He scolds, or when he gathers His robe's folds, when he smiles and beckons or in disappointment frowns..Seeing His grace our hearts gaped, 'How could one be so very graceful?' He could be, because He was as gracious as He was graceful, and to shower His grace was the very purpose of His presence. Darshan was that special moment when He allowed us to witness His gracefulness and graciousness.

Radiosai invites you to soak in that bliss of Darshan. Starting from Guru Poornima every Thursday, we will offer you a small Darshan clip, to live and relive that magical experience. Stay tuned with us to watch this space every Thursday for your 'Thursday Divine Darshan'!

Thank you and Loving Sai Ram,

DOCTOR'S DAY SPECIAL

SATHYA SAI BABA, TRANSPLANTER OF MY HEART - Moments, Memories and Miracles from Radio Sai archives

Some time ago, Radio Sai broadcast a series relating to the experiences of Sai doctors. The articles on which this ser...ies was based was taken, with due permission of course, from the book inspired medicine, edited by Judy Warner, and published by leela press in USA. We present below the transcript of the article by Dr. Valluvan Jeevanandam of America, with notes from our side.

Dr. Jeevanandam is a brilliant heart surgeon with heart transplant as his specialisation. to start with, he was a non-believer, as is often the case. and then came a day when it was time for him to become a sai doctor and serve the Lord. over now to Dr. Jeevanandam…..

Why are consoling thoughts and comforting acts of service an effective tonic to keep us on the path? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Virtuous living, beneficial thoughts, elevating ideals and righteous conduct can confer not only good health, but what is even more precious, Aatmaananda, the ecstatic Awareness of the Reality itself. When one yearns for the happiness and prosperity of all mankind, he or she is blessed with the wisdom and strength to mark out the way and lead them towards it. The person sees one’s chosen God in everyone. Every act of theirs will be as pure, as sincere and as sacred as an offering to God. A very effective way to conquer all sources of physical and mental disease and debility is awareness of one's Divine (Aatmic) Reality. That will bring about an upsurge of Love and Light, for, when one recognises that he or she is the Atma, one would cognize the same Atma in all, and share in the joy and grief, strength and weakness of all.

- Divine Discourse, 20 Nov 1982.

Whoever loves and serves all, him the Lord loves and honours. -BABA

From Maya to Manasa Bhajare

Occasionally, Little Sathya performed miracles to drop hints that He was indeed far beyond the normal. Repeatedly He demonstrated His ability to absorb enormous cruelty and physical punishment without any trace of hatred or rancour towards those ill-treating Him. And last but not the least, He constantly diverted the attention of one and all from the mundane to the Divine.

Came finally the day to snap all worldly ties and launch the Mission He had incarnated for. October 20, 1940 was that day. On that morning, Sathya left for school as usual but within minutes He was back home. Standing on the doorstep, He flung aside the bag containing books and in ringing tones declared,

"I am no longer your Sathya. I am Sai. I don't belong to you. I have My work. My devotees are calling Me. I am going. I can no longer stay here."

It was here on 20 October 1940 that the 14-year old Sathya declared His Avatarhood, and a significant new chapter was written into the saga of the Sai Avatar – one that generations would see as a turning point in the collective destiny of all humanity, nay for the entire universe, for we now realize the infinity of His glory. It was here that He taught his first sermon, a prayer that is so dear to millions and holds an eternal message for all aspiring souls.

Manasa Bhajare Guru Charanam
Dusthara Bhava Sagara Tharanam.

These words mean, “Meditate O mind on the Feet of the Guru; for He alone can take you across the difficult sea of samsara (worldly existence).”

Samsara is the cycle of birth and death; the process of coming into existence as a differentiated, mortal creature over and over again until one is able to break this repeated rigmarole and merge back into the Infinite Source. Thus from the beginning, Sathya Sai Baba promised to lift us up and become our vehicle for a safe passage above the stormy waters that threaten to engulf us.

My life is My message

Swami had declared His mission in such a profound manner - to show humanity that God exists in everything, even a crude stone! That was the underlying message in everything that He did those 3 days in the garden. His classmates wept when they heard that Sathya would no longer attend school, that He was much beyond their reach, that His company was hereafter only for those upon whom He showered His Grace. Many came to the garden with incense and camphor to worship Him. Some came to sympathize with the family, some to congratulate them. Some came to learn, and some, alas, even to laugh! But Swami’s message had been the same - to inspire mankind to see the common thread of divinity that runs through all. And that remains His message throughout. Even in the final act of benediction, He seemed to exude the same message - Divinity pervades everyone and everything.

Some news to share: Audio articles

Dear all,

With deep gratitude to Swami, I would like to offer one more kind of satsangh - audio articles. I was constantly asked for making "audio" articles instead of just the text ones. As a first step towards that, here is the audio of a talk entitled, "Sathya Sai - God of Small things". I am trying out this new site called Mix Cloud. Would love feedback on the effectiveness of this site for uploading several talks on other topics.

This talk has some bitter-sweet and sweet-sweet experiences where Swami definitely became the God of small things for me, and thus became the God of all things as well! Among the several incidents is also the defining moment of my life - when I literally got 'chained' to Him.

Check out and feedback please...
