The 8th Easwaramma Memorial Lecture

The 8th Easwaramma Memorial Lecture held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, on 6th May, 2008 was a memorable function conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Trust Maharashtra & Goa and Sri Sathya Sai Organisation, Mumbai. The hall was fully packed up and more than 500 people attended the function.

The chief guest for the function was Hon'ble Dr. Mrs Indu Shahani, Sherrif of Mumbai.

The program started at 5 p.m with Bhajans, followed by the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest to the accompaniment of Veda chanting.

There was a short welcome address by Smt. Mrudula Saxena, Mahila co-ordinator, Walkeshwar unit.

Smt Shanti Bhawalkar, Mahila spiritual coordinator for Mumbai, presented the report of the Mahila activities for the year 2007-2008 and projects for the year 2008-2009.

Thereafter the chief guest Hon'ble Dr. Mrs Indu Shahani, Sherrif of Mumbai, released a brochure which was a compilations of the Easwaramma Memorial Lectures from 2001 to 2007. This was  followed by the 8th Easwaramma Memorial lecture delivered by the chief guest Hon'ble Dr. Mrs Indu Shahani, Sherrif of Mumbai, on "The Role of Women in Family and Community Sadhana."

The Dance Ballet entitled "Mira" choreographed by Deepak Mazumdar and staged by Gowri Rao Mehta and Pavitra Bhatt.

The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms Sai Geeta, Mahila co-ordinator Ghatkopar committee and the Aarti was performed by Smt Sarla Shah National co-ordinator for Education.
