'Magical 50,000 Likes!!’ - on Facebook

Loving Sairam!

Dear Radio Sai facebook followers,

Every moment spent being a part of His mission of love, is itself a cause for celebration. How then to describe those moments when we look back and marvel at how much He has achieved through us. In the Ramayana when the monkey army completed the bridge across the ocean, they must've looked back and wondered how did they accomplish what they just did. Or when after Moses led the people across the Red Sea - his heart must've re
...ached out in gratitude that the Lord did it all and permitted him to be a part of it.

That is the feeling we at Radio Sai are filled with today. This is yet another mile stone, where we pause, celebrate but remind ourselves that He is the doer. And we also pray, "Swami let this be just the beginning, may more and more be drawn to You and be drenched in Your love." Team Radio Sai thanks each one of you for this 'Magical 50,000 Likes!!’

Stay tuned with us and enjoy every moment with God’s own Radio Station - Radio Sai!!

Thank You,
Team Radio Sai

Arthur Hillcoat of Australia has merged with our Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Om Sri Sai Ram.

It is with deep regret that I learnt that Arthur Hillcoat of Australia has merged with our Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. This is a great loss for the Sai organization worldwide, and in th
...is time of grief, we offer our sincere condolences to Mrs. Poppy Hillcoat and their family. Arthur was an exemplary devotee who served Swami with great dedication and devotion for over three decades. It is no wonder that Swami lovingly used to refer to him as “Lion”. He was truly lion-hearted and spread Swami’s eternal and universal message of Love and Unity to the far corners of the world. You may also remember the brilliant and uplifting Christmas programs he used to organize in Prasanthi Nilayam in days past, and his dedicated service as the Chairman of Sathya Sai Council of Australia.

Let us pray to our Lord, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to give his soul permanent peace. May He also give the Hillcoat family strength and peace at this time.

Jai Sai Ram.
With loving regards,
Dr. Narendranath Reddy
Chairman, Prasanthi Council

FLAG HOISTING CEREMONY - Radio Sai Special Photo Gallery on 68th Independence Day

Even as we celebrate the 68th Independence Day of India We fondly recollect how Swami insisted that the students participate in the flag-hoisting ceremony on this day every year. He would instruct that on the Independence Day, they should come for Darshan only after paying tribute to this holy Motherland. We are pleased to present to you glimpses of this continuing tradition, from the various institutions started by Bhagawan. Fill your hearts with the heritage of Bharat

“Embodiments of Divine Atma! Esteeming love as the essence of divinity, you have to engage yourselves in loving service to society. You have to restore the glory of Bharat. Bharat has been in th...e past the preceptor of all nations. All other people are coming to acquire peace and enlightenment. In this situation, it is a great misfortune that Bharatiyas (Indians) themselves are not conscious of their greatness. Bharatiya history reflects the achievements of Bharat in the realms of the physical, the mental, the spiritual and all other aspects of life; we have to fill our hearts with this heritage.”

Bharat is a land of plenty

“It is high time you realised what a sacred country Bharat is. In this holy land, nothing is lacking. ‘What cannot be found in Bharat cannot be found elsewhere’ is an ancient saying. In spite of these multifariou...s endowments, this country is being regarded as poor and backward. This is ignorance born of delusion. Only when we free ourselves from this delusion, we can experience Atmic bliss. We can experience Brahman (divinity) only when we can get rid of bhrama (delusion)."

What is the connection between Freedom and Spirituality? What is true freedom? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, August 15, 2014

In three situations, you do not have freedom: the
...discharge of duties (karthavyam), actions done under compulsion (nirbandham) and obligatory actions arising out of certain relationships (sambandham). If a poor man, unable to get food, resorts to stealing, he cannot claim that he is exercising his freedom to appease his hunger. Even if, for his own selfish reasons, he may try to justify the stealing, his conscience will tell him that he is committing wrong. Any action performed against one’s conscience is not an act of freedom. True freedom happens only when one is free from the impulses of the mind. Freedom (Swechcha) is made up of the words: Swa + ichcha. ‘Swa’ means Atma. Only when the will of the Atma prevails can there be real freedom. God and you are not separate. This oneness should not be a mere intellectual concept. It should be a living reality. Then you will experience true freedom - the freedom of the Spirit.

- Divine Discourse, May 31, 1990.

The state when your mind and intellect unites, is called freedom, also known as liberation (Moksha).-BABA.

Land of sages and saints

“Bharat has produced many great sages and saints who have taught profound truths. It is a land of heroes who fought for the freedom of the country. It has been the leader in the knowledge of various arts and scienc
...es, in music and literature. It is most unfortunate that many born in this sacred land are unaware of its unique greatness. Love for the mother is a sweet virtue. What a pity that today, love for the Motherland should have declined!

You must love your Motherland. Resolve to dedicate your lives in her service. Unity is the primary requisite. People celebrate the birthdays of our great ones, but few care to follow their teachings. There is nothing great about celebrating birthdays. Every effort must be made to understand their teachings and act unto them.”

Bharat - A holy land of sacrifice and merit

Baba always refers to Bharat as a holy land of sacrifice and merit. He refers to Bharat as the engine, which will steer the destiny of other nations which are like bogies of a train. In His birthday message on the 23rd of November, 1990, Ba...ba elaborated on this subject in a great detail. Here are a few excerpts from that discourse-

"Bharat" denotes the entire human family.

“When we refer to Bharat, the term is not related to any particular individual, country or circumstance. Although many different derivative meanings have been given to the term by different authorities, these are only their individual interpretations…

‘Bharathi’ denotes Goddess Saraswathi who is the Vaakdevata (Goddess of Speech). Hence every man born with the gift of speech is a Bharatiya. The name is not associated with any particular individual or country. The term ‘Bharatiya’ is applicable to the entire human family. "Bha" refers to the Principle represented by Divine Knowledge. "Self-knowledge" is "Bha." "Bharatiyas" are those who take delight in Self-knowledge. Hence everyone who shines by his own self luminous power is a Bharatiya.

Bharatiya (Indian) is one who acquired divine strength by Atmabalam (the power of the Spirit). So, whoever one may be, whatever one's country, he has to acquire this strength of the Spirit.”

