Last week, I had posted a message
under the caption, "Saligramam Garland", with a photograph showing Swami
blessing the garland. (shown below)
Subsequently, Swami directed Sri Srinivasan Chettiar to put the garland in
the neck of the wonderful idol of Shiridi Sai, installed in Ananda Nilayam,
Madurai.
I now take pleasure to attach the photo showing Chettiar putting the "Saligramam
Garlandâ" on Shiridi Sai. Bhagavan had turned around in his wheel-chair, and
is looking at the event with great interest.

SAI IN ANANDA NILAYAM
Swami blessed the vast gathering of devotees in "Ananda Nilayam", Madurai,
on 26th April 2007, while on HIS way to Kodaikanal. Some of the snap shots
had been posted by me in this group. I will continue to post photos and
messages covering the Divine Visit to Ananda Nilayam.

Please view the abovementioned enlarged image. Now the wonderful story
concerning this Divine event.
All devotees are aware of the Shiva Lingams. Likewise, for the deity of Lord
Vishnu, there is one "Saligramam". These saligramams may sometimes have a
small hole. But the distinct feature is that the symbols of "Sanghu" ?and "Chakra",
both the symbols of Lord Vishnu are embedded inside the saligramam. Many of
the saligramams are sold in the split condition and anybody can see the Lord
Vishnu's symbols very clearly. The "Saligramams" are a very rare product.
These are called "Swayambu", i.e. naturally formed.
Though the "Saligramams" are very rare to obtain, Sri Srinivasan Chettiar
meticulously collected a large number of "Saligramams". So far he could get
54 in numbers. This works out to half of the Divine quantity of 108 Nos.
Sri Chettiar had made a very beautiful garland using all these 54
saligramams. He had got made tiny cages in gold, and had kept the
saligramams within those golden cages. And then these items are woven into a
beautiful garland.
You can see in this attached photograph, Sri Chettiar offering this Garland
to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba Varu. Swami lifted the garland of "Saligrams"
in His Divine Hands, and blessed the same. Swami also permitted to place
this blessed garland across the neck of Shiridi Sai Baba's idol. I shall
post the photo of this action very shortly in my next mail.

Om Sairam to dearest Sai Family
Amidst cheers, prayers and tears, Swami left for Kodai Kanal this morning as thousands gathered on either side of the road, to greet a warm farewell to the Dearest Son of this holy Puttaparthi.

Swami had already prolonged His stay for about 15 days and all of us were expecting Swami would go to Kodai any time.
There was news running around that Swami might leave this morning (26th April) and government owned Indian airlines flight landed in the Sathya Sai Airport around 8:30am confirming Swami's departure from Puttaparthi.

The selected Students, teachers and
other dignitaries were already assembled in the Airport. There was a separate
lift placed for Swami to get into the plane and in no time Swami's flight took
off, around 10:30am, as thousands waved from the ground?
Puttaparthi, was fortunate to have Swami a bit longer than He used to. Courtesy
of the marriage and some other functions. Devotees thronged in large numbers,
ignoring the scorching sun.

Puttaparthi will now wear a deserted look, SANNATA as they call in hindi.. All
the big overseas groups, South Africans, Americans, Russians, all will be gone..
It will be a quite time for other wise busy Puttaparthi.
All the deserving and desiring beggars will be gone (many of them have already
worked overtime as Swami prolonged His visit..) and for all the flower vendors,
rickshaw drivers it will be a tough time.
The past 12 months witnessed a NEW Swami, a big revolution in all our lives..
Two big events that occurred were the two Yagnas in Parthi and Chennai.. We got
to witness about 20 discourses in this 12 months.. there is also a sea change in
our Sai Family.. Love is blossoming, hatred is declining, jealousy is running
away from us, yet we all know there is a long way to go and our Swami will
definitely make sure that we reach our Goal..
With prayers to our beloved Sai Ma to help us lead a more spiritually fruitful life I end this small offering at the lotus feet.
