PARTHI NEWS - MARCH 2013

Blessed are We to Have Brother Satish Naik in South Africa

Sat Mar 30, 2013

Loving Sai Ram

Today was a day blessed by our Lord once again where we had been in the presence of our Loving Embodiment of Divine Love, Brother Satish Naik in Durban South Africa.

The afternoon started with a warm and loving welcome from our President Sr Savy followed by a divine discourse by our Brother Satish. With messages from the heart it was a trip down memory lane for most devotees being in the midst of our Lord Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Loving experiences re-affirming the lords omnipresence had devotees all waiting for more. Blessed were we this evening to have received those words. The evening concluded with bhajans and Arthi dedicated to our beloved Lord Sai.

We hope and pray that your trip in South Africa is a blessed and memorable one. May swami guide and protect you and your family and that you continue to bless us with daily happenings at Prishanthi Nilayum.

Sai Love to you and your family and we hope to see you again soon.

Your South African Sai Family.
Jai Sai Ram

A Glimpse Into Swami's House (yajur Mandir)

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family

These are few exclusive photos taken in Swami's Yajur Mandir. Not many had the privilege to enter in His Abode and these photos are re-posted for those who wouldn't have seen before.

As we all know Swami wore a very special robe that day and all the devotees were waiting in the hill view stadium. As soon as Swami came down from His Chambers, it seems, His first query was "Where is the Golden Chariot parked"?

Swami has just come down from His room in the first floor

A beautiful cake was kept ready for Swami to cut. Few Chosen one's had this great fortune to be part of this Lovely Family of Yajur Mandir inmates. In the photo below, as every one watched blissfully, In this picture, Sri.Rathnakar (Swami's nephew) is seen delicately holding Swami's hand while Swami cut's the 85th birthday cake

After cake cutting ceremony, Swami is now heading towards the front room leading to the main door. Seen above is a very beautiful painting in the front room of Yajur Mandir done by Sri.Sidharthan Nair who is now 87 years old He has submitted about 18 paintings since 1977 to Swami.

The picture above shows Sri.Chakravarthi, Sri.Balram, Sri.Giri and others in the front room which leads to the main door shown below.

An out side view of Yajur Mandir Main door...O Lord! from now on we have to see You coming out of the doors of our hearts....

SHIVARATHRI 2013 IN PRASANTHI NILAYAM

Om Sairam dearest Sai family

Shivarathri 2013 was a grand one filled with Divine energy of our beloved Lord. Words fall short to describe the glory and grandeur of this beautiful festival. Swami's divine Omnipresence was felt each and every second on this holy occasion.

Apart from Indians, there were quite a good number of over seas devotees majority from South Africa and Russia. Swami during His 2007 Divine Discourse during Shivarathri had showered His immense grace by openly acknowledging the love He has for Russia and Russians.

I am sure those blessed souls who were present again in the Divine Abode this year and those in their respective places would have become nostalgic remembering that beautiful morning's divine discourse.

Ever since His physical departure, Swami has been working on His mission in a steady phase and it is now a SAIlent work. Thousands and thousands of devotees are visiting the Holy Abode and one can see a clear cut silent inner transformation among devotees. Like before since there is no rush for the first rows, every one seems to be calm and composed. There is absolute peace and tranquility on the faces of devotees visiting Prasanthi. As soon as one enters the gates of Prasanthi, we tend to get lost in a silent conversation with the divine, either by remembering those beautiful darshans, sparshans and sambhashans or asking Swami for forgiveness for all the short comings.

When ever I pass by Sai Kulwanth Hall, my heart always asks, all these years, during non-darshan timings i would think Swami would be doing this or doing that in His House and now i wonder where Swami would be? We all know and He said it very clearly that He is the Hridaya vasi (resider of our hearts). Heart thrills with joy when this thought of Swami living in our hearts arises.

Shivarathri 2013 started with the ceremonial procession of the Sai Eswara Lingam being taken to the sanctum sanctorium and placed in the middle of Sai Kulwanth Hall. It is the same white lingam which was sanctified and blessed by Swami during the Ati Rudra Mahayagna in 2006. If i remember correctly this Linga (which is worshipped by Hindus) was made by a Muslim and as he came to know that it was for Swami he didn't take a penny for the same.

The Chief Preist Sri.Nandjunda Dixit of 2006 Ati Rudra Maha Yagna was the Chief priest for the Shivarathri 2013 Linga Abhishekam (Abhishekam, is conducted by priests, by pouring libations on the deity being worshipped, amidst the chanting of mantras. Usually, offerings such as milk, yogurt, ghee, honey, Panchaamrutam, sesame oil, rosewater, sandalwood paste are used for Abhishekam).

There was one priest who was explaining each and every ritual to the audience as Rudram was chanted by the priests.

Just before the start of Akhanda Bhajan Swami's divine discourse was played on the big screen and after listening to Swami singing Hari Bhajana Bina" the Akhanda Bhajan commenced at 6 PM.

The night long bhajan session was packed with the divine energy and the Sai Kulwanth Hall witnessed quite a good number of devotees. The current students, former students, various Canteen groups, overseas group took turns and sang during their respective alloted time slots. Many groups had been practicing rigorously for Shivarathri Akhanda Bhajan for almost a week and i am sure their hard work paid off as they had the rare chance to sing His glory sitting right infront of the sanctum sanctorium, closer to the Shiva-Shakthi Swaroopa on the holy night of Shivarathri. What more one can ask for?

After the night long vigil, like it is the tradition Tamarind rice and Sweet rice was served to every one as every one broke the fast at 6 AM, reminding those memorable days of Swami's physical presence, where He would watch every one partake the food and many a times we have seen Him directing the students pointing to a devotee seated way back in the last row to serve him. Swami was also asking His students to go for the second round of serving and insisted on checking with every devotee if they needed more food. Such is the kindness of our Mother Sai whose love is more than thousand mothers.

With respectful pranams at the Lotus feet of our beloved Lord and wishing and praying for every one in this world and all the worlds to remain happy, May Swami continue to inspire us, help us, guard us...

1st MARCH 2013

Om Sairam dearest Sai Family,

This March would be eagerly awaited to celebrate the most important and sacred festivals that is celebrated in Prasanthi Nilayam, SHIVARATHRI.

The ashram, inspite of not many major festivals or public holidays, has been very busy with lots of people coming to seek Swami's blessings.

The day temperature is around 35 and one can actually feel the heat even though summer is long way to come. This used to be the time during those good old days of Swami's physical presence, the rumors would start making rounds about Swami's probable departure date to either Brindavan or Kodaikanal.

Now every thing is peace and calm. No rumours what so ever. Every one seems to be in one pointed focus on Swami. Quite a few devotees are expected this year for Shivarathri, to refresh those golden days and memories of Lingodbhavam and the nocturnal vigil.

During this festive season, as sort of home work or preparations if you want to know more about Shivarathri please click the following link to read the TEXT of Swami's Divine Discourse on Shivarathri dated Feb 17 1985

Mahashivrathri Bhajan was conducted by the SSSSO-Goa at the Neura community hall with all the devotional fervor and gusto.

Karmali Samithi took all the efforts of organising the same. The highlight of the events were two

1. A 18 foot tall Idol of Bhagwan Shankar. The idol was very majestic and drew crowds. Artist Mahesh Bhomkar put in mammoth efforts in developing the idol.

2. Narayan Seva was conducted and over 100 people were specially bought in from the slums of Bambolim and were fed prasadam. Clothes and sweets too were distributed. They enjoyed the bhajans for some time and were then escorted back.