Promote the glory of Bharat

“When everything is available within Bharat, why go begging to other countries? Everything has originated from Bharat. Hence, having taken birth in Bharat, strive to promote the glory of Bharat. Every devotee sh
...ould take a pledge to protect and promote the greatness of Bharat. Like an elephant that does not know its own strength, Bharatiyas are unaware of their power. Despite their myriad capacities, they are behaving as weaklings, like an elephant before its mahout. You have to get rid of this weakness.”

“Strive to make India strong and happy so that it may not be dependent on other countries, or become vulnerable. She was once the guru of humanity; let her assume that role again. Lead a life in such a manner that you are respected and revered as a child of Bharath, a life that will be an example and inspiration for all.”

Fondly remembering Swami's Lion:

Mr.Arthur Hillcoat, whom Swami fondly addressed as lion, has gone back to his home, the lotus feet of Swami. Swami has taken His Lion, our dear Mr. Arthur Hillcoat, back to Himself. Arthur left his body pea
...cefully last night.

I remember, on one particular Christmas, the 'lion' completed his speech. Swami was looking towards the lectern and anticipating Arthur to go to Him for another namaskar. But Arthur just turned and walked to his place. Swami seemed to have a slightly puzzled look on His face. Suddenly, Arthur remembered, put his hands on his head, turned around and rushed to Swami. The glee on Swami's face was unimaginable. I have a photograph of the same in my personal archives somewhere and shall soon dig it out.

On another occasion, Swami was speaking to the students in the interview room. He suddenly asked,
"Do you want to see a lion here and now?"
"Yes Swami..."
"Aren't you afraid?"
"Why should we be Swami? You are with us..."

Swami then sent word for Arthur who was outside. Arthur opened the interview room door and asked,
"You called Swami?"
Swami replied,
"No. It's nothing. Go back."

After he left, Swami said,
"See, that is lion. My lion."

When a lion roars, the whole place is filled with it. Deep respects for this lion-hearted lion of Swami who will always be remembered for his roars of love which filled every space that he traversed

Often people get stumped by superhuman occurrences. A Divine Incarnation (Avatar) is one such example. What is the purpose of such miracles and incarnations? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nila
...yam, Wednesday, August 13, 2014

The Supreme Lord can assume countless forms including that of the entire cosmos. Hence scriptures declare, "The entire cosmos is God’s dwelling. All are forms of the Divine." Seeing a Divine Incarnation people doubt whether God has such miraculous powers while He has the same body as themselves. People who find it difficult to perceive their oneness with the Self (Atma), fail to recognise the Avatar. Such people reviled Lord Krishna as a philanderer and a thief. Such accusations, born of delusion, will never undermine His greatness. Lord Krishna's leelas were intended to reveal His Divinity. People make the same mistake about themselves; forgetting their inherent Divinity, they identify themselves with their bodies. Lord Krishna’s Avatar is to teach mankind to transcend their body consciousness.

- Divine Discourse, Aug 28, 1994.

God’s descent is for man’s ascent. - BABA.

PRASANTHI DIARY: VARALAKSHMI PUJA (AUG 4TH, 2006)

In August 2000, Swami explained about the origins of the Varalakshmi Puja. Swami said, "Legend has it that Parvati once asked Easwara (i.e. Lord Shiva) if there was any way to ensure the auspiciousness, prosperity and well-being of women. She desired that every woman should lead a long, happy and healthy life with her husband, children, grandchild
...ren, friends and relatives. Easwara was pleased with Parvati’s prayer and told her about the Varalakshmi Vrata, which would confer all a woman may ask for. This particular Vrata is a boon for all women."

"Easwara revealed the sacred Varalakshmi Vrata to Parvati, so that future generations might perform this Vrata and derive the benefits there from. The Purohit (chief priest) has enumerated the benefits which this Vrata confers. When a woman performs the Varalakshmi Vrata, she gets the blessings that she may live long with plenty and prosperity as a sumangali (a woman whose husband is alive) with her children and grandchildren. Varalakshmi protects seven past generations and seven future generations. Noble women like Savitri and Anasuya enjoyed peace and prosperity by performing this sacred Vrata. The purpose of Varalakshmi Vrata is to atone your sins, develop sacredness and ultimately lead you to Divinity."

On August 4th, 2006, another grand Varalakshmi Puja was performed in the divine presence for the second year in a row. This year nearly 1500 women from all over India as well as from abroad participated in this function held in the divine presence to pray for the well being of their husbands and their families.

Sai Kulwant Hall was beautifully decorated this day with pieces of lawn and with small Lakshmi Statues adorning the steps of the veranda. The centre of the veranda dais, right in front of Ganesha was done up as a floral pandal (protective structure) resting on 4 columns wherein a beautiful silver statue of Goddess Lakshmi was installed. On either side of the veranda a floral portrait of Mother Lakshmi, done by using flower petals of different hues, was also placed to lend the right ambience to this holy day.

All the women were seated in rows in front of the dais with a plate in front with all the necessary ingredients for the puja. The ladies were all dressed alike in a silk sari and the entire hall had a festive and august ambience that provided the right setting for the conduct of this sacred ritual.
After Swami arrived at the Hall to the sounds of veda chanting, He lit the lamp to signify the start of the proceedings. Then the priest after obtaining Swami’s blessings led all the women in the conduct of this ritualistic worship that lasted for approximately 45 minutes. At the conclusion of the ritual the priest also briefly related the story of the origin of this puja for the benefit of the participants. All the participants were later served a sumptuous lunch in the South Indian canteen.

Sathya Sai with Students - August 2014

Home Page: http://sathyasaiwithstudents.blogspot.in/

Subject: Pathri, Shirdi Babas Janmasthan.. New revelations

Views expressed in it are personal -- of Marias and myself .

Om Sairam

Marias,my speaking pet dog,was pissed off.
At my refusal to acknowledge its presence.

"Come on.Don't treat me like
some of you humans
treat your Senior citizens at home, whose presence
you dont even acknowledge unless they fall sick.."
-Marias went ballistic.

Ok.Ok. Stop wailing..I am listening.." I tried to pacify.
"In our canine world,
the talk of the..sorry..the bark of the town
is about the new discovery
 - Pathri, the
Birthplace of Shirdi Baba..where a big
temple has been constructed and a
board put up that it is His birthplace."

"Whats new. Our Swami has already given every detail of
the life of Shirdi Baba including this Pathri and
a book also has been published on it."
-I quipped while flipping through the morning newspaper.

Yes. Our Swamis narration is the ultimate Truth.
This is another independent effort
reaching the same conclusion about Pathri.
It is in a book" Sai Baba of Shirdi" by V.B.Kher.
In 1995 the foundation for a temple
was laid in Pathri and now it is a big temple
with both Hindus and Muslims visiting it .
The same Mr. Ramani who gave a huge donation of Rs.110
+ cr to Shirdi , helped build this temple in Pathri .
Many of you may not know it. But in our canine gossip circuit
it is discussed big time in street corners... "

" How come you collected so much of info...
some dogged pursuit that is Marias.."

" You guys only talk. And always mistake 'Knowledge' for 'Experience'.
You don't pursue anything till its logical end and discover the truth..
In our world, even if one starts barking, the rest of us
complete the barking cycle and take it to the logical end,you see.
And stop only after discovering that the man in the darkness
is the new Paper -wala and not any thief.
O.k. Our Swami has told about Pathri and it was also published.
But how many of you read it. I am only asking about the people
who have the book and not about those who don't have..
You, drag-n-drop guys only buy and buy...
never read fully any book which are already with you.
Now lemme tell what Swami told on 27th Nov 1992 at Parthi
on the first day of Navarathri .. It goes like this...

Shirdi Sai Baba was born
 on Sep 27, 1838.
He was born in a poor Brahmin family in the village of Pathri in
Aurangaabaadh District. For various reasons the parents left the child. A fakir found him. As he
was a foundling, the fakir had no natural affection for him. After some years the boy was handed
over to one Gopaal Rao Dheshmukh, who was also called Venkusa by the people on account of
his scholarship and wisdom.

The boy grew up in Venkusa's home for some time.

However, he was not inclined to stay there for long. In 1854 he went to Shirdi.. "- Sri Sathya Sai Baba -
 SSS Vol 25"

"Enough.. enough Marias.. Agreed Pathri is Shirdi Babas birthplace
and Sh.Ramani built a temple there. Fine".

" Its not enough. Lets go there. It is in Maharashtra only.
And only overnight journey ...near Parbhani...
What a great blessing to know this.
And here you are lazing around with a
Newspaper full of dirty stories..or
watching Arnab Goswami's Verbal Gym in Times Now.
We dogs can't stomach your media.. ."
Egged on by Marias we set out in search of this Pathri...
Our team landed there on 2nd Aug 2014

The village outskirts had a sign board
announcing that it is Shirdi Baba's Janmasthan.
Amazing temple with
'out of the World
' Baba's Statue.
The temple and the Dhyan Mandap at the basement
are full of divine vibrations. We sat there for a while
trying to
get absorb
ed in the divine ambience.
We also saw a few Muslim
 visitors in the temple
as though
underscoring the famous line "Sab ka Malik Ek" ..

Surprisingly no one there seem to know about
our Swamis revelation of the details of the
life of Shirdi Baba before coming to Shirdi.
We mentioned this to the bookstall owner there
and gave a photo of our Swami.
Hoping that he would tell this piece of vital info to those
visiting his shop for the books.
We bought a book containing the story of how
the temple came about with the efforts of
Sh V.B.Kher and then Sh.Ramani the techie giant.
And learnt that there was one 'Bulb Baba'who
predicted about this temple 17 years before it came up.

Devgiri express from Mumbai goes straight to this
place ,the nearest station being Manwath Road(16 kms).
One can also alight at Parbhani which is 45 kms away.

Yes. Marias is right. We mistake
'Knowledge
' for
'Real Experience
'.
And stop with it thinking 'Mission accomplished'.

Thats why Empty slogans of many 'Experience-starved'
fail to invoke
'Bhakti
'. Despite being at their 'articulate-best'..
And even few words of
Wisdom from the 'Experienced'
pierce the hearts and transform many.
Like Ramana Maharishi(Who am I),Nisargadatta (Iam that)..
Saints of few words
soaked in
real authentic 'Experience' of the divine...
Every devotee's logical next step is "Experience"
in Spiritual domain.

And 'Practice' only leads to real Experience'.
Practicing at least a bit of
what is already known is the first step.
(For more Refill there is always Sai Literature.)

"Like Nine points Code of Conduct..."
-
 Marias added to our mindspeak
and ran away to complete a barking cycle
of its buddies outside...

Enough of Verbal Acrobatics. Let's Experience Divinity.
Its Experience Time. Practice Time. Action Time.

What are our hands meant for? Bhagawan explains in a beautiful way to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Tell your hand, “Oh hand, how sacred you are? You are unity personifi...ed. One finger cannot lift a cup; when one finger moves to pick it up, all of you, though different in sizes and shape, rush to help and hold the cup! You don’t care for or observe any difference. Such is the unity inherent in you, amongst your fingers. Oh hand, you are very helpful in preserving the human body, you remove troubles through your hard work and you help others. Why do you sometimes act in a manner that develops enmity? Today there is no unity in any congregation, society or religion. However, you know no hatred. Please never indulge in wrong actions.” Thus instruct and guide your hand so that your actions become sacred. When your thoughts, words and deeds are sanctified, all the other instruments also follow suit and thus you attain liberation.

Sathya Sai School in Top 8!

There are eight schools in India whose average aggregate is 90% and above in CBSE examination (Class 12- English and best four subjects). One of them is Sri Sathya Sai School - Prashanti Nilayam .

Considering
...the fact that Only 9 Percent students appearing 12 class examination all over India score 90% or more, it is a stupendous achievement for Higher secondary school at Puttaparthi.

A feat that is achieved almost every year by the school. School celebrates it silently. Media (TOI) acknowledges it this year.

Where in the world can we get the precious commodity, the diamond called Love? Bhagawan, Our Loving God, gives us the answer today, ringing bells of joy within.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, August 11, 2014

Love is a precious diamond that can be got only in the realm of love and nowhere else. The kingdom of Love is located in every love-filled heart. Love can be experienced only in a mind flowing with love. The precious diamond of Love cannot be obtained merely through meditation or following prescribed sacred rituals. At best they only give mental satisfaction. The greater your love for God, the greater is the bliss you experience. When love declines in you, your joy also declines proportionally. Hence you must fill your heart with love for God. Love will not enter your heart if it is already filled with selfishness and self-conceit. Hence forget your petty self and concentrate your thoughts on God. If you love God, you will see Him everywhere. The essence of all spiritual disciplines is contained in Love.

- Divine Discourse, Sep 2, 1991.

Love is God’s only property. It cannot be purchased anywhere; it issues from the heart. – BABA.

Fleeting Moments, Lasting Memories with Mr. Yeshab Giri

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving Sairam and Raksha Bandhan Greetings to all!

We are delighted to present here a brand new episode of Fleeting Moments, Lasting Memories. In today’s episode Mr. Yeshab Giri, a Former Sai Student will share h
is memorable memories with Bhagawan Baba.

Hailing from Darjeeling, West Bengal, Yeshab Giri did his high school in Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Srisailam in the state of Kerala, and later joined the Brindavan campus of SSSIHL for his Bachelors in Sciences majoring in Bioscience. After this in 1993 he joined the Prasanthi Nilayam campus for his Masters in Business Administration. When he left the portals of Baba's college in 1995, he worked for first two years in Alpine Industries and later for another 2 and half years in Cannon India in Delhi. Subsequently he joined Adecco India, a Swiss Firm which is into HR services, and as on December 2013 when this conversation was recorded he has served this organisation for 12 years living in Delhi.

What are special about Yeshab are the many opportunities of divine interaction he was blessed with during this student days. Being a gifted singer he was blessed to sing bhajans in the divine presence right from his first year of joining Swami's college and he was literally part of every cultural programme in the University be it bhajans, music concerts or dramas. And all these chances conferred on him memorable moments with the divine too. He was also blessed to travel to Kodai Kanal with Bhagawan on one occasion.

In this conversation with Radio Sai's Bishu Prusty, which was recorded in December 2013, Yeshab recounts all those treasured memories. Given below are the links to enjoy this memorable interview in three parts.

Wishing you all a "Happy Raksha Bandhan"

Raksha Bandhan symbolizes the divine bond between brothers and sisters. Sisters tie a symbolic thread of protection to ...brothers' hands and brothers, in turn, shower lavish gifts on their sisters and pledge to protect them always. Since Sai is the divine protector of all, we will be tying a raakhi (Symbolic thread) to Baba's hands and pray to Him to protect one and all

How is Raksha Bandhan connected with the life of Lord Krishna

Swami : Why do sisters tie Raakhis?… When Krishna was about to leave for the war, His sister, Subhadra tied a thread to His hand, praying for His welfare. Does anybody know Sanskrit? (When nobody could answer, Swami spoke two sentences in Sanskrit, which were spoken by Subhadra while she tied the thread to Krishna) It means, “May you shine like the full moon and may you be victorious.” This was the first time Raakhi was tied. Nowadays there are neither Subhadras nor Krishnas!

If everything is in essence Divinity, why do we perceive different entities? Bhagawan lovingly elucidates to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Sunday, August 10, 2014

The Reality which sustains the ...cosmos and the cell is one, the all-pervasive Consciousness (Brahmam). When this infinite vastness is related to the cosmos, it is called the ‘Supreme Divine’ (Paramatma). It is called Atma when it is considered as the core of individual beings. All three are one entity, but they 'appear' different and delude the short-sighted. This characteristic is known as Maya. The Supreme Power uses the three Gunas, serenity (Satwa), activity (Rajas) and inertia (tamas) to express Itself differently. The Gunas urge a person towards knowing, desiring or working. When Maya impels Brahmam to project itself, leveraging Satwa Guna, it appears as Eshwara or God. Brahmam projects itself as living beings (Jivi) leveraging Rajo Guna. It becomes Nature (Prakriti) when associated with Tamo Guna. Thus Brahmam is the basis of all three – Nature, Living Beings and God. Maya is the mirror in which Brahmam is reflected.

- Divine Discourse, Sep 7, 1985.

Those who recognizes Divinity within themselves and in all beings dwell in the constant presence of God, wherever they are. -BABA

How should we live in peace and amity, and resolve differences on important religious matters? Bhagawan sweetly and lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, August 9, 2014

The foundation for everything is morality. Without moral values, humanity cannot survive. Often, people of different religions hold on to different objectives and are unable to see the underlying reality, and as a result have different opinio
...ns. For example: one says a rupee consists of 4 quarter rupees and another says it is 2 half-rupees and the third says it is ten 10 paisa. All these denominations mean the same rupee. Only ignorant people, who become dogmatic and fail to perceive this oneness, imagine differences and resort to criticizing each other. Sacred scriptures have taught that there should be no arguments or debates on religious matters. They must be resolved peacefully. The guidelines of all religions lead to the end goal of Truth and Righteousness.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 16, Jul 23, 1989.

Do not hate or make fun of any religion. Don’t have any differences claiming that your religion is better. Be alike to everyone. - Baba

VARA LAKSHMI VRATAM

Today is the auspicious day of Vara Lakshmi Vratam.

The Varalakshmi vratam is an important ceremony in the Hindu calendar for the ladies. The ceremony is performed by married Hindu ladies on the Friday before the ful
...l moon in the month of Sravana in the Hindu calendar (corresponding to July/August in the western calendar). This worship is done by married Hindu women to seek the blessings of the goddess Mahalakshmi, wife of Lord Vishnu, who is considered to be the abode of wealth and prosperity.

There is a legend that says that this vratam was recommended by Lord Shiva to his wife Parvati to secure opulence of all kinds. There is also another legend that tells of a very pious lady Charumati who was asked by the goddess Varalakshmi, in her dream, to do the vratam in order to fulfill her wishes.

Considering Bhagawan as Sai Lakshmi and Divine Mother, we pray Swami showers His blessings on you and your family.

Jai Sai ram !

What is the difference between absolute truth and worldly truth? Bhagawan clearly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, August 8, 2014

There is no God other than Truth. What is the difference between Truth and fact? You may put on a coat today and wear a different dress tomorrow. This is not Truth, it is only a fact, because it is subject to change. But Truth always remains the same. The Gita refers to Truth as Ritham.
... So Truth is not reporting what you see, hear, and experience. What you see and hear is worldly truth. It is not Truth in the strict sense of the word. It is only external truth (pravritti satyam). But the inward Truth (nivritti satyam) remains the same in the past, present, and the future. In this world of plurality, there is the underlying principle of unity. Of all the numbers 1,2, 3, 4.. the most important number is 1. AIl the other numbers are mere modifications of the number 1. 1+1 becomes 2. 9–1 becomes 8. Thus 1 forms the basis for all the numbers. This is the unity in multiplicity, this Unity is the Truth.

- Divine Discourse, Sep 11, 1988.

Always remember these three facts in your mind: Trust not the world. Never Forget God. Do not fear death.-BABA.

In what way is the message of all religions the same? Bhagawan lovingly explains us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Thursday, August 7, 2014

No religion ever preached enmity amongst faiths. It is the narrow-mindedness in individuals that gives room for conflicts and differences. Truly speaking, there can be no scope for any such disputes. For example, the word ‘Islam’ means surrender and peace – signifying surrender to God, and a peace...ful life with fellow beings. Two words in Quran are important – Salaat and Zakaat; Salaat means adoring God with steadfast devotion, Zakaat means charity to the needy and destitute, and helping fellow beings. Ancient Hindus lived with the motto, “May all the beings in all the worlds be happy” (Lokah Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu) and “Help Ever, Hurt Never” (Paropakarayah punyaya, papaya para peedanam). Treating such aphorisms as their life breath, people of all religions lived with amity and harmony in the past. They considered truth, peace, love and forbearance as their very life breath.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 16, Jul 23, 1989.

Believe that God resides in all beings. Speak such words as would spread goodness, truth and beauty. – BABA.

Achieving Sathya Sai through the Organization - talk at Sundaram on August 3, 2014

TALK AUDIO: Thanks to the dynamic Chennai Youth, this is ready.

Why should one have a goal in life? What should be the goal? And where does God figure in all this? The answers are powerful and emotional no doubt, but are definitely scientific and based on observations.

The talk then moves on to what it means to 'achieve Sathya Sai' or own's personal God. As our heart and vision expands to accommodate what God truly is, we will get inspired and invigorated in this divine romance.

Of course, the talk is peppered and spiced with experiences - personal and of others!

"Thursday Divine Darshan"
Short darshan Video Clip every Thursday

Darshan - 05

When the compassionate Lord chose to move amidst us... even as He glided past us and before us, He silently slipped into our hearts too! The eyes that were
... intoxicated with the beauty of His Darshan and never satiated, unknowingly then, turned within in search of that divine glimpse. Isn't that how He purified us, isn't that how He made us seekers? That was the magic of our Sai's Darshan!

Looking at Swami we wondered, was He more gracious or more graceful... nay He is verily grace itself - when He walks, when He talks, when He scolds, or when he gathers His robe's folds, when he smiles and beckons or in disappointment frowns... Seeing His grace our hearts gaped, 'How could one be so very graceful?' He could be, because He was as gracious as He was graceful, and to shower His grace was the very purpose of His presence. Darshan was that special moment when He allowed us to witness His gracefulness and graciousness.

What lessons can we learn from our tongue? Bhagawan lovingly reminds us to tread the noble path, in His own inimitable style.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Wednesday, August 6, 2014

“Oh tongue, you are the one selected to enjoy the sweet taste; you speak truth that symbolises sacrifice! You respect yourself and others. Without leaving your home, you attend to your work, without friendship or friction with your neighbours. How sweet are the
...words you speak? Oh noble one, you recite lovely poems and sing beautiful songs. When any tasty dish or fruit is given to you, you don’t retain it, but immediately send it down the gullet to the stomach. When anything bitter is given, you spit it out, saving the stomach from hardships. You are selfless, derive much joy in sharing and are the epitome of tolerance. You live amidst 32 sharp teeth, but intelligently and tactfully you conduct yourself without getting a single cut. Please don’t slip and utter inappropriate words at any time!” Thus, remind the tongue about its noble qualities and teach it never to lose its reputation by criticising others.

- My Dear Students, Vol 5, Ch 2, Mar 9, 1993.

When the tooth accidentally bites your tongue, do you get angry and break the teeth that hurt it so? No! For, the teeth and tongue are both yours! Similarly, the one who hurts you and you, are both limbs of the same body called God. - BABA.

DAINIK BHASKAR NEWS PAPER APPRECIATES SATHYA SAI CENTRAL TRUST

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family

Swami Founded Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust which was officially Registered in the year 1972. Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust has been doing unparalleled and yeomen service to the mankind and paved way to stupendous projects which stand as " Milestones" of Sri Sathya Sai Avatar, be it the Super specialty hospitals, Educational institutions , Water projects to name a few.

It is a moment of pride and happiness to all the Sai Family as the media which spoke ill on the entire Sai Set up is slowly opening its " eyes".

A leading English daily of India, DAINIK BHASKAR in its recent issue has appreciated the contributions of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust especially after Swami's Mahasamadhi. Here is the link for the article.

http://daily.bhaskar.com/article/NAT-TOP-from-crisis-to-credibility-how-sathya-sais-trust-turned-around-the-fate-in-three-4688779-PHO.html

Some Excerpts from this article

(Just three years ago, there were widespread speculations about the future of the empire of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, build (built) over five decades. Sai had created a network of trusts and institutions that provided health care, medical facilities and education to many. Since Sai's presence was considered enough to streamline everything, his passing away on April 24, 2011 led many to believe that end of the empire was imminent" )

On various occasions Swami has said it very clearly that Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust will remain so long as " Moon and Sun" exists in this world. Even though many Non- Devotees and few of our own Sai-devotee family members thought " otherwise", after being carried away by the misleading media reports during Swami's mahasamadhi, it is only His grace that the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust is functioning with doubled enthusiasm with so many service oriented projects in the recent past.

The unique feature of the Trust and the reason for its success in spite of PHYSICAL absence of Swami is because of the amount of transparency and accountability. The Trust is adhering to strict internal audits, contract evaluations and even today the first thing you read after entering the Ganesh Gate is OFFERINGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ( which includes any thing in cash and kind) unlike other temples which lately have come out with life size, fancy, Donation boxes and that's that first thing you see as you enter the Temple premises.

As part of the transparency measures taken up by the Trust, from the year 2011, Annual reports consisting of the expenses, new projects, interest earned on deposits, new donations etc are made public and available on the official website of the Central Trust. Here is the link for the Annual report for the year 2012-2013

http://www.srisathyasai.org.in/Pdf/SSSCT%20-%20Annual%20Report_2012-13%20-%20Web%20Distribution.pdf

As directed by Swami, even today there are no cash offerings and no practice of fund raising of any sorts. Lot of devotees who visit Prasanthi (i am sure you also would have experienced this) keep enquiring with sevadals or fellow devotees as to how to make offering to Swami ( Central Trust).

Here i would like to narrate a personal experience when i went to deposit a cheque sent by a devotee friend to the Central Trust office opposite the South Indian canteen. As i was asked by my friend to deposit the cheque into the " corpus fund" i was asked to wait for my turn. Mean while here entered one " visibly" poor man. He seemed to be little confused and unsure of something. I thought he mistook the Central Trust office for canteen token issuing counter. He was holding 100 rupee note in his hand. Looking at the 100 rupee note and his physical appearance this man reminded me of Lord Krishna's childhood friend " Sudama" ( also known as Kuchela in South India). He came up to me and asked ( in Hindi) "where is the place to make a deposit to Swami's Trust". I told him you have come to the right place. As i was seated next to him and as we waited for our turn, he started a small conversation . He said he is from a very remote village in the Indian state of Bihar. I asked him how did he come to Puttaparthi. He said his son had a heart related problem and was successfully operated in the Super Speciality Hospital. He continued, "such a big operation was done absolutely free of charge and this hospital should exist for eternity and beyond so i am offering this 100 rupees which is from my heart and I know it is nothing compared the huge expenses incurred in running this hospital but I feel it is my responsibility to offer something to Swami's hospital". I really had tears seeing his devotion and more importantly the " impact" made by Swami's hospitals to the poor and downtrodden.. He indeed is a very " responsible" devotee who took pains to find the office and made sure his hard earned money went to the continuation of Swami's mission and in spreading His message of love.

I had a chance to take few photos of the water project at various places. These photos are from July 2013.

Sri.Kondal Rao and Engineers from L & T company successfully get the trail run

A workmen busy joining the water pipes leading to the village

Photo of the pump house near Kesapuram Village, July 2013

High quality, specially designed pipes are being used for Swami's water project.

By Swamis grace the water project which was planned to give safe drinking water to 118 villages (These are the villages which were not covered in the previous phase of Sri Sathya Sai Water Supply Project) benefiting nearly 200,000 people is almost complete. It is likely to be dedicated to the Nation during the 89th Birthday celebrations of our Beloved Bhagawan on 23rd November 2014.

Every one of us are the " torch Bearers" of Sri Sathya Sai mission and it is every devotee's responsibility.. Lets pray to Swami to make us His humble instruments and work harder to spread joy and happiness to the society

What is the essence of all religions? Bhagawan lovingly explains us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Tuesday, August 5, 2014

Religions are set forth in order that people enjoy the benefits of leading a moral life. Religion is a meritorious system that unifies body, mind and intellect. Integrity or wholesomeness of conduct is morality. Morality is also called as Righteousness (Dharma). Practice of morality alone can help the world attain... greater levels of prosperity. All religions have the same goal and establish the same truth. Their fundamental duty is to transform a human being into a divine being. Religion brings out the inner transformation in a human being. It aims at developing self-confidence to lead a good life. All religions are built on the secure foundation of morality. If morality deteriorates, not just religions, but humanity as a whole deteriorates. Every individual must practice being good and lead a moral life. Attainment of wealth and prosperity is possible by practicing moral values.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 16, Jul 23, 1989.

Adore all religions; they are all pathways to the one God. - BABA.

AUDIO SPECIAL - VVS LAXMAN'S TRYST WITH DIVINITY

The first question Baba asked was, "Who Is Laxman?"

I cannot express the kind of feeling, the happiness and joy, I felt firstly seeing Him so closely and secondly when He knew my name and
... asked me. - VVS

For VVS Laxman, a noted cricketer from South India, Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba is a guide and coach not only for the game of cricket but also for the game of his life. In this interview which we bring you as part of a series TRYST WITH DIVINITY Laxman tells us how spirituality has helped him not only to face every ball as a batsman but also to face every situation in his life with confidence. This interview is about a cricketer's sport and his spirit. One message is clear from Laxman's life, one who puts faith in the Lord, will never be let down! So hear the whole story yourself. What is the one pursuit we must never forsake, no matter where we are, what we do? Bhagawan lovingly explains to us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Monday, August 4, 2014

All of you are sparks of the
... Divine. Just as a spark of the fire from the furnace, after a while, turns into ash, you too forget your divine origin. When you pursue your education, you must also pursue spiritual discipline, which will lead you to Divinity. Those that study in institutions that have a spiritual discipline, must consider themselves extremely fortunate. If you choose to adhere to the ideals learnt and practice even a small fraction of the Lord’s teachings, you will realize the true purpose of education and the true objective of human life. Education without right conduct is of no value. You must make use of what you have learnt, not just for earning a living but also for service to the society. Only then your degrees will have any meaning. Whatever job you take up, wherever you work, you must continue the practice of spiritual discipline and aim for Self-realization.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 15, Mar 1, 1981.

Just as fire is needed till the rice is cooked, so also the spiritual practices are needed till you realize the innate divinity. -BABA.

Two websites were officially launched during Guru-Purnima

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

During the Gurupurnima celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam, two websites were officially launched.

1) http://sssmobilehospitaltn.org/ - This is the official website for the SSS Mobile Hospital project.

Sai Mobile Hospital

Conceived by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Himself, the Sai Mobile Hospital is a unique free rural outreach health service, which reaches the very doorstep of the needy. This is yet another example of Swamy's forethought and His concern for the downtrodden. Keeping in mind that the under privileged living in villages, not only have no immediate access to medical care, but also find visiting a hospital in a nearby town quite taxing, Swamy willed that quality healthcare should be made available to them in their villages and that too it should be free of any cost to them. Thus was born Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital.

Managed on an entirely voluntary basis, this vehicle is a mini hospital on wheels with specialists on board and offers all critical diagnostic and treatment facilities, inclusive of minor surgeries. In addition to free treatment, the prescribed medicines are also supplied free of cost. In operation since 2006 in Andhra Pradesh, Sai Mobile Hospital has directly benefitted over a million economically deprived patients from rural areas.

Sai Mobile Hospital now in Tamilnadu

The huge success of the program and its widely acknowledged usefulness has logically led to its expansion in to other states starting with Tamilnadu. In the first phase the coverage area would be 15 slums in Chennai and about 30 villages within a 50 km radius from the city, targeting a total population of nearly two lakhs.

Free medical care to the needy at their doorsteps

Detailed plans have been drawn up for its operation. To start with, the van would function three days a week and cover 12 predetermined nodal points every month. Strategically located schools- both Government and privately run, community halls and marriage halls have been identified where the ground camps would be set up. Over 200 doctors including specialists, 50 paramedical personnel and more than 600 Seva Dal volunteers have confirmed their participation in the program. Nearly 100 Government and private hospitals and nursing homes have agreed to provide any follow up diagnosis or treatment - this again would be free of cost. As ordained by Bhagwan, the Sai Mobile Hospitals offer the triumvirate of health care - curative drive, preventive focus and a spiritual base.

Spiritual Support

The spiritual base of the service encompasses educating and motivating the villagers on the importance of positive thinking, human values, prayer and meditation, all of which foster positive health.

...

2) http://sssbalvikastn.org/ - This is the official website for the Tamil Nadu Bal Vikas.

The Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Program has been founded by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to enable a world-wide renewal of individual commitment to an active moral life. Bhagawan Baba says: "You must study to become steady. See to it that the Divine Love in your heart is steady. The goal of education should not be to just acquire theoretical knowledge but to practically apply it in your life. Birds and animals lead life without ‘studying’, but your education must result in you developing a strong and good character."

Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas has thus been initiated and founded by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, based on the Divine Dictum “The End of Education is character”

Balvikas means blossoming of Human Excellence. Human values can neither be imbibed through textbooks nor can they be gifted by anyone. They are  inherent within each individual and the Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas program provides the right environment for these latent human values to blossom and empowers each child to unfold the innate values within oneself to the highest perfection.

Since the focus is on bringing an intrinsic transformation within each child. The Bal Vikas classes are conducted as a part of the Global Mission of the Sri Sathya Sai Organisations to direct the children of today – the torch bearers of tomorrow’s society, into the path of self-enquiry and self-discovery.

With this conviction the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Program has been designed to help children to practice the basic human values, namely, Sathya, Dharma, Shanthi, Prema and Ahimsa. Through the judicious use of simple teaching techniques such as: Prayer, Group Singing, Meditation, Story Telling and Group Activities, the Balvikas Gurus encourage the children to become conscious about the latent potential within and orient their lives on the trajectory of human excellence. This in short is the sum and substance of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas Program.

What is Bhagawan’s barometer to measure an educated person? Bhagawan kindly reminds us today.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Saturday, August 2, 2014

Many feel proud of the enormous growth in education eve...rywhere. Acquiring degrees at great cost and developing contempt for one’s parents out of intellectual pride is not a sign of higher education. Arrogance, envy and ostentation should have no place in an educated person. Humility is the hallmark of true education. The educated must serve people through sweat and toil. Education must inspire youth to offer service, to sacrifice and to help. It must not inspire youth to amass money as its goal, and to travel farther and farther to earn more and more of it. Accumulated money often breeds arrogance and its army of other vices. You cannot crave for peace and happiness and do things that bring unhappiness and worry. Having been born as human beings, you must try to rise above the level of animals and raise yourself to be truly Divine.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 15, Mar 1, 1981.

“BHAGAWAN IS IN US AS THE DIVINE SPIRIT”

[Feature Articles Archive]

Address by His Excellency Mr. K. Rosiah on the morning of Bhagawan Baba's 86th Birthday, November 23, 2011

Om Sri Sai Ram!

I extend my good wishes to all the devotees of Sathya Sai, to my friends, sisters and brothers, and all respected elders on this auspicious occasion.

This is the first birth anniversary of Bhagawan Baba, celebrated today without His physical presence. Even though He is physically not present amidst us, spiritually He is residing in all our hearts in full measure. Those who wish to see Him and crave to listen to His voice, He always makes it possible. However those who think otherwise, they are wasting their time as Bhagawan will never appear to them.

Today Puttaparthi is transforming itself into a pilgrimage centre. This is because Bhagawan has taken birth here; such is the sanctity of this place. From the scriptures we know of the birth place of Sri Krishna to be Mathura; we go there, see and feel ecstatic. In the same way, scriptures declare Ayodhya to be the birth place of Sri Rama. Even now people go to Ayodhya with yearning in their hearts and return with a new experience.

In the same way Puttaparthi, the birth place of Sai Bhagawan, is so sacred for all of us. This land is so holy as God was born here, moved amidst us and granted His Divine Darshan to all of us. Without desiring anything for Himself, He wished that the entire mankind should live in harmony and happiness. On my part, I always feel that I am very fortunate not because I became a minister, Chief Minister or Governor, but because I have been in the vicinity of Bhagawan’s grace, and am one among the millions of Swami’s devotees.

Bhagawan used to affectionately call all of us, “Bangaaru”. Today we are deprived of that, but if you can touch your inner consciousness and think for a while, you can still hear such a lullabical sound incessantly ringing in your ears. Such is the greatness of Bhagawan.

In Puranic age also, there were many who criticized and in fact, suspected the existence of Divinity. We need not care for them. Let us accept the good wherever it is. We need not consider the other aspects which are trivial and trash.

Some people still wonder whether Sai is Bhagawan or not. These words have no relevance. Keeping Puttaparthi as the centre for His activity Bhagawan wished that the State, the Nation, and also all other countries should receive the seva activities with equality. This is possible only because Swami is God.

Is it not a proof and incredible truth that in 151 countries the chanting of the name of Bhagawan is heard! Today, in the physical absence of Bhagawan, the celebrations are on. To the multitude of devotees who congregated here, the conviction prevails, “Bhagawan is seated in each one of us as the Divine Spirit.”

Let us move forward with the same belief and engage in good activities. While walking the well-lit path as shown by Bhagawan, let us redeem ourselves and strive hard for the uplift of society. I appeal to all of you in all humility that I will also participate along with all of you in carrying out the seva activities. I feel immense pleasure in listening to good words during this celebrations and take leave of you with utmost happiness in my heart.

Sairam.

Loving Sairams dear listeners!

Greetings on the auspicious Occasion of Naga Panchami.

Published in The Prasanthi reporter website an interesting incident during Swamy's visit to Pune-Hadshi in 2009. As always, there is a divine message ...and reminder from Bhagawan.

"In His Divine Discourse, Bhagawan also spoke about compassion for all living beings. He particularly mentioned snakes and scorpions and said that these creatures don’t attack unnecessarily. They attack only because they fear us humans.

Here is a tag to the above Divine remark.

Interestingly, a day prior to Bhagawan’s Discourse, a snake was spotted close to the music and lights equipment. The men feared it would get into their equipment so they contemplated killing it. However, two lady devotees stopped them, and instead caught the scared snake in some cushion covers, and handed it to another lady devotee who offered to release it. The lady devotees cautioned small crowd that had gathered around the snake that Bhagawan would never like anyone killing it.

And there came His Divine Discourse and an “off-the-cuff” remark about compassion for living beings… He gave His speech and spoke about snakes and scorpions! It is coincidental for the ordinary, but indeed ‘Saicidental’ for the Beloved Almighty Omnipresent Lord!

(Incidentally, Sri Sathya Sai Pandurang Kshetra is teeming with snake holes, but there was not even a single case of a snake bite reported. It was as though the snake(s) were charmed by the Lord and were content with His blissful darshan…)

After the Divine Discourse Bhagawan lovingly blessed the gathering and sweetly expressed His happiness."

Naga Panchami is a traditional worship of snakes or serpents. The worship is offered on the fifth day of bright half of Lunar month of Shravan (July/August), according to the Hindu calendar. This year it falls on Friday, 1st of August, 2014.

(Incidentally, Sri Sathya Sai Pandurang Kshetra is teeming with snake holes, but there was not even a single case of a snake bite reported. It was as though the snake(s) were charmed by the Lord and were content with His blissful darshan…)

After the Divine Discourse Bhagawan lovingly blessed the gathering and sweetly expressed His happiness.

While the number of educated people has risen significantly, why is there no peace and happiness in the community? Bhagawan explains the problem and the solution.

Today’s Sai Inspires from Prasanthi Nilayam, Friday, August 1, 2014

The number of students in schools and colleges has increased very significantly. Formal education, which was for long the privilege of a few scholars and the sons of the rich, is now at the very doors of everyone. People rejoiced when schools and colleges rose up more and more in the countries of the world, without realizing what is happening through them. Unrest, fear and anxiety are increasing because of improper and incomplete education. Education process that does not involve itself in proper values or does not lay stress on morals is dangerous. Consequently, the products of the process, who have no sense of values, gradually enter the positions of higher authority in the administration of nations at very high levels. Hence the world has come to the brink of a disaster. Education can yield peace and prosperity only when along with technical skills and objective information, students are equipped with moral ideals, righteous living and spiritual insight.

- My Dear Students, Vol 2, Ch 15, Mar 1, 1981.

The spirit of sacrifice is the hallmark of true education. - BABA.

Sathya Sai Gokulam - The Blessed Bovines of the Holy Hamlet

These most pious, benign and blessed beings have been associated with Lord Krishna, just like the gopis and gopalas - and this divine connection continues even in this age. Be it Prashanthi Nilayam or Brindavan, there is a special place for the Gokulam. In fact, the Lord takes care of His beloved ones with the utmost concern and these benevolent animals in turn nourish every inmate of Bhagavan’s ashram, silently and sweetly, leading a life as pure as their milk and as serene as the look from their eyes….

The ashram dairy is about half a kilometer from the ashram along the main road of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Giri. It has a beautiful idol of Sri Krishna at the entrance, which Bhagawan Baba Himself painted. Sri Sathya Sai Gokulam was started to take care of the cows as a benevolent gesture by Bhagawan Baba. The Gokulam is a shelter for cows that houses over 400 cows. There are about 100 milking cows and this milk is consumed in the canteens and other institutions such as the primary school hostel, higher secondary school hostel, and the university boys hostel. The other by-products that the Gokulam produces are vermi-compost which is used by the farmers from neighboring villages as manure which is sold at extremely cheap rates. The Gokulam also houses a biogas plant which is used for generating alternate fuel for cooking food by the adjoining university boy’s hostel.

Gomatha – The Holy Mother in the form of Cow

Bhagawan has been always concerned about the cows at Gokulam. He says,“ ‘Gomatha’ or Mother Cow should be considered as one of the mothers that a man has. Every person on this earth, has 5 mothers. They are – DehaMatha(the mother who gave birth to the Body), Desha Matha(One’s own Country), Gomatha (the Cow), Veda Matha (the Vedas), and Bhoomatha (Mother Earth).

He says in Telugu “Nee talli vruddhuraa laindaniaa menu vadileystaavaa?” which translates to, will you throw away your own mother from your house just because she has become old? Adhering to Bhagawan’s instructions, all the cows, whether young or old, milking or non-milking – all are taken care of very lovingly by the personnel serving in the cowshed. Many a times, Bhagawan has said that it is not easy to get such a great opportunity to serve gomatha; one has to have a pure heart and acquire a lot of punya to serve the cows. Keeping in mind his teachings the highest reverence is accorded to the cows. The cows which have become barren and old are not discarded or given away for slaughter, but cared for at Gokulam till they are alive.

Each year during Krishnashtami, a few cows and their calves are taken to Sai Kulwant Hall in front of Bhagawan in a procession by the boys from the university as well as the higher secondary school. Each year Bhagawan lovingly feeds these cows that are brought for His blessings. In the earlier years, Swami used to visit the Gokulam quite often and has even entrusted some of his students to manage the cowshed too. He used to lovingly call these boys the “cow boys”.
